This is a good video. I consider myself to be an advanced guitar player but not good at funk rhythms, as you play here. It would have been great if yo supplied a tab that shows the exact up and down strokes of your right hand and the mutes relative to the chord changes. When I go up to speed, I sound different than the funk groove you got going here. While I can stay on the beat, my groove isn't there like you have. And my goal is to play the song just like you play it. Any suggestions?
great lesson. please jon a lesson on eric clapton catch me if you can or rita mae or don t let me be lonely tonight. thanks in advance. greetings from morocco.
You want to start be working out a rhythm pattern so you want to count out loud 16th notes thats the 1e+a 2e+a etc and play on certain beats. Then eventually you will play more from a feel.
@@jonmaclennan I find this type s of style hard at the moment it's same type as le freak can't remember for life of me name of it but still I will get it one day lol it's a bit like reggae I still can't do that I keep messing it up I think my muted notes needs lots of work I mentioned your TH-cam channel on Facebook guitar learning site today so your viewers may go up a lot of other guitar teachers plug on there of here so I plugged yours to help get you more viewers told them your good teacher come this way take a look
