No. I cannot just stamp the VIN myself. It will be obvious and will not pass the annual vehicle inspection due to tampered VIN. The correct way should have been to take the old and new frame to the Ministry of Transport and let them stamp the VIN. Then they will take note of this on the vehicle registration book. However, I was not able to do that for many years since the accident. I already lost the original receipt from the store I bought the frame. The Honda dealer where I bought the frame got out of business. This is in Thailand and the people at the Ministry of Transportation are not very helpful. I was basically told that it is impossible.
Thanks. This must be one of my favorite project I did because I'm very glad with the outcome. It is very hard to tell that the head tube is not one piece.
Thanks. Some people criticize messing with the head tube saying it is not safe. But if you look at the process I did, the structural integrity is not really affected because I essentially did not remove the old tube. The welds I did only serve cosmetic purpose.
This has to be the most satisfying project I ever did with my bike because the result is very convincing. I had it for several years now and encountered no problems.
what country is this? its crazy that government ask to do such lol they could have just stamped it in with tools if you show the original frame with the number, this is ridiculous lmao
Thailand po. Matagal kasi bago ipapa vehichle inspection.
Hi. If you look closely on the video, I did not cut off the part that hold the upper and lower steering bearings so there is definitely no change in the position. Only a small portion of the metal that has the VIN is cut off and replaced.
This is bike saver! Great technique and detailed step by step explanation. Such an amazing procedure.
Glad you like it! This has to be one of my favorite project. The end result is so neat I can barely tell from the outside that the frame was altered.
can you not get stamps with identical font to the original and just stamp the numbers on the donor frame?

That is a very very very neat weld you did!

Nice. I used to search the internet for someone who have done this just to confirm that it is doable, but did not find any. Good luck.

Sir sang honda ka naka bili.ng bagong chassis
Sa Thailand pa po. Lahat ng parts ng CRF250/300L nabibili dito online.
not advisable, it will make your motorcycle wiggle if theres a little miscalculation of the position,
