    Interesting content Dr. Thank you so much. I really need this type of information. I passed my PhD successfully last month. I’m trying to get my certification next month. Hopefully next year I will apply for a postdoctoral position.

    Thank you Dr Ganguli for sharing these information. My concern is related to the postdoc application.
    I have published a review paper in a well respected journal in my research field this year. The review article is generating a lot of citations. Furthermore, I have been invited by an editor from Springer Nature to review a paper related to my research topic. I have accepted the invitation and submitted my report. I will defend my thesis no later than January 2023. I was wondering if this is enough to apply for a postdoc position in Europe or US.

      @Drganguli  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Review papers are good but you can strengthen your case with a research paper based on your PhD work published in a journal or even a good conference.

      @@Drganguli Many thanks. I have already submitted a research paper, which is under review. I am waiting for the second round of the revisions.

    But i have completed Ph.D in 2013. Ten years over. Is there is any possibility to get postdoc admission?

      Thank you very much for watching. Generally, most western countries don't have age limits on postdocs. There is also the DST WISE postdoc fellowship in India for woman with PhD's who want to get back into research after some time.

    I recently appeared in a postdoc interview. After the introduction,. She directly asked, How much time do you need to publish your first paper? She has the expectation of three papers every year. How many hours did you work every week during the PhD? Professor, Would you please tell me how to respond in this specific situation?

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This must be in chemistry or material science type of fields. There is paper inflation going on nowadays and faculty expect a lot of work from PhD students and especially postdocs. It is not about the hours you work but how prepared you are in terms of research knowledge and writing skills which help you to write papers. If you are not comfortable with this number requirement then you can try elsewhere. Check out her lab papers to see the actual details

    Dear sir
    Thank you for your guidance who are going to looking for PDF candidates through this video.
    I would like to ask couple of questions
    1. What kind of questions will as for Research Associate interview,
    2.will they ask Project title releted questions?
    Kindly give me reply sir

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Research associate questions will be similar to postdoc interview questions. They can ask about the PhD title and problem or questions on any papers you may have published

    what about a second phd? if I am interested in a topic of the second phd and my long-term career goals are academic.

    • @Drganguli
      @Drganguli  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some people have done a second PhD particularly if they have moved to another country or they wanted to study a different problem in depth or they wanted to get into a different area such as management. I will make a video on that in future.
