sir the biggest problem of post doc in USA is low pay and no stability. no project renewal guarantee. so much frustration, high room rent. and very less university is paying between 3500 to 5000 dollar per month. although it is ok in such situation where you didn't get job in India. I don't understand why one student choose research as carrier and spent his or her valuable time of life in such miserable state.
I am a postdoc in NYC and today I was going through a c-myc video of yours that you posted 8years ago. I work in a lung cancer lab and for me c-myc is a very important protein. I wanted to go down to the basics and I really loved your enthusiasm and understanding of the subject you are teaching. I was curious to know what you are teaching nowadays and found these catchy titles. As a science enthusiast to another, may I humbly suggest you to go back to the beautiful lessons that you used to give earlier and not do such catchy titles? There is so much our students dont know yet, and who else can do it but such a nice teacher like you! For example, subjects we study/research in our PhD/postdoc, maybe titbits of that...say, what is histological transformation in cancer? There are so many hot current topics in cancer that you can speak about to update/educate the scientific community. Thanks anyways, and good luck!
Thank you for appreciating my efforts. Topics you wanted me to discus is only targeted to a small portion of audience and that too around the world. TH-cam killed the idea of spreading Knowledge to the whole world. Now, my videos are restricted mostly to be viewed in India only. So, I don't see point in explaining those resesrch based topics here. Although I continue to make videos on biological science topics. You can see those too
Through your channel I want to encourage candates to apply for Swiss Govt Excellence Fellowship for Switzerland for PhD Postdoc or short term research.
I'm from India... Now I'm looking for post doctoral fellowship in mathematics ... Are there any upcoming independent fellowships after January 2024?... I'm searching for many fellowships... But the deadline is over... Do you know any please tell me?
Sir, very nice video regarding pdf. I want to ask why students who pursue their post doc in abroad don't want to return in our own country and settle down in abroad?
Wow. My ex-girlfriend ended up marrying a brainiac who went to the best private schools in my state for high school. He is a PhD and does this for a living. I always wondered how much he was making because I know my ex-girlfriend showed signs that money was very important to her. If he has a lot of student loans then he is netting less than what I make working at the bank because I have no student loans but make close to what he is making with the potential to make more. Also I’m not sure about the outlook with universities with enrollments dropping as younger generations are reconsidering their priorities and not going to school. I always thought working at a university or school was the safe route to go since you are protected from the corporate world and the instability we corporate people have to endure.
I'm pursuing a PhD in Zoology (Diversity related ecological work having good papers) and I'm planning to do a Post doc. I'm interested in molecular biology and biochemistry. also have good ideas in it can I pursue my post doc in that field or else do I need to continue my post doc related to PhD topic only.... Please clear my doubts 🙏
I am in the USA. I would suggest few things: 1. Mostly here no one keeps you in their own house its a myth. The culture here is very different. 2. If you are coming here you have to work hard as a life science students. 3. In J2 visa (that is the visa status you will get) you cannot do part time job. So you cannot make extra money. Firstly 😅😅there is no time and secondly you wont have work permit. 4. Cost of living in different cities are different. 5. Here you earn salary so its taxable untile you draw salary from some foundation fellowship. 6. Lastly don't ask how to apply just start mailing professors online. It is very easy to get a chance based on your knowledge and presentation skills.
I am Shivam Pal from Lucknow, I have completed my MSc Chemistry this year with 66%, I am mediocre in studies. Since there is less job after Phd , but I want profession in which I can earn high salary i.e. approx 12 laks per annum in upcoming 5 years . I am thinking to do MBA by clearing CAT exams , but I am average in maths. I have no extracurricular activities & skills that is needed in MBA. I have done 3 months internship project in Computational Chemistry at CSIR-IITR, Lucknow So , please guide me what to do PhD or MBA ?
After PhD you can be a assistant professor with 60k salary . Which is a good amount. In phd you don't need Marks. Clear ugc Net jrf you will be selected for phd
Even though I'm not from India, I'm also a PhD student. And I find your videos very informative. Thanks for your hard work.
Thank you so much for appreciating my efforts

Because they don't find anything suitable to do in India. Plus many are drawn towards the so called "USA" brand
Assistant professor in India right now they are getting 80K per month it's better than the post doc fellowship
You are d#&b

50-60k is the average for an academic postdoc position in the US, but the range is different for postdocs in nonacademic positions
What's for non-academic positions?

So can our PhD and post doc work can be from different stream or do it need to be continuation of our PhD ?
Whether a government employee can do the post doc without losing the job have both salary and stipend
Post doctoral research required avid interest into research with dedication and hard work. It cannot be balanced with govt service. Choose either one.
Sir is there any chance to do PDF in Himanities subject like in Education subject?
Hi sonali I am also looking for PhD in education
Pls talk to me if you r interested

Take taxes into consideration also
Sir, very nice video regarding pdf.
I want to ask why students who pursue their post doc in abroad don't want to return in our own country and settle down in abroad?
Because they don't get the payband even close to that plus many in India believe staying abroad is a status symbol.
Sir kindly do a video on different phd or post doc fellowship scholarship available in usa or uk or europe for indians
Okay

So does that imply that earning 50-60k annually someone can afford a luxurious lifestyle in US ?
No. You need 2.5-3 Lakh you can survive without saving
