Awesome tip thank you! P.s salt will freeze but will take longer. Make a bottle of water roughly 1 tablespoon of salt to 1ltr ratio. I put this in a coolbox for bait and it was stay frozen for over 48hrs. And will be the coldest cool box you've ever had 😉(give it at least 12hrs in freezer before use)

Hi I live in Chatham and me and my boyfriend have been going fishing a lot lately do u know where the best spots to go bait pumping around here in Kent?
For me Gavin I have caught enough whithing and dogs go last me a life time so I'm going all out big hooks and big bait thst will apply to all my fishing this winter I'm only interested in cod but if you are just out to catch fish any rig and most baits will get plenty of whithing this time of year mate
Hi I have got a question can I put all the lugworm in a tub and cover them with salt and keep them in a tub or do I have to put them in newspaper. And the same for ragworm would it be ok to keep them in a tub and cover them in salt
bloody great vid , cheers . Just what i been looking for, i have started sea fishing Beach/Kayak around littlehampton way and ain't really got a clue about either , so your videos are being a Massive help . Thanks a lot . Baz 👍👍
I need to get my arse out on the decent low tides instead of buying Solent blacks. The Lug Ive found is always small, good enough for flatties but nothing decent. Pump or dig ?
I use to do this when I use to sea fish more than I do now late 80's to late 90's. I only get out 4-5 times a year due to match fishing and I've had pretty much everything that swims in the Humber(whiting lol) I've had dabs, sole, plaice, bass, and some nice fat codling, even had a few smoothhounds on salted lug n squid and salted lug n crab on the lincs coast and best of all, rockling..lol Have you ever used an inline-block ended swimfeeder full of all the crap you'd never use on the hook?? Also adding fish oil and ground-up halibut pellets seems to get the flatties going, eels love it to. Always pack it down so you get the scent slowly releasing. Anyone else ever use swimfeeders?????
I was wondering whether people ever use swimfeeders in the sea ... have you had much success using them? To me it sounds a good idea as the fish will be attracted to all that scent near the hook. ?

@@ecologygarden I used what i had left from a course match a few days before, that i froze added blitzed muscles, and manky lug, and a drop of salmon oil. Run that above my lead free running between my lead and first hook swivel and for flattys it works well and it works in my local docks as well for everything from small whiting to mullet and eels. I've even had a few bass and mackerel in the docks. I'm yet to try it when cod fishing. It adds loads of scent into the water and crans can be a pain.
@@FishHunterUK you should try round by the power station sometime supposed to be good cos the waters warm.not for cod obviously. Some cod have been caught in littlehampton already so they are about

@@FishHunterUK thanks for the reply I can't pump as am land locked 😭 but I have buy frozen lug it's £5 for 10 so only take one pack as I think there a rip off
I have salted ragworm before and the method certainly works. I can't say how well it caught as I used it to bulk out fresh worm baits rather than on its own but it certainly didn't seem to put the fish off. I would definitely do it again with leftover bait as I hate throwing it away
Great video mate thanks for sharing, we pump for blow lugs every time before we go out down near liverpool and always end up with loads of worms left end up chucking or giving them away to other anglers, my mate said let's try and put some sand in the bucket and keep them there for few days in the shed! after second day the whole 9 story apartment stunk of dead worms haha told him it will not work but he wouldn't listen :D I will defo try this method next time when we have some worms left over, obviously get all the guts out before soaking them in the salt. cheers mate and good luck on your Cod hunt

Pump mate you won't find blacks everywhere that's the problem
Great for preserving them but can't beat fresh. Also I've found that fish don't really like the high salt content of them.

Do they have to go in the fridge after they’re salted? My missus would go potty.
Always wondered how they did this. Cheers 😀👍

Gut them first, happened to me the first time. These people don't quite explain everything.
hi, can you do the same with `blow lug` or is there another way, cheers, Len (Margate)
Yeah you can do it with blow lug, same about all the species of ragworm
@@andabossftw what the exact same as he is doing you can do with blow lug ?
Salted black lug lovely
Can you do this with any type of lug ? Blow lug etc ?
I can't see why not mate but you will have to squeeze all the guts out of them so they need to be quite big if thst makes sence
Can you salt rag as well?
Brilliant stuff. There really is no bait like it.
when you slap them down to make them more stiff does this work with ragworm
No mate it's just splits them bud
Makes them more floppy I feel
Thanks 😊I have 90 lug worms to make in salt :) then happy days go sea fishing :D
