When I was a kid I actually stopped playing Halo CE for a whole year because I was stuck on the Library, and felt no desire to go back to it until I discovered I could turn up the brightness on my TV
That's how I felt about the entirety of act 2 on Gears 1. I thought it was way too hard when I first played it, and came back almost a year and a half later and completed it no problem, as well as the rest of the game. I think it was mostly the fact that I didn't know what to do back when I first played it (that, and the AI in the first game sucks lol)
MasterOfKnowledge I’m sure that was partially my issue too, but like I said, it was mostly the brightness that was a problem. The Library was a hella dark level and I’d get stuck in corners all the time. I was playing Quarantine Zone in halo 2 (another dark level) when I finally had the idea to turn the brightness up

You can beat minecraft without crafting but not without breaking. If you have a good configuration, the stronghold will have a fully end portal, but very very veeeery rare. You have to do what's possible to get to the main island and break the crystal and kill the dragon. I did that but with a special seed with el famoso full end portal.

The Jhonson diplication glitch only works on the spectre that the allied elite brought us at the beginning of the mission. If u take any of the spectres that spawn after taking the banshees it will despawn Jhonson instead of duplicate him.
Technically you completed the halo trilogy without firing a (Bullet). Because the spartan laser is a laser and not a bullet. Edit: For those who don't know what I'm talking about, I mean that he failed the no shooting challenge but he did complete it without firing a bullet. @Spider-Venom The Library is so easy if you actually know how to fight the flood. First of all, they aren't the Covenant and they shouldn't be fought like the Covenant. Everyone seems to think that running towards the flood with the shotgun is the best strategy, but in reality, the shotgun should only be used if you have no more ammo for the pistil or they are already close to you. You need to stay as far from the flood as possible, since they are literally designed to be more dangerous the closer you get. This is why you see so many experienced players running backwards away from the flood while firing at them. The Covenant pull you closer as they become easier to deal with that way after you pick them off. The Flood push you away because of how they become more accurate, less easily killed, and more dangerous up close.

I remember, and this is 5 years ago now, one random night on Twitch seeing Nak3d Eli get challenged to attempt Halo 2 Legendary Zero Shot(which at the time was considered not possible). And while it wasn't a true zero shot(because he died multiple times) it was one of the most hype things to watch him figure it out over the course of a few hours and finally beat it. I will never forget that, and it makes me miss Nak3d Eli, now that he's left Halo Speedrunning...
Tip for the sword, Pressing your melee key will prevent the sword from making you lunge at the cost of speed, trigger swings faster but allows you to lunge.
In levels that progress immediately in Halo 2 like between Delta Halo and Regret, if you have a depleted energy sword, you will start the next level with an infinite ghost sword. For example if you finish Delta Halo with an empty sword, you start Regret with an infinite ghost sword that has all the properties of a real sword except it lasts for ever. Note, this only works in single player
you never knew about the elevator? That how i always thought the mission was done. Shooting the legs always seemed too risky to me and required too much ammo as a kid.
Fun fact! In halo 3 you can use a mongoose and the elevator to ride around on the scarab! Make sure you don’t bring a marine like I did though, they are suicidal
In the video he says to not use a weapon and just running through the mission “Isn’t difficult” and later on you find out that he and his friend were playing on easy. I have tried to speed run all missions without using a gun on ‘Legendary’ and ‘hard’ and let’s just say that it WAS DIFFICULT, so I started to respect the guy even more, only to find out that he was going through the missions on FREAKING EASY!!!
Just a small tip about the mission, The Ark and the scarab you fight You can actually use the building in the center as a ramp to drive off and onto the scarab, if done right and at the right moment. Doubt this will be read but hey! Maybe it will help someone out there.
Cairo Station without picking up weapons or grenades is very doable. The last part has a hidden marine you can exploit on easy mode. Push him to the right where he can fight the stubborn major elite that hangs with the bomb.

You guys could used a little oldschool knowledge, it looks like. I'm watching the Halo CE clips, and noticing a lot of any weapon other than Plasma pistol. Things change a little in the sequels, but in Combat Evolved, all of the (campaign) weapons do the same melee damage. But The Plasma Pistol Punch has the fastest melee animation, making it the best weapon for bashing your way through campaign.

Just did the johnson glitch works for me, i just stand next to him with the spectre and when he gets in just stand still and another johnson will spawn and so on, maybe the glitch was glitched haha
Should point out, that my preferred method for each Scarab in Halo 3 is as follows. First Scarab: Drive a Mongoose off of the Lift, easy landing. Second Scarab: You can make a jump off of the building with the Grav Lifts inside, using a Brute Chopper. Little hard to land. Third and Fourth: You can actually climb onto the side of the Hornets. The marine is scripted to fly you to the Scarab so you can drop on easily. On top of that, if he survives, he will come back for you when you destroy the engine, and fly you to the next Scarab. Bungie also Scripted the Scarabs to move into position for you to board them using jumps, so if you’re in one of the designated spots to jump onto the Scarab it will move to you
Impossible, your shield regenerate and nothing can remove it.. Or a skull but if he do it no skull, impossible EDIT: Even if he do it with the right skull, he can't mele(i'm talking about the skull that you have to mele to regenerate your shield) so can't use sword and hammer and any mele attack
Good trick with halo ce's game engine. The grenade throw animation stops the melee animation. To abuse this with melees just punch, wait for it the punch to land, throw a grenade immediately after it lands, and then melee as soon as the animation starts. This will allow you to melee twice within the time span of one melee. Bonus trick: if I remember correctly if you tap reload twice and switch weapons you can perform a pocket reload.
I remember beating the first level of Halo 2 without picking up a single gun. It was hard, but as long you know your surroundings, and pick enough grenades, it can be done.
in Halo 2, on the elevator part of the oracle level, you can kinda just chill on the rig of the elevator thats pulling it up by doing parkour and grenade jumps. Me and my friend did this on a legendary play through and it made this part sooo much easier.

hm, the scarab, that elevator, i didnt know you had to take out the legs... i used the elevator every time when my sister was there 'shooting the legs'
on the storm, in the scarab section there is a grav lift next to one of the missle pods. the grav lift can be used on top of the silo in the middle of the area ( to get there use ladder) then when the scarab spawns it comes down over the silo, time the jump and you make it on really easily
8:25 I remember finding a glitch where if you keep an energy sword until the level's end, you can play the next level with an invisible infinite sword.
For the scarab on the ark, I grab the chopper and drive to top of the same building. Then yahoo it straight onto the scarab. Sometimes the leg hits you and you go flying!!!
when I first played halo 3 and the storm mission i didn't know you could just shoot out the legs of so i spent 3 hours trying to jump on to the scarab without using the elevator and finally did (after another 2 hours)

I kinda thought popular Halo players like you would know that. 17:40 you could also ride a chopper/gauss hog onto the scarab from the top of the structure you're in. 18:51 why not pickup the 14th laser skull while you're at it.
on the one mission in halo 3 where you fight your first scarab i always used to jump onto the scarab instead of shooting out the legs. I had no idea how many people didnt know about that
As soon as the video began I knew that killing Spark without the laser would be impossible. I read that you can actually kill him without it by using a lot of Rockets, explosives and stuff like that but that's useless here. Even sticky grenades bounce off him. I was surprised that the rest of it was possible though. Couple notes: First, if grenades had been banned as well (I would've banned then), CE would've been impossible because you wouldn't have been able to destroy the reactors in The Maw. Second, technically when a marine or ally NPC gets a kill in a vehicle you're driving, the game counts it as your kill so by letting them shoot in your vehicle you're "shooting" enemies. For specific notes: In H2 Gravemind you could've tricked the Hunters into falling the hole in the middle of the room. For H3 boarding Scarabs with ground vehicles isn't that tough if you know what you're doing, plus it's really fun! The one in The Ark I boarded it many times with a Chopper and a Grav Lift. Heck, that one may even be possible with a TANK! And for those who called them out for playing on Easy, not everyone is a super hardcore pro at Halo. Try yourself on Legendary then. He just wanted to see if it was possible to do it without shooting, there was no need to make it harder. I've beaten Halo 1-5 plus ODST and Reach on Legendary Solo no Speedrun no Noob Combo, yet I play on Easy for fun at times. Fight me if you will.
another thing for the halo 3 scarabs is that is you damage the back enough it will fall off exposing the core, but that means you'd need enough grenades to blow out the back
same on the ark as well, we just used to grab a chopper and wait for the right timing before zooming onto it, using a grav-lift in that room under the ramp we used to use

You guys could used a little oldschool knowledge, it looks like. I'm watching the Halo CE clips, and noticing a lot of any weapon other than Plasma pistol. Things change a little in the sequels, but in Combat Evolved, all of the (campaign) weapons do the same melee damage. But The Plasma Pistol Punch has the fastest melee animation, making it the best weapon for bashing your way through campaign.

15:30 That’s why the OG Halo games were so great, I noticed those cranes in my very first playthrough and jumped onboard the scarab, without shooting it’s legs (I didn’t even know about it) These guys have played the campaigns for god knows how many times and its just now they’re noticing it.
Just did the johnson glitch works for me, i just stand next to him with the spectre and when he gets in just stand still and another johnson will spawn and so on, maybe the glitch was glitched haha

Why didn't you get the Rex sword on Outskirts to use on the Scarab?
Should point out, that my preferred method for each Scarab in Halo 3 is as follows.
First Scarab: Drive a Mongoose off of the Lift, easy landing.
Second Scarab: You can make a jump off of the building with the Grav Lifts inside, using a Brute Chopper. Little hard to land.
Third and Fourth: You can actually climb onto the side of the Hornets. The marine is scripted to fly you to the Scarab so you can drop on easily. On top of that, if he survives, he will come back for you when you destroy the engine, and fly you to the next Scarab.
Bungie also Scripted the Scarabs to move into position for you to board them using jumps, so if you’re in one of the designated spots to jump onto the Scarab it will move to you
Not on Legendary, you are not punching enemies like that

Impossible, your shield regenerate and nothing can remove it.. Or a skull but if he do it no skull, impossible
EDIT: Even if he do it with the right skull, he can't mele(i'm talking about the skull that you have to mele to regenerate your shield) so can't use sword and hammer and any mele attack

Good trick with halo ce's game engine. The grenade throw animation stops the melee animation. To abuse this with melees just punch, wait for it the punch to land, throw a grenade immediately after it lands, and then melee as soon as the animation starts. This will allow you to melee twice within the time span of one melee.
Bonus trick: if I remember correctly if you tap reload twice and switch weapons you can perform a pocket reload.

In halo 3 i naturally use the elevator to kill the scaroub - i got to know about the breaking the legs method after watching this video.

I remember beating the first level of Halo 2 without picking up a single gun. It was hard, but as long you know your surroundings, and pick enough grenades, it can be done.

in Halo 2, on the elevator part of the oracle level, you can kinda just chill on the rig of the elevator thats pulling it up by doing parkour and grenade jumps. Me and my friend did this on a legendary play through and it made this part sooo much easier.

The question it asks leads the viewer to believe that it has not been done before, stating it as if no one has done it. If it were to be better, it would rather be, "Can We Beat the Halo Trilogy Without Shooting?"

hm, the scarab, that elevator, i didnt know you had to take out the legs... i used the elevator every time when my sister was there 'shooting the legs'

on the storm, in the scarab section there is a grav lift next to one of the missle pods. the grav lift can be used on top of the silo in the middle of the area ( to get there use ladder) then when the scarab spawns it comes down over the silo, time the jump and you make it on really easily

8:25 I remember finding a glitch where if you keep an energy sword until the level's end, you can play the next level with an invisible infinite sword.
For the scarab on the ark, I grab the chopper and drive to top of the same building. Then yahoo it straight onto the scarab. Sometimes the leg hits you and you go flying!!!
when I first played halo 3 and the storm mission i didn't know you could just shoot out the legs of so i spent 3 hours trying to jump on to the scarab without using the elevator and finally did (after another 2 hours)
It's pretty impressive that you can get through the original Master Chief trilogy and only *have* to fire your gun once.

It was several years before I found out you can climb on to Scarabs. The elevators/warthogjump/gravlift/hornets were the only way I ever knew of.
15:31 you realize that was placed there on purpose. The scarab actually walks to a specific spot if you're on the edge of the platform. It's a set piece, courtesy of Bungie. I kinda thought popular Halo players like you would know that. 17:40 you could also ride a chopper/gauss hog onto the scarab from the top of the structure you're in. 18:51 why not pickup the 14th laser skull while you're at it.
on the one mission in halo 3 where you fight your first scarab i always used to jump onto the scarab instead of shooting out the legs. I had no idea how many people didnt know about that
As soon as the video began I knew that killing Spark without the laser would be impossible. I read that you can actually kill him without it by using a lot of Rockets, explosives and stuff like that but that's useless here. Even sticky grenades bounce off him. I was surprised that the rest of it was possible though. Couple notes: First, if grenades had been banned as well (I would've banned then), CE would've been impossible because you wouldn't have been able to destroy the reactors in The Maw. Second, technically when a marine or ally NPC gets a kill in a vehicle you're driving, the game counts it as your kill so by letting them shoot in your vehicle you're "shooting" enemies. For specific notes: In H2 Gravemind you could've tricked the Hunters into falling the hole in the middle of the room. For H3 boarding Scarabs with ground vehicles isn't that tough if you know what you're doing, plus it's really fun! The one in The Ark I boarded it many times with a Chopper and a Grav Lift. Heck, that one may even be possible with a TANK!
And for those who called them out for playing on Easy, not everyone is a super hardcore pro at Halo. Try yourself on Legendary then. He just wanted to see if it was possible to do it without shooting, there was no need to make it harder. I've beaten Halo 1-5 plus ODST and Reach on Legendary Solo no Speedrun no Noob Combo, yet I play on Easy for fun at times. Fight me if you will.

When the game MAKES you do something your challenge is not a fail, you actually succeeded, the game literally made you shoot, so great job
another thing for the halo 3 scarabs is that is you damage the back enough it will fall off exposing the core, but that means you'd need enough grenades to blow out the back
One of my proudest moments was jumping a chopper onto the Scarab in that halo 3 desert level as a kid
Never knew about the elevator for the scarab? Easiest way to get on without taking out the legs, free sniper rifle at the top as well

same on the ark as well, we just used to grab a chopper and wait for the right timing before zooming onto it, using a grav-lift in that room under the ramp we used to use
