one time right at the end of the run one of the panels that explodes as a single full square landed right back on where it came from and made it look like it was just regular floor, i drove through it and you just fall as if it isn't there

I rage quit 15 times during my 1hr 40 min battle with Harbinger in Infinite on fucking NORMAL mode.
How the fuck this guy keeps his temper after all that is beyond me.
Honestly, i'm probably the same way. I play Yugioh, no game is ever going to be more frustrating and unfair than that.
Literally played Halo 3 SWAT today, all my teammates left and I had to clench my ass cheeks and just peek corners for 10 minutes until timer ran out. I won by 4 kills, lol.
He must really love halo 3. To be able to play that without rage but mean you love the game enough to play it indefinitely, that’s some passion!

now days i usually play them on legendary with a bunch of skulls. both funny ones and hard ones. that said i would never attempt a no death run on any of the games. fuck that. same goes for speed runs in general. i can deal with difficult but having to replay the whole game again and again just to say youve done that. not for me Xd

Good thing about Halo 3 LASO is that giving marines something like a Spartan laser and having them hop in a vehicle with you helps so much. I remember playing the Covenant and giving a marine one to have them on the back of a mongoose and obliterate things from a mile away.
I remember I watched a pacifist speedrun and the guy used marines with fuel rod guns lol

You can also do that in Halo 2, there's no spartan laser but give them SPNKR's or fuel rods and they shred. It's even more busted in Halo Infinite, give put 5 marines in the razorback with the unique skewer, and they are shooting down phantoms in seconds and taking down every enemy from a mile away. I used that strategy to get 100% in a LASO save
Bonus fun fact: In Halo CE, the Marines with snipers (Johnson and Stacker) are hilariously OP, in the 2nd level of CE put stacker in your warthog and you'll see how hilariously OP those marines are, I still wonder what the Marines with SPNKR's would have been like, I miss how aggressive marine AI was in CE
@@no-barknoonan1335 well the marines with snipers were exceptions considering how bad the ones were with the AR and their agresive trigger was when they got to low health. I recently played halo Ce on legendary and noticed compared to normal and heroic you get far less marines in some places . There are two marines with the sniper in the second mission and one of them was missing. After that on the snowy map usually when you get to the tank there is 5 marines on legendary it's just Johnson. Who gets shredded almost immediately since his close to a spawn of enemies. Or the third map on normal if you loose your marines in the ship when you reach the hangar you can get 5 more marines coming in . If you end up loosing them again you can disable the hangar door and get 5 more . On legendary you get none of that they all die in the first room and that's it , it's you and your sniper now
@@Assassin5671000 Yup, and they're not the most common like you state, but they Sniper marines nonetheless are superbly competent. The shotgun marines also are not bad, the AR marines are very bad in CE, but those marines are generally bad in every Halo game.

I appreciate the video a lot, but I think it’s a shame that streamer BarkBevestation was not mentioned. He not only spent a lot of time on this challenge but was one of the biggest developers of strats that ultimately made this challenge possible to complete. Much praise to Thesusx though. Incredible accomplishment.
Back when halo 3 came out I found a teleport spot on the covenant. It goes from the area before you enter the facility all the way to where the scarabs spawn. Although the way I did it was in multiplayer and to spawn a dead teammate above a barrier. But I’m sure it can be done without that.
Did the same as a kid. We had a party going on with the soccer team and we ended up just messing with it for hours trying to see how far we could get
It's impressive that people are creating even more challenges for Halo. As I casual player(who won't even do LASO normally) this doesn't interest me. But the dedication of the fanbase is what's important. This challenge here is why Halo will not die. It's the fans that keep it alive, and we will keep it going.
Now let's see how Halo 4 LASO Deathless turns out.
I think halo 4 deathless lasos been done before, And if not there's already clear routes layed out for laso at the very least
Halo Reach LASO Deathless is probably going to be the most brutal IMO.

@I Explodonater I Fair, levels/sections of levels without Noble Team would be very painful. The Sabre sequence, Exodus, and many other parts/levels will be very painful.

@@carsonhunt4642 H2 is significantly more difficult on the whole, it's just the specifics of deathless with laso that make particular levels of H3 more "challenging."
@@ChromeDaimao for me h2 was easy because of the speed run tricks , many still usable in laso. In h3 I found couldn’t use almost any of them, making it very hard to play legit. Many of the tricks used in this vid were not around years ago , or if was, was not popular and known

15:15 my friend and I did this when we were trying to beat halo 3 on legendary the first time, one of us would stay in the chopper and the other would go out to spot for the guy on the chopper and pick off the people they could. and if the guy spotting dies we'd switch places

Best friend from Halo 3 days and I tried Laso on Halo 3 on MMC a few years ago.
We spent 9~ hours on mission 1 and got about half way through. The way that grind developed was insane, actually.
The servers crashed, though...

H3 Catch nade spams are beyond insane, in ODST they react even faster than jackal snipers.
There have been way too many instances where I managed to land surprise headshots on grunts and they still managed to throw blind nades.
I love how you talk about Heroes of the Storm being a Dragonforce song (it's actually "Fury of the Storm") while a keyboard version of Through the Fire and Flames is playing in the background 🤣🤣🤣
Brute shot blade will almost always one hit tank forms, and taking Cortana slower might be safer. It honestly seems like he is rushing too fast and taking slightly too much risk. Sometimes bulldozing is the way. Speed can come later.
The problem with cortana is that there are rooms where you just get shot at from 20 different angles, and you get lit up if you try to take your time. That may be well and good on legendary, with with no way to regenerate shields, you can't afford to do that.
So instead you gotta just plow through faster than the AI can target you and pray it works
Having beaten halo 3 on legendary, i can assure you that i have not been dropped on the head enough times to try and do a LASO run much less deathless. I’d have to be brain damaged to even try knowing how bad levels like Cortana are in regular ole legendary
Having done the same I can confidently say people overstate the hardness of cortana on legendary. It's the easiest level to beat since the level is really generous with weapons and equipment.

Hell I just started MCC again after 5 year hiatus. I am going through all campaigns solo legendary and am on Halo 2 currently. LASO deathless would give me too much stress. Props to this for sure. Good luck on the trilogy deathless.
The first time I played Halo 3 on MCC I accidently played the LASO campaign and I was like "why tf can't I see the hud, and why am I dying so much?" Then I realized I was plating the LASO campaign and said wow I'm dumb
I've done every LASO campaign except CE, and 2. Halo 3 LASO was by far the most chill LASO of the bunch, and provided a challenging but not overtly frustrating experience.
I actually feel like with a bit of practice I could probably do it deathless without too much issue.

I may or may not know a bit about this subject...around 2008-2009 there was a group of people doing this sort of stuff and finishing all the levels, no deaths, on the Bungie forums - but no one was crazy enough to try and do the whole campaign start to finish this way. My money would be on any of them if they still do this stuff today. Doesn't help the difficulty of each campaign level differs (The Flood is the easiest but comes sandwich between The Storm, which is about in the middle, and The Ark which is a candidate for hardest (long level so plenty of things can go wrong).
So uh... y'know, godspeed to the madlads trying to do it. Not sure if Tyrant's guide is still around or not but it can help since that was one of the things that came out of it.

Honestly, its so cool seeing the Halo franchise live on by MCC games, the newer games just don't feel like Halo, and i don't want to start the debated "Halo bad" or "Halo good" stuff, i just mean its moved forward, for better or worse. Regardless, seeing the OG 3 (and odst with reach) still have such a dedicated community make these challenges is so just fun to watch.

A Halo GodRun would be something else, the SoulsBorn God run is a work of art, but trying to imagine a Halo one slowly adding each game to the roster sounds like plenty of content to be made and plenty of fun to be had

It’s not “frame perfect” you just have to blast the hatch open without beatdowns/grenades and kill the brute in there with a headshot. Frame perfect has nothing to do with it
If I remember right, I actually beat most of the levels solo "LASO*" but the * is I took off the Blind skull. I HATE that one. Also, very much not without dying. And that is where I'll leave it. Never gonna attempt to fully LASO it, even with deaths allowed.
That Cortana panel isn't rare. It happens very consistently when I play it.
The first ever Recon set I saw in Halo 3 was given to a player who sent in recordings of himself beating the campaign on "Mythic" difficulty, as LASO wasn't a term back then. So cool to see back in the day, and made it such a goal to get all achievements in Halo 3 and ODST for that set.
when my friend and i tried to beat halo 3 LASO, tough luck was 100% the hardest skull to get used to. grunts straight up light you up even when they’re the last one alive. our strategy was to kill the brutes first since they can basically one shot you, but if you’re not keeping track of the grunts you get punished almost immediately. 3 plasma rounds to the ass cheek and you’re dead.
Thesusx literally beat Halo 3 the way it’s meant to be beaten… Impossible for everyone else in the game, but Chief pretty much cannot die lol.

It's kinda surreal to see my own legendary techniques described as "clever" "interesting" or "wildly innovative/advanced." Like... who didn't juggle the camos in cortana? My god, I can't imagine. Never did a deathless laso, so kudos to the kid, but still... weird.

Deathless LASO trilogy should be done in correct order, you can't do the missions in a gane out of order, keep the ganes in order too, makes the whole thing more special if the narrative follows alomg

Something I found when doing normal LASO was that the energy sword killed tanks basically immediately and same for the wall crawlers. Higher risk (slightly) but better for getting through faster which is what you need on Cortana
The Panel death on Cortana happened to me 2 years ago playing Legendary with a friend, I was ahead in the rush out, and it caught me completely by surprise.
At this rate by 2050 we will be seeing blindfolded laso deathless runs
Just a guess, but that mission where you save Cortana is why. That mission alone is extremely hard with all skulls on, beating it without dying is nigh impossible. Ive beaten it LASO, but never without dying.
The panel flying at him at 28:58 happens to me every time I play through a laso, I think it has something to do with the cowbell skull. That ambient explosion is amplified and sends the panel flying almost every time, unless I'm really just that unlucky💀

That one an a million chance why h3 is still my favorite video game of all time and why halo needs a return to physics based gameplay.

Idk if halo 3 LASO is harder than 2, or if its just that we didn't see all the work and theory crafting put into halo 2 LASO until more recently. I could certainly be wrong, just a theory really.

I tried my first Halo 3 LASO run a few months back. I could barely get past the first half of Sierra 117 after like an hour of trying, let alone being able to beat the whole game!

Halo ce laso is easily the hardest imo.
There's more RNG then any other halo and it isn't just rng that might make it harder no its rng that makes it cause a restart.
An example is truth and reconciliation the hardest level.
When you get to the lift room you half to hope that the camo elite or the first wave spawns on the right side and after you get in the hall and wait for all of the waves to get done spawning you half to hope that it didn't spawn to many golden elites and hope that the grunt explosions kill them or you half to restart.
If it's just one or maybe 2 elites left then you might get threw it but if there's more then your done.
You also half to hope that while your sniping grunts/throwing grenades in that one of the golden elites doesn't enrage and chase you until you kill him.
What about that lone rocket flood on two betrayals? I feel like that part is somewhat of a gamble on whether you live or instantly die.

It wouldn't be worth going for in a deathless run.
I can see why Halo 3 would be harder. While Halo 2 LASO was so obnoxiously difficult unless you could repeatedly melee people thanks to the physics changes it was also a pretty broken game with tons of exploits and skips that you could take advantage of. To my limited knowledge Halo 3 doesn’t have as nearly many tricks as 2 does which means you’re going to have to fight your way through a lot of the game, massively increasing your odds of getting killed by a box flying into your skull at Mach speed courtesy of four Grunts deciding they want to empty their stock of plasma grenades.

I mean it just makes no fucking sense for him to keep dying in that same exact spot 2-3 times. He created that reality by becoming so fixated paranoid about the improbability of what was happening that it actually became reality.
I just beat Halo 3 on Legendary while watching this video. Im planning on beating every game legendary (so far I've got Reach and 3 down) before moving on to trying LASO runs. Ill never be able to do a Deathless run, but I'm sure I'll be able to do LASO on at least one game.
yeah soloing halo 3 legendary was such a grind for me as a lad.
