While I like a lot of the LBP2 and 3 costumes, I kinda miss LBP1's style for a vast majority of them where they were mostly like cosplay. Cardboard bits, strips of paper, office supplies, or large bits of cloth clearly for something else (like the red kimono's Obi looking like it was a large ribbon or small bandana). LBP1 had the Neon skin or the Yellowhead outfits, but overall it was very grounded. LBP2 had bubbling chemical flasks and animated materials, which while again, looked cool, kinda lost that "homemade" charm. The games kinda made the same progression in art style as a whole, with LBP1 keeping all the various bolts and springs visible on the large real-world objects, but then by LBP3 we had actual teleporters and coal trains and buildings and machines that seemingly were made with sack folk in mind. There were still real world props filled in but the scale felt far less consistent and more overtly magical.
A good example of this is comparing LBP1's Marvel costumes and LBP2's Marvel costumes. The difference between taped-on Captain America to perfect £800 Deadpool cosplay is quite noticeable.
I always thought of it as like a child playing with toys. As they grow up, they gain access to better materials and learn new sets of skills about how to build things. They abandon their room for a garage, they start using more expensive assets like gold leaf and neon lighting in their builds, and they become more advanced at what they do. That's the head canon I've developed for the visual & gameplay changes between 1-2. Same metaphor can extend to 3.
26:22, The bunny tail from what I remember actually changes Sackboy’s body rig and it makes your expressions (from rotating the controller and controlling the arms) a lot stranger than normal. I recall using it a ton in LBP2 for this reason and it’s a lovely piece for me because of that silly element. I’m not sure if it had the same effect in LBP1, but I’d like to think that it does
What's so fun about little big planet character costumization? You can use stickers to change the colour of the costumes, meaning you can make your sack person quite unique.
Me and my brother put atleast 100 hours into LBP1 and 2, and I never knew popit colors could change outfit colors. Me and my brother must've kept our popits the same color the whole time lol.
My favorite use for the flat outfits like the cardboard mask is for saving sticker costumes. I used a sticker and a flat costume to make Vegeta as a kid in LBP2 lol.
24:15 it's called the american jacket because it originally looked like popular daredevil evil knevil's outfit, which has the american flag on it. my theory is that they just kept the name .
A rather strange choice to not consider their viability as something to spam stickers and decorations into. Especially considering as you get more advanced into costume making the costume pieces become essentially only a base for all the meaningful stuff.
Brings back so many memories of trying to make cool costumes to impress my friends. I'll never forgive you spinymad for not believing I made my space dragon costume!
Am i missing my guess that the pink scarf is the same material as SackThing's tongue? 'cause it really looks that way. This was a real fun video, Tas! Thanks for sharing it wiv all of us. Stay safe out there, and have a wonderful day!
I think the thing I disagree with the most is the lower ranked skins. Insane to put Brown Burlap in F. But Good video! Be neat to see something like this again in the future
I'm so glad the Dragon Mask topped the list, it's one of my absolute favorite costume pieces in the game, combined with the spiky teeth it's such a fun and cute look!
it would be awesome if you did LBP2 as well! i was pleasantly surprised at how high the polka dot dress was. it is the most memorable costume piece to me
Was never big on most of the base game hair options in LBP1. A lot of them go for that stringy look that really limits their versatility, and kind of cripples the ability to texture them with stickers. Even as a kid I remember being relieved when LBP2 gave a lot more full-looking hair options.
for some reason as a kid i dressed my sackboy up as laura ingalls wilder (or some similar late 1800s-era midwestern person). so the bonnet and various old style dresses got a lot of use for me
Ah, so many memories. Used to wear the pvc pants, pvc shirt, Wellington boots, and crash helmet. Hope that you do a video on the costumes of lbp 2 & 3! Mostly 2, I think it had the best costumes, 3’s felt like they didn’t have great versatility.
Of the DLC-specific outfits, the Kabuki Costume was my all-time favorite, to the point that even if I changed the clothes, I'd keep the skin material, and even add to it with stickers and decorations. It'd be in my S-Tier for sure 👍
Kind of sucks that you won’t be able to continue to series (unless not, and I’m assuming wrong than), it’s nice that this video exists, cause I learned a lot from it, got a little nostalgic. I’d say that my favorite “Costume Piece” as I call it, would be Yellow Head, I’d say it’s the most unique to me, as it can be fun running around as a barely visible blur.
if you ever do the LBP1 DLCs, PLEASE don't forget the Toro costume (includes the Toro Mask and Toro Scarf, though it shouldn't be called that as it's actually a furoshiki he's wearing) p.s. the bunny tail goes perfectly with the toro custome parts to give him his bobtail
The styling of the blonde hair wig was inspired by the type of hairstyle that was popular in 2008 among girls, the Pouf. which is basically bumped bangs. (You learn something new every day, Gen Z. not everything was what you perceive as 2000s fashion, because your focusing on the early 2000s. and that style was mid to late 2000s.)
In LittleBigPlanet 1, this is my go-to, down to the popit color, with the school uniform, dollar chain, long lash eyes, wellington boots, cute lion ears, scary fangs, and fairy wand.
I was not expecting this hour of tasryse rambling about costumes with a straight face, nice (edit) tas made a video on his least favorite game according to yt lol
Maybe ranking of the levels in lbp1 since u want less things, but more to be able to talk about them, how challenging they are or how well stickers are placed in them 😊
can't belive he isn't ranking popit colors... i'm literally sobbing and crying rn...
Candy Jar in S
Final someone original instead of COpycat Banana Cat
Chicken head is peak because you can combine it with glasses and moustaches which can create some of the funniest looking shit imaginable
FACTS 😂
Indirect F.R.I.E.N.D.S reference lol
i thought he was gonna rank all the premade outfits and that already would have been a big video
but this guy is crazier than i could ever imagine
oh my god i never knew about the unique sound when you slap someone with the frying pan. that's HILARIOUS.
I used to use the frying pan all the time 😭

i used that all the time because of its funny element too. i think the frying pan also changed the body rig in LBP2!
Oh yeah! I think i remember that, when you but the bunny tail on, it’s like Sackboys arms dislocate.
What's so fun about little big planet character costumization? You can use stickers to change the colour of the costumes, meaning you can make your sack person quite unique.
21:19 love the subtle pun. the best puns are ones that make you go "why did he enunciate that particular syllable like that-? OH!!!"
Love the Tiny "current music playing" pop up :D
Me and my brother put atleast 100 hours into LBP1 and 2, and I never knew popit colors could change outfit colors. Me and my brother must've kept our popits the same color the whole time lol.
Nice video. Now rate every sticker in the franchise
the video will be at least 8 hours long my god
Ngl, I would've bet that you'd make a LBP Levels Tier List before a costumes list, but I love this all the same!
My favorite use for the flat outfits like the cardboard mask is for saving sticker costumes. I used a sticker and a flat costume to make Vegeta as a kid in LBP2 lol.
the red bolt is a direct reference to david bowies red bolt makeup, its such a cool detail
i really like that you have a separate ranking in the corner of the individual item sections as well
long bunches wig being so far low hurt me on a spirtual level but the bunny ears being so high up saved me from certain death
Ain't no way the clown makeup placed higher than the grey hair, crash helmet, and samurai armor.
Crash test helmet in C I have to respectfully disagree that item has been the backbone of my drip since 2009
Over 50% of costumes I saw used the cartoon eyes.
I'd love to see more rankings/tier lists!! I could watch this stuff for days, whether it be cosmetics or something else, maybe levels?
Maybe ranking every LBP1 story mode level
24:15 it's called the american jacket because it originally looked like popular daredevil evil knevil's outfit, which has the american flag on it. my theory is that they just kept the name .
I dont think there is any other lbp youtuber that i could watch rank costumes for over an hour.
A rather strange choice to not consider their viability as something to spam stickers and decorations into. Especially considering as you get more advanced into costume making the costume pieces become essentially only a base for all the meaningful stuff.
How in the world did you mange to make a video consisting of just LBP costumes and voice-overs so entertaining?! Awesome!
51:18 Thats also the material of sackboy’s tounge
Ranking Elizabethan Trousers above Dungaree Dress is kinda wild, ngl
blessed with a full hour about tasryse complaining
the goat of lbp content jus uploaded 🥶🥶
3:06 Mr. Evrart is helping me find my costume.
Brings back so many memories of trying to make cool costumes to impress my friends. I'll never forgive you spinymad for not believing I made my space dragon costume!
ive been binge watching ur videos all of my road trip lol this is perfect timing for the last hour of it
Am i missing my guess that the pink scarf is the same material as SackThing's tongue? 'cause it really looks that way. This was a real fun video, Tas! Thanks for sharing it wiv all of us. Stay safe out there, and have a wonderful day!
Now combine the winners of each category into a full costume
The yellow damask icon uses the unused damask from earlier builds of Lbp1. It can be seen in old renders and the GDC 2007 gameplay.
Your voice is so calming i almost fell asleep watching this
This is ambitious on another level
I think ranking costume SETS would make your life a whole lot easier
Please considering making that in the future!
I would love to see it
PEAK JUST DROPPED
also i get the problem with the popit changing colours but you can always just paint it the colour you want ^^"
I think the thing I disagree with the most is the lower ranked skins. Insane to put Brown Burlap in F.
But Good video! Be neat to see something like this again in the future
HAVING THE ROUND GLASSES SACKBOY POINT UPWARDS LMAO
I'm so glad the Dragon Mask topped the list, it's one of my absolute favorite costume pieces in the game, combined with the spiky teeth it's such a fun and cute look!
littlebigplanet 1 costumes genuinely makes me happy. the style is so good
1:08:54 damn i always thought it had the Media Molucle logo on it
Same 😭
it would be awesome if you did LBP2 as well! i was pleasantly surprised at how high the polka dot dress was. it is the most memorable costume piece to me
I loved the cartoon eyes. I personally put a black sticker on top of it basically making it bigger default eyes.
Great video! Please rank all rare DLC next :D
FR

I know that these are DLC, but I must say that the turkey head, pumpkin head, monkey king circlet, and the zombie body/legs are goated
I remember when I saw the chinese dragon mask as a kid, must have been 2008 or 9, I loved that thing!
This is one of my favorite videos you’ve made! I would love to see you rank the dlc costumes or the lbp2 costumes next!
Of the DLC-specific outfits, the Kabuki Costume was my all-time favorite, to the point that even if I changed the clothes, I'd keep the skin material, and even add to it with stickers and decorations. It'd be in my S-Tier for sure 👍
Bro i actually love your channel so much dude, keep up the good work!
i always wanted longer content and this fufills it, thanks! (this doesnt mean you bneed to make every video 39 hours long btw)
Do you plan on doing this again for LBP2?
I will consider it.
7:16 my favorite glasses in C tier? 😂
Kind of sucks that you won’t be able to continue to series (unless not, and I’m assuming wrong than), it’s nice that this video exists, cause I learned a lot from it, got a little nostalgic. Googly eyes glasses being at the bottom of the list is heresy

this reminded me that my mom used to do her hair like that while i was growing up around the late 2000s. i honestly loved it
Long bunches wig with the cyan color looks like Hatsune Miku
In LittleBigPlanet 1, this is my go-to, down to the popit color, with the school uniform, dollar chain, long lash eyes, wellington boots, cute lion ears, scary fangs, and fairy wand.
I literally use the long bunches wig with teal all the time
this is it. the most perfect video i've ever seen
I'd love to watch a ranking of the story levels, seeing how often you play them
i love this!!! please do more!!
Looks great!!
I was not expecting this hour of tasryse rambling about costumes with a straight face,
nice
(edit) tas made a video on his least favorite game according to yt lol
ngl I thought this was about outfits rather than costume pieces first
watched til the end just to see where the glorious sock puppet would rank
Love your content💘
as someone who uses google eyes, brown burlap material and a blonde hair wig, i find this video interesting
Maybe ranking of the levels in lbp1 since u want less things, but more to be able to talk about them, how challenging they are or how well stickers are placed in them 😊
Now's LBP2's, LBP3's and all of the DLC's turn.
If I make it to the end and the Sackboy doll isn’t number 1…
I’d accept the sock puppet too
:(
There ain't no way this video was posted only 4 hours ago >:O
Really loved it though dude 💪💪
I’d tbh sit down for one for each game
1:10:09 I don't think that's stitching, it's just the outline of the teeth, y'know, how skulls are tipically drawn?
Even though this ranking is subjective it for some reason seems about right
I had a death grip on that blonde wig when I wanted to dress as Rose Tyler
6:14 Vey Nice, Vanilla Face
The S Tier accessories only look good if you're not adding colors, or not trying to make a casual human.
hmmm cork hat seems like it'd be fun to put oversized decorations on.
Please rank all RSBR outfits! My favourite game in the series :D
cool now rank every dlc costume in littlebigplanet
The ninja scarf is my favorite by far
thank you for your service
Now rank every popit color from every lbp game
If you do the dlc stuff PLEASE include the cologne and perfume
Babe wake up, new upload
The school girl uniform was actually peak.
Yall already know I’m watching it through 😆
Also someonePLEASE tell me how to get Japanese celebration headband!
i'm surprised dinosaur head wasn't higher up, it's probably in my top 3 head gears
I agree with number 1, 100%
He put the tie low on the list because he's a Rin fan
HELL YEAHHHH, MY CHINESE DRAGON MASK
How did you customize the doll with such detail. I've always customize it but it was never as good as yours
@@lostchild02 Mods
Where do I find mods for little big planet, is there a website that I can go to?@@tasryse
@@lostchild02I personally use the discord server LittleBigBeyond for everything related to LBP modding.
21:23 😭 I remember all the outfits I made with it
Lbp fanbase scares me
Do LBP2 it would be super interesting
Bouffant hairdo wig with neon green and pink stickers is in my s tier🥺🥺
