- How long before your PhD degree thesis defense or exam should you start applying for a postdoc positions? Different approaches are mentioned for foundation postdocs and for job postdocs. A tactic of using two postdocs to advance in your academic and research career is proposed.

Sir i have done my PhD final viva and submitted my final thesis hardbound to the university. I have total 6 publications 2 are from scopus. Also i have 1 conference presentation in USA in 2017. I wan to apply for postdoc job in uk. Can i apply for this. It is eligible?
Yes you can certainly apply. Papers are only part of the process. The field also matters as there is more funding in certain areas of research. There is also a zoom interview in some cases. These videos may help you

I've have submitted my thesis and will start applying for a post-doc position now but I don't want to establish my own lab at some research institute, also I'm looking for contractual teaching positions in India in the meantime. So, what should I really go for??? Because teaching positions doesn't require post doc but I sometimes feel I want that exposure of a post doc too. Please suggest
Postdoc is useful if you want to become an assistant professor at a research intensive university which grants PhD degrees. For a teaching job, a PhD is sufficient. Of course you can take a teaching job after a postdoc also but this time will not be useful as if you don't do research for a few years then it becomes hard to do research.. This video may help

Yes you can get but you may like to consider less competitive locations like China, Brazil, counties of the former USSR etc. China often has lot of funds

1st apply Postdoc fellowship or Postdoc admission
You have to apply for postdoc fellowships first. Later if you don’t get you can try to postdoc jobs advertised by individual professors and labs.

hello sir, i want to know that i am my midway of my phd; and my papers are in under review so it is good to search a postdoc or send my CV to any supervisor? or i have to wait till my paper is publshed.
It may be better to wait for a paper to be published as it will strengthen your case. Midway is too soon to apply for postdoc in most cases.

@@abhisheksingh-od4qo Then you could apply. If there are job postdocs which need your specific research expertise then you could get an offer. I have seen some cases where this has happened.

In USA age does not matter for postdoc. You can apply for positions for postdoctoral research through web sites for higher education. If you have some papers is helps the case. These videos may help you.

Sir, recent criteria highlights that one can apply for Fullbright Fellowship within the 4 years period after the declaration of the PhD. Is there any flexibility for Faculties.
They will follow whatever criteria is set by the foundation. You can email them for information if they show flexibility for some special cases

Dear Sir, If we complete Ph.D. and a short postdoc, and working as an Asst Prof. in Engg college, suggest some better way (how one should be in professional thoughts) to establish collaborations in reputed institutions either in India or outside, and to be successful in research( One side they don't need honorarium, other side they can't work complete day as of PhDs and Postdocs, but really work on problems). Thank you Sir..
One possibility is to work with someone from your PhD or postdoc institution. Otherwise you can approach some person by email and suggest a problem based on some research work they have done in the past which has been published.

Sir, although I applied for some postdoc positions in India itself and also applied for N-PDF but nothing worked. Here I must accept I don't have a good amount even a good quality of research papers. I worked in a project as as project Associate-II for 1 year just after submitting my thesis so that I could utilise the time,but there also no paper was published and they were not even interested in that. Now, I want to pursue teaching in a good institution where I can carry on some research. But, I am confused what is better among these options:
1) teaching in a good pirvate institution if I get selected ( I am in waiting list of a very prestigious private university for girls)
2) teaching as a guest faculty in govt college ( I am afraid that it will go nowhere, I don't want to waste the time waiting and hoping for a permanent position which also is uncertain. Even there is no financial growth even you work till 5 years as a guest faculty but people work in a hope that someday they will get preference in permanent recruitmnets, however many suggest me to do so as you can get a chance some day).
3) should I join as a RA in different lab at the same institution where I am working right now for one year or so since other scientists are good at giving credit to the student and then keep applying for good universities (be it govt or private) side by side.
If you are able to get a good teaching position you can take it. Teaching is an important task which also leads to immediate results. Note that a job in hand is more important than promises about future jobs etc which may or may not happen. Some people are able to do a small amount of good research even as teachers without the need and pressure to publish.

You need to check the API guidelines which the university uses. Experience is always valuable in my opinion
