- Today I show you how to fix a particularly annoying problem with the Android OS on Samsung and some other smartphones. The Live Wallpaper picker / chooser and how to re-enable it.

Thanks a bunch! I hate the new fashion of posting videos for everything, when all it takes is a couple of sentences to explain what to do for something as basic as this.
Thanks for this. The same issue exists on LG G7. 'Wallpaper Shortcut' works to get us to 360, Rotating Image and Video wallpapers. but the Google app is more problematic, its sometimes takes me the LG wallpaper app :(
I assume Live/360/video wallpaper is an Android 8 feature? Perhaps people who say it doesn't work (not sure what THEY mean by "IT") and not on 8.
For me the ShortsCut App gives me the 360, Rotating Image and Video wallpapers menus and solves the problem of not being able to access them...

Thank you so much, you're a life saver! It actually worked! Samsung is encroaching a bit too far with their aggressive push to use their default apps; it's pretty annoying. Hopefully this problem will be fixed in later android versions.

Got message "Lost of Android Dynamic Wallpaper components" when tried applying live wallpaper. So what i must to do ?
I found the ability to add the live wallpaper with Android currently I have pie but the ability to customize it is missing so hopefully this will let me do it thank you ETA - right after this, my phone's theme area updated and took away the wallpaper selector. Thanks again for this.

I've just gotten a Rakuten Big phone, which doesn't have a "live wallpaper" option, either. I've been using SB Wallpaper, which sets itself to live wallpaper... for awhile. But after a day or two, I find it is disabled again, and I'm back to the default crap images. Every possible setting has done nothing. So, I'll see if this method allows SB Wallpaper to keep on running as active wallpaper, and try to remember to come update this in a week or so to let you know if it worked.

Hold up! You currently cannot generate a public RSS feed for new albums
Google has changed the authorisation mechanism regarding albums and photos as per February 9th 2017.
The RSS from the RSSerator below will only work for authenticated users: once you log off the RSS feeds has no entries. I am investigating the alternatives.
Unfortunately, the Google API stopped to support changing the album visibility through the RSSerator.
A public RSS feed can now only be generated from a private or public album created before February 9th 2017.
So Any Alternate Way Available ?????
i have the live wallpaper picker. but if i aplly one it it says "App isnt installed" . i downloadded the wallpapers app but it didnt work . my phones name is zte blade v10 vita.

It shows the live wallpaper category but when I tap on it nothing happens. There's also an icon for apps and themes which also doesn't do anything when you press it. The only thing I'm able to do is pick three stock photos or select from one of my photos but I don't have a live wallpaper saved as one of my photos

I was playing round with my phones and getting frustrated as hell trying to sort this out and eventually found the app that has the live wallpapers like you show in the video.. BUT I now have a new problem, my live wallpapers stop moving while Nova launcher prime is the default launcher.. the sea had waves and everything moving then I installed Nova and none of them are "live" when I set them as my wallpaper. Lock screen or home screen. 😖😖

I followed all your directions and it said "wallpaper set successfully". Except the wall paper didn't load. This has never happened before yesterday, 11.16.20. Annoying! But, I can add a Samsung wallpaper but not Google wallpapers I paid for. Geez Louise. 🥴

It's definitely the worst part of Android.. I have that wallpapers app installed on my Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S but it has no live wallpapers in it.. what a mess. I want video live wallpaper like a phone this new should have built into it.

bro, go to settings _ then go to application manager _ then search for live wallpaper picker _ then click on the three dots above _ then uninstall updates _ then try setting the live wallpaper again ( don't use google's wallpaper app) use the actual way we set wallpaper! It worked to me, if it worked to you, please reply!

there is no such option given on my device (S7 Edge) you can't uninstall updates because the three dots aren't displayed on the application manager/ live wallpaper picker

Weird this way and the holding down home button doesn't work. Maybe because I'm using a launcher? But I've always used the same launcher and was able to use live wallpaper.... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Hi. Sorry this did not work for you. If you have a Samsung phone (I am not sure about others) they have updated the firmware since this video was made. You can try this. Press and hold the screen, when the options appear choose WALLPAPERS then at the top of the wallpapers screen you will see VIEW ALL press that. Then at the very top right press the three dots This should give the option for Live Wallpapers. I hope this way works for you.

I am not sure it will be the same for your phone but try this. Long press on the screen and choose wallpapers. press "View all" , in the top right corner press the three vertical dots and press "Live Wallpapers" and choose from there. I hope this helps.
No. I got a new system update. Now if I change the wallpaper the way shown in the video it goes away after about 10 seconds. If I do I via the Google Wallpapers app, via settings or via the app of the live wallpaper (if it came with one when you installed it) and set the wallpaper like that it stays until you close the app. (apart from the (1) live wallpaper pre-installed. This one does not change.) I have tried different launchers and different live wallpapers with the same result.
By the way shown in the video i mean by holding in a blank space on the home screen and selecting wallpapers.

My issue isn't that I can't _choose_ a live wallpaper, it's that it doesn't _stay_ selected (i.e.: I choose a live wallpaper, (we'll use Kittehface Software's 'Galactic Core' as an example) set it as the Homescreen, and anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes later, my wallpaper is a static image again)
Hi there. There are a couple of things I can suggest for this. The first happens if the wallpaper is stored on the SD card and the phone is plugged in to a PC etc. or restarted the phone can't access the wallpaper and goes to default. The second is it may be one of your App's. Facebook can often be a culprit here. Go to settings, clear data and cache (make sure you know your password first) and then un and re install. There are a few other Apps that auto update the wallpaper as well. I hope this helps and thanks again.
Well, the live wallpaper claims to be on internal memory. I only use Facebook and social media on my home PC, so it's not Facebook; I don't even install Messenger; too much bloat for my taste. And the only other app I have that might be able to change the Wallpaper would be ZEDGE; I use it to get some of my contact ringtones and notifications. What are some of the others? Also, I just noticed something else; if I set the live wallpaper, lock, then unlock my phone, and it's the default static wallpaper (a mountain range with sky above and clouds below it). I have the NOKIA 3.1, running (currently) Android Oreo, ver. 8.0.0
If you have Zedge and custom wallpapers you have to adjust the the settings for auto update wallpapers in Zedge settings. Set it to never. Let me know if this works. Thanks.
Unfortunately, it did not work :( In fact, ZEDGE was already set to "Never" for Settings > Auto update wallpaper. I even tried going back to the default "Launcher 3" application (I typically use Apex Launcher as my default Home application for the huge amount of customization it affords the user, but I can confidently say that Apex Launcher is not the culprit here, as I have used it on multiple devices (Motorola Moto E (1st Gen), ASUS Nexus 7 (2012, Wi-Fi), LG Treasure (TracFone's LG K7) with no symptoms such as this.) to no avail, as upon locking the phone with live wallpaper applied, it is no longer applied by the time I unlock the phone again.
Alright, well, it would appear that a System Update to Oreo 8.1 fixed it! I can now select a live wallpaper, lock my phone, unlock it, and Galactic Core is still applied! I had Oreo 8.0 on a Nokia 3.1 (which is an 'Android One' device) before, and my phone just (like maybe six hours ago) got the Over-the-Air rollout. Seems to have just been an 8.0 issue for the 3.1.

Title say = How to...bla bla bla. 4 minutes in to the video after going over and over on what the problem is and how not to fix it, (which we all understand since we are here watching your video) you finally point to the free google wallpaper app on the store. This could have been a 20s video if you actually did this to help others. BTW - this does NOT work if you have Nova installed. still say "App not installed"
