I recently received a new Fender Mustang Micro plug-in headphone amp as a gift, something I specifically requested for Christmas based on positive reviews. An absolutely fine little product to take the place of my decades-old Tom Scholz Rockman X100 box. If you're a righty DON'T miss out on this great little practice tool. One major design flaw I'm encountering though regards which side the control buttons and LEDs are located along. I'm a lefty, my Fenders and other make guitars and basses are all lefty and hence the "AMP, EQ, EFFECTS and MODIFY" buttons and LEDs on the Mustang Micro face away from rather than toward me as they wind up located along the bottom side of the unit when plugged in. Try the unit plugged into a lefty Fender Stratocaster or lefty Jazz bass for example, you'll see what I mean. Would be no big deal but I rely on the color coding of the unit's LEDs to inform me what settings are selected. I'm wondering if Fender is planning a "lefty" or ambidextrous version of the Mustang Micro anytime soon or might there be other helpful ideas to share? I'm trying to avoid "klugey" or messy mods as the simplicity, compactness and cleanliness of the product are significant attractions to me.
Great idea, hey. I know how some Amp have an internal battery and taking them places and playing isn't all that difficult. But it's probably a good idea playing using Headphones and the size and portability this Micro Amp offers is just outstanding. I'm really a beginner and this will do just fine. I just ordered one.
