There is only one way to deal on new. Call all dealers in your area ask if they will beat other dealer price. eliminate ones that won't. Go to first dealer get price. Sit at sales pwrsons desk start calling the other dealers that will negotiate. Go back and forth untill the best price is obtained. Ive done it many timea
Not only do dealerships often have special or promotional rates, many times there will be an additional rebate, or even a deeper discount on the price as well. Another thing you can do is make the deal on the third, second or last day of the month. I started with the 3rd to the last day, because if they don't make the deal that you are comfortable with, often times they will call you back on the last day just so they can make their quota for certain incentives that the manufacturers pay to the dealerships for hitting certain numbers.
I Don't know anyone willing to spend 85 grand on a pickup.. Maybe someone in the trades That needs a write off on taxes But not your average guy. I bought my wife a Mazda cx5 about a year ago. Walked in test drove it made an otd offer Several thousand less than dealer cost, they took it. The key is be ready to buy now only make an out the door offer , if you're financing have your approval in hand if they want to stall be ready to walk out... And do it. Once you know how much you're going to spend out front, be firm. It's no negotiating after your offer period.
The part i dont understand is what leverage do you have to negotiate if THAT particular model isnt being discounted to begin with. Its easy pickins if there is a dealer some where doing it. But you have to have compelling reasons to negotiate them down
@@richvangorder3900 if it’s not discontinued at all look how long the vehicle has been on the lot. If it’s been sitting that is something you can bring up in your negotiations. Also contact the dealer the last few days of the month, they will have more insensitive to sell to hit there month end numbers.
I tried the site you suggested and this is in western Canada, it did not show a fraction of the trucks I know are listed on various dealerships in the area. But that was not the main reason I spoke up as while the theme seems to be of youtubers walking around dealers lots and claiming the sky is falling on the dealerships and they are so desperate, that certainly has not been the theme with heavy duty trucks where I am. Ok so yes GM had and may still have incentives on whatever 2024 models they may have in stock which in some instances is not much, however on 2025 models and I will zero in on the larger GM dealership in my area. So they had a certain price listed on trucks that are physically sitting on their lot which were MSRP prices, however now those listed prices are crossed out and the price went UP, yes now the price is around 3000.00 above MSRP on the Denali trim and 6000.00 tacked on to the Denali Ultimate trim HD trucks. So tell me how that shows they are desperate to deal, seems to me they are saying F U to the customer getting a deal here and better buy one before we jack the price up even more !.
@@charlesb4267 yeah that’s BS, I absolutely hate the mark ups. I’m not sure how it works buying out of the country but, there are deals to be had here in the US, it just takes a bit of searching, and you have to be willing to have the vehicle shipped or to go pick it up yourself. Another this to try is call the dealer the last few days of the month.
@@TrucksandBucks I don't believe its possible or easily so to buy new across the border and keep in mind we would probably get hosed all the more on currency exchange. However what was happening the last four years if not more due to a lack of trucks being produced for the USA consumer, unscrupulous brokers from the US were contacting people up here promising a buyer of a local vehicle to buy their truck after a six month or one year ownership and no more than xxx miles driven and they were buying it for the same price as what the first owner bought it for at the dealership. For example a truck with close to 50000 miles and may have a pile of winter idling time on the engine to boot, the broker would fly one of his hired guys up here to hop in that used pickup and drive it down to the states where it would then be sold, from what I understand some of these trucks would be sold from dealer lots in the US so another words some US vehicle dealerships were in on this racket as well. All that did was jack up the price of new vehicles here as they were flying off the dealers lots as fast as they were being delivered from the factory. The guys up here who were buying and flipping the trucks through the US brokers were laughing ... the dealerships up here were laughing all the way to the bank, however all this caused the used ( worn out rusted ) trucks left on the market here to demand top dollar and all these trucks that left this country with lower miles are gone, they do not exist on our used market period. So that whole scheme has damaged our market for more sought after trucks at affordable prices. Some truck owners up here had flipped trucks at least 4 if not more times and all for free, zero depreciation. None of this ever should have been allowed but yet it was and so in present day, I just can't figure out what some dealerships are doing such as the one I described, some other dealerships in other places in Canada will either MSRP or a small discount on 2025 models and again I am referring to GM and Ford as well but in the heavy duty truck market. Ram, well they are all over the map with prices but have had some deep discounts on 2024 model half tons to get anyone to bite on their product. Sorry for the long post but wanted to explain the insanity of the shipping of the lesser used trucks with warranty intact to the south leaving buyers here not in a good position. You also may be able to tell that I think dealerships are a bunch of slime balls ... typically they earn that designation well sadly !
There are even more trucks on lots now than ever,at a price than most people cant or want to aford. They are going to have to bring the prices down to near where they were along time ago.. Especially being tgat the trucks today are poorly made,by the big 3 .GM IS out selling Ford ram and with good reason ,but GM quality isn't much better. So as far as im concerned they can rust on the lots ,till they are sold for what they are worth.

Best truck if you like your transmission breaking. Ford F250 6.7 high output powerstroke is the best truck right now
