    Hey guys, yes, he used my oven. Lol.
    It’s ok. If he is happy, then I am too. I’m very proud of my hubby. Good work love, keep it up 😃❤️

      D Powter, You are very lucky because Aaron told us he was going to put the whole bike in the oven as opposed to just the triple clamp...lol..Ricko...Ciao

    Thanks for the mention Aaron. I'm glad you enjoyed the CAD model. Feel free to share it with others as you see fit. I have to say your wife has more patience than mine with any shop items in the kitchen. There is nothing quite like the taste of cutting oil in her freshly baked goods! A new furnace for the shop might be on the Christmas wish list if you can help your wife can recover with a smile. As for your next sledgehammer press approach, you might want to try machining a pair of tapered shims to press on both sides of the bearing more evenly. You had me cringing with the cold chisel but your gear head experience seems to have paid off in the end. I shared the same great big hallelujah with you for the achievement. Thanks for sharing!

      G'day Stephen. Yes that's how I got busted. She could smell the coolant on the part evaporating off 😅. A pair of tapered shims would work well, but the "old mechanic in me" came flooding back and the rest was history (whack, crack, bam). Thanks again for taking the time to 3D model that machinist jack for me. I really appreciate it. We will talk more about it on the next video. Cheers, Aaron.

    I can just see my teachers yelling "use a face plate!" at the screen, but the vise looks like a way faster way of getting it done. I'm going to try a bit of oil for my next interference fit! Thanks Aaron :)

    • @AaronEngineering
      @AaronEngineering  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Adam. You’re right I could have used a face plate, but the time required to set it up and use it etc... The CNC was so much faster 😆. PS: the oil works a treat 👍🍻

      G'day Peter. I'm doing really well thanks for asking mate. Back at school this week with actual students so that has made me happy.
      Rohan's triple clamp was a tough little job and the old cold chisel method was a tad rough, but it got it done. Hope you're well buddy? Cheers mate, Aaron.

    Abom would have been able to hold it in a 4 jaw chuck to bore it 😜 Cool video Aaron. Well done as always.

    • @AaronEngineering
      @AaronEngineering  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day Kevin. Yes he probably could. If I had a small boring head I would have done it on the manual milling machine. Oh well, CNC for the win today 😅. Cheers mate.

      Hi Joe trust you are well? Yes that works well also. I let Rohan reassemble it as I'm unsure if he wants to replace that bearing. I would have replaced it. Cheers, Aaron.

    Hi Aaron,
    A nice little project there... shame you got busted using the oven. I have been looking at those toaster ovens for the workshop from the US that seem to get quite hot.
    Take care

      Hi Paul. Yes we have one of those toaster ovens at school for doing plastics in. I bring meat pies into the workshop and stick them in. My students love it 😅. Have your stickers arrived yet? I think they shouldn't be too far away. Cheers, Aaron.

    How's it going Lightning.
    Nice little project.
    Heating shop jobs in your wife's oven, seems you want to make your own dinner from
    now on, LOL.
    Same part i will need to do on my next Mission. ( sneak peak of what's up next ?? )
    After the Mazak is back in one piece LOL.
    Slow going at the moment plenty of small jobs but nothing video worthy as yet.
    Good to see you adding to the tool inventory.
    A workshop can never have to many tools.
    Don't worry what your wife tells you about this theory.
    Always point them back to the shoe cupboard if some questions are asked ??
    Looking forward to see what's in the box on next weeks show.

      G’day Peter. Yes she wasn’t happy with me using her oven to heat my parts. However this backyard method worked a treat. Di’s really good and is low maintenance, I’m the one who spends too much money. Luckily for me she doesn’t keep that close of tabs on me or the bank balance 😂.
      Looking forward to seeing what you have install for us in your next video Peter.

    My bike is duke200 I had changed the cone&ball today still my bike handle is jerking . My mechanic told me that I need to replace Upper Steering stem ( Top Triple Clamp jg151002 ) .. what's your opinion about this .!

    • @AaronEngineering
      @AaronEngineering  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unsure to be honest mate. I’d replace both upper and lower bearing set. I would check to ensure the shaft is straight and not bent. Hope this helps? 🍻

    • @AbhilashRS
      @AbhilashRS 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AaronEngineering u mean lower T stem ,right?

    • @AaronEngineering
      @AaronEngineering  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AbhilashRS The shaft the bearing rotate on. If the handlebar jerks or feels notchy when turning left or right it is usually because the bearings are too tight or worn out. I'd listen to your bike mechanic or get a second opinion buddy. I've been out of the mechanical game for 20 years.
      PS: the reason I said check the shaft for straightness is because it could be bent from a crash or heavy impact.

    Gday Aaron, thanks to the guys for drawing up the plans, the screen shot looks great, you did a good job on the triple clamp, when the clamp was in the oven did it give off much smell?, I reckon I’d be divorced if I did this at home, You wouldn’t have a spare clamp I can borrow, asking for a friend😂, great video mate, take care, Matty

    • @AaronEngineering
      @AaronEngineering  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Matty. Yes it was very kind of Stephen and Dwayne for doing that. If it's ok with you, I'll will share the links to the CAD files in the next video mate? The triple clamp came out great and young Rohan was very happy with it. I sent me an instagram message last night and the bike was all back together. Yes the oven gave off some nasty coolant / oil smell when I got her up to 230 degrees Celsius. Yeah Di is a good sport and usually turns a blind eye to my crazy shenanigans LOL. Does your young bloke ride motorcycles and is he after a triple clamp? Cheers, Aaron.

    Nice work on that project Aaron, and you didn't even need to get a grinder to it 😉. Was that 220º C or F? Ciao, Marco.

    • @AaronEngineering
      @AaronEngineering  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day Marco. Yes it was 220 degrees Celsius. You know how I love my communist units over your freedom units. To be honest I usually would have cut the cage off the bearing, nick the inner race with a grinder and then gave it a good hard crack with that cold chisel and they usually fall off. However, I wasn't sure if young Rohan wanted to reuse the bearing again. Great to see you back flying the big stuff again mate. Cheers, Aaron.

    There's any way to fix or refill a dented area on one of this clamps? I'm having a hard time finding an original one for my ktm in good shape.Looks like most of them are damaged in the same area where they have the steering bolt stopper.Thanks in advance!
