People have grown tired of these auto makers building an inferior product and demanding a premium price. The jig is up.
It's just inflation, go look at house prices, rent prices etc etc etc

When they have to deal with union labor, this is what you get.
The most telling thing in that video is the lack of people at the show - it looks like a ghost town.
1000%. My dad and I use to go all the time in our city and it was always packed. Stop going after he pass. Was going to go this year with my kid but didn't really see the point of going to look at cars 30k+ over what they should be.
The day the earth. Stopped
Mine was $77k with long range battery and that was during Covid. Ive owned F-150’s my entire adult life. My last one had the Eco boost V6. It was a great truck but doesn’t compare to the Lightning for all the reasons I mentioned
It could be Media Day
Don't need an auto show to see those vehicles. Plenty sitting on dealer lots unsold you can go look at.
Even Toyota quality has dipped which I never thought would happen. Sign of the times
Yes, Toyota is replacing all 2022 and 2023 Tundra engines over the next year. Just a dip.😂
@dvader3263 At least they replaced the engines. Hyundai/KIA has been building garbage engines for over 15 years, and they never replaced any as a preventive measure.
Car manufactures just got lazy and stopped caring.
Not surprising when you could price everything to the moon and it would still fly off the shelves.
Hopefully Toyota bounces back strong.
@@AJourneyOfYourSoul it really started when the vehicles were manufactured in North America.
@@AJourneyOfYourSoulthey got lazy because not only were brain dead moronic Americans buying their crap, but they were paying 10-15-20-30k dollar dealer adjustments on top 🔝 f the asking price and financing it all. Too Much Technology in the New Vehicles that People Do NOT Want.

I like the tech for the most part actually. I just want it to be better built and integrated.

i went to the largest ford dealer in the usa to look at a bronco. over 70k? they had hundreds of cars sitting on a back lot rotting away in the sun....
People are not buying... good.
Make them a lowball offer. Start at $10 and go from there. I wouldn't go past $5000 for these ugly monstrosities.
Which dealership was it?
And that's where they will stay. $70,000 for a Bronco? Ford has completely lost touch with their loyal followers. COMPLETELY!
@@trumpius_maximus47Bill Brown Ford here in Michigan makes that claim on billboards, don’t know if it’s true, look at the source.

It's not just vehicles. Production of EVERYTHING has moved out of the USA, they have cheapened up every part, and added a lot of tech. Failure is inevitable.
My next car is going to be a rail car!! Probably LS to Porsche transaxle dry sump 2000 lbs should last rest of my life!
Fools who buy Toyotas because they need no maintenance (heard a Tundra owner - RV towing - say that). Good luck with the 10k miles oil change interval😂😂
I’ll have my engines and transmissions rebuilt before I buy another new car at those prices.
Keep the morons for crashing into you; I'm on the search now 😭
Not buying because they're overprice lol.
Exactly, it’s not rocket science! People had extra money in 2020-2022, those days are gone but dealers won’t roll back their massive price increases or start making more lower level trims.
Fords are overpriced these days. Who can afford a $70k F150 living on a paycheck. They got rid of the Ecosport, Focus, Fusion, etc. They need to bring back affordable cars, though that is for all automakers. Honda needs to bring back the Fit.
You can still get a cheaper truck You just have to get an XL but most people want to get the flashy nice truck and yeah those are expensive.
Most people are also clueless on what options come on what trim levels anymore. They think the XL is a work truck with manual windows but Ford hasn't put manual windows in a truck and years. Most people will be completely happy with an XL
@@WickedSlammywho are most people??? I don't think you know these people. Yes people would like something flashy, but in the end people want AFFORDABLE....NOT Flashy.

Nope... under $20K or I'll keep driving my old car. Time to get back to basics like they did in the early 80's....or go out of business.
Still driving my 2002 Saturn S car. Price new, around $13k. And yes, I have spent a thousand here and a thousand there on maintenance over the years. But still no where totaling $20k all combined.
Lolol. My 2004 F150 leftover in 2005 had 35k on the sticker, got it for 28k. I don't think you will ever see 20K again.
@@JamesAgans And yet few are buying the $35K stuff. That's why the whole auto market is failing. They aren't giving us what we can afford.
You could do a resto-mod for under 20k. I'm waiting for banks to stop financing overpriced vehicles and start financing resto-mods.
That doesn’t make sense given inflation over the time. When you do the math a 20k truck 20 years ago is about 55k in today’s money… I just want yall to have real discussions not just passion statements please. 🙏🏾
Beer doesn't make the Bronco better
Even a very good scotch can't do that!

Should have interviewed some manufactures and ask them what they will do to get people into 100k pickup trucks.

You know what’s crazy? Today I was on the phone with a dealer about a purchase. I’m interested in a 2024 model that’s been sitting on their lot for 200 days. And yet, they’re still playing games with "appearance protection packages" and offering different discounts on their website compared to what they tell you over the phone. Unbelievable.

@LafemmebearMusic. Right? 34k I would agree. 24k I could understand.....I have a used truck for less than that. 19,500 in 2018. That is like 24 grand with inflation now. But 14k? Thats just delusion or "internet tough guy talk." When has a new truck ever been 14k? 1970?

Mine. 2005. 97K miles. Everyday driver. < $2K yr, fuel,insurance,taxes, service. I got a good one.
It’s the turbo charged engines in the newer ones. The older naturally aspirated engines were pretty good.
I bought a 2001 Hyundai Accent brand new for $12,500. Drove it problem free to 228,000 miles and then sold it for $1,200 ten years later. My next new car will be a Kia Rio because nobody else makes a new vehicle for $15k.
Yup Lots of mechanics on TH-cam are scraping 2019s can’t get parts or have to replace engines and the cost doesn’t make sense and they are on back order because of the high failure rate and high demand.

stealerships are the downfall of the industry...they fill their lots with overpriced vehicles that THEY spec, advertise the 1 of a kind stock # that miraculously always sells the morning you schedule a test drive then try to get you into what THEY think you want/need. had a Sales Manager at a local FORD outfit chase us down cause we wouldn't fall for their BS. Then find out a friend spent 12 hours trying to get the truck they wanted.
Dealership system is outdated, they are just middlemen and have no benefit to the transaction. there has been a sh*t load of outcry from dealerships over VW's intention of selling their "new" line of EV directly to consumers, like Tesla does, the VW Scout. other start up ev companies can get around the dealerships because they have zero contracts with them, for example Aptera.

They're not only overpriced. They'll not last.
Small, overstressed engines with a myriad of plastic parts, with complexity, computers and electronics to the wazoo, is a solid recipe for early failure.
Most of these newer vehicles will not make it to 100K miles.
Past the warranty, they will be a nightmare in repairs, and technicians cannot fix them due to the ridiculous complexity and then the already existing parts shortages and crazy parts prices on top of all that...
The car industry is going down slowly by the "death by a thousand cuts" - but most of it is their own making, driven by wanton, unbridled greed, for ever higher profits and for their shares price increase.
I'm honestly curious if, "they'll not last" is grammatically correct or not...
So much Bell n Wistle that is Standard and MOST don’t need or want .
What about a basic 3/4 ton , full size, stick shift, pick up truck, 8 ft bed, ?
They can't justify the inflated price if they keep it basic...think of all the poor engineers that would be out of work if they didn't cram all that junk into cars.
for me paying another 30%-50% of the base price of a car just in options is a huge no no

I bought a Camry XSE 5 or so years ago and it was about $31k, with the Softex seats, panoramic sunroof, etc. It is crazy to see it be 30% higher. The Tundra TRD Sport 4x4 I have now costs almost $20k more for the current equivalent model.
I was at my Toyota dealer last week for 5,000-mile service, and I took a walk through the new car lot. I was stunned to see Camrys pushing $40K. Camrys! I could get a Crown (successor to the Avalon) for just $3K more.
It’s crazy. 30 years ago an LE was about 20K and it crept up ever so slightly over the years. Then the prices over the past 5 years have gone crazy. The crazier part is that many Toyotas are on hold or sold before they even reach the dealer. With the exception of Tundras the Toyota dealer lots are empty, or have mostly used cars that are way over priced.
Ford used to understand that if you sold a basic vehicle for a low enough price, you made your money on volume of sales. Kept your workforce employed, everyone was happy. Now we're hanging onto our old vehicles or doing without.
We’ve doubled the money in our economy in 5 years. The dollar is diluted and so these prices are the new normal. Wont be going down.
Yup. Most don't get it. They'll be waiting for the price of houses and cars to get cheaper the rest of their lives

Hyundai peaked in the early 2000s. I've had 3 of the XG350 cars. Every one has lasted to 200K miles or over. The newer models suck.
The new ones are pure junk; a search on YT on THAT new Santa Fe shows the transmission going out---brand new.

I am hanging on to my 2006 Forester. Ex cond, loaded and a manual. Runs great !
V8 Forever baby! Defund the EPA and their ridiculous standards that forced cars to get so expensive
Here's the big problem: When you add together designing, testing, retooling factories, and the myriad of other functions required for a new/redesigned model, it doesn't cost much more to manufacture a large vehicle than a smaller economy vehicle. The difference in cost of the actual steel and other materials involved is almost inconsequential. BUT the auto manufacturers can sell the larger/more luxury models for a much greater margin. A dealer would probably have to sell at least three of the Ford Focus models to make the same profit as one Ford F-150.

$32k bronco, great but it sure as shit won't be that in a dealership with markups and addons.
Unfortunately the engines they are putting in these vehicles are made to last through the warranty and then start to give the buyer problems. Hey, car shows are great. Once my dad realized I was a car guy, he stopped trying to get me to run around on grass playing with "balls". We would hit the custom show in the spring then the international show in the fall. Thrilling good times. New=throw away, doesn't matter which place makes it. The parts used to make them don't last. Thanks, diggin your show. ANB
Congrats Subaru for becoming the most reliable car brand, beating out Toyota and Honda. Toyota, you’ve destroyed your quality overnight. Shame.
My concern in the new vehicle is the engines. You need an affordable car, suv or truck with an engine that will last. They don't make engines that last any more. Turbo charged 4 cylinders are no good for heavy SUV's and Trucks.
There is a brand new Bronco parked close to the Highway at our local dealer with a big sign that says, "Price reduced by $8000" I drive by there every day and it's been there like that for about two weeks.
I saw a 2023 tundra four-wheel-drive platinum, in the used cars at a Kia dealership, and it was 59,977!!
Somebody couldn't afford those monthly payments.
More vehicles there than people.
He put 675K miles on his Toyota. Bet it was a naturally aspirated V8, and not a turbo 4cyl.
If they did away with the entertainment center on the dash, that should cut costs. Just looking inside the car it looks way too distracting.
I love the color of that Bronco.
The most appealing vehicles at this show are the classics….Insurance Premiums must be sky high on a 50 thousand grocery getter also…better call your insurance guy before u consider buying new.
Putting a 4 cylinder engine in the "Big Bronco" is flawed marketing at best. Asking $40k for it is ludicrous.
I bought a perfect low Milage Porsche 911 for less than that 32k Brono, and got all the creature comforts too. Automakers are smoking crack. was going to buy new but decided Used BECAUSE of these insane prices. and I could easily afford a 90k car... but WHY makes no sense
Now they're smoking meth
That Bronco scheme is a throw back to the 70s
Newest vehicle in front of my house is a 2019 CRV purchased in March of 2020. The oldest is a 2013 Fiat 500C. I drive defensively because a total loss is the only way I would replace any of them and I have zero interest in replacing any of them
BEER? WHO SAID BEER AND WHERE IS IT? that's reason enough to go to the car show. apparently the big 3 automakers still haven't learned from their perrninal spanking from the asian automakers, especially the toyotas and to a lesser extent subarus.
The yellow on that Bronco is a throw back to 1966 and that is a Heritage Limited. That is why it is there.
The seats in that Tundra look like they were sewn by a 6 year old . What crap !
When you see a price labeled as "starting at" you can be sure it is a configuration that they only created to justify that price, but you will never see it put on the configurator or come out of the factory for retail sale. It's the model they made up that doesn't have a motor or interior, but can be ordered to put on top of one of those big poles to advertise a dealership.
I can confirm you can pick up a Outer Banks Ford Bronco Sport for the $32K MSRP (well under actually). Last week in October, my ex bought one for $31,200 out the door (6% sales tax). Next closest dealer was $33,000 out the door.
im surprised the year end close outs haven't showed up for ford yet the incentives suck and the price is 10-15k more than what they were going for 3 years ago
I will buy a truck when I can get…..
3/4 ton, v8, manual transmission, hand crank windows with a smoker’s window(wing windows) and a AM/FM stereo. 40k with towing package. Till then I will keep my 26 years old truck.
