Some months ago I bought what was supposed to be a second hand fender player telecaster. When I tried it at home, I noticed the pick ups sounded too dark... I checked the pick ups under the hood and they were sire t7 pick ups. I returned the guitar to the seller. It didn't sound bad. But it was not what I thought I was buying and it didn't sound like a hmmm fender!
I bought a Sire P8 to be the 1 bass in my guitar collection. The neck was so smooth to play on that it convinced me that I also needed a strat with a similar style of neck. Ended up with a Fender Vintera ii 😆
I've had a HSS S7 for about 6 months now, coming back to guitar after almost 30 years, My last guitar was a late 80's Charvel super strat type with a pretty slim neck, and I was into the hair metal thing so it was perfect for that. Now I'm more into classic rock, and just an intermediate player. Really like the S7, but I must admit, some days I miss the slimmer neck profile, so the S10 is tempting. But I think maybe the next one is Les Paul type for some dirty tone and serious string bending.
Marcus Miller once had a pretty cool (looking) MIJ Fender Jazz in a natural finish and a Sadowsky-inspired pre-amp. It wasn't actually very good. I picked up one as a pawn shop rescue and the pre-amp died and the neck wasn't playable after the 12th fret. Marcus Miller wanted a signature instrument which was affordable, and I can see why he got fed up with Fender. He's been with Sire a long time now.
I owned Sire S3 for a month now, and i'm satisfied with it. I meanly play it during weekends while drinking some cold beer , to ease away the long tiring week of work. Sounds good to me and it's bridge pick up is so good on highgain.
I always prefer a 12" radius because my first guitar was an Epiphone Les Paul. The feel of the neck on my Strat is great with the satin finish, but I definitely realized after a while that I prefer a more modern compound radius.
I knew it was Marcus Miller as soon as you said "hat". Marcus Miller is a MONSTER! The last time I saw him he was touring with Stanley Clarke and Victor Wooten. Three historically great bass players on the stage at the same time was a great concert
a week ago i rec'd from Sweetwater: Sire Larry Carlton J3 (jaguar style) Electric Guitar - 3-tone Sunburst, well made & plays smooth, much brighter than my other S styles & PRS. had to adjust some perameters & make patches eq'd for this guitar.
I first heard of Marcus Miller in a guitar magazine ad for DR strings. It advertised various signature string sets they offered, and at the time, Marcus Miller had a signature set with DR. I believe that ad was also where I first heard of Bootsy Collins.
Highly doubt you will see this but i wanted to give you some album recommendations and those are: American Football - American Football Polvo - Exploded Drawing Duster - Stratosphere I recommend you these albums cause i think you might like the guitar on them. That is all. Peace! ✌️

I have a Sire S7 I have had now for about a little over a year and I love it. Incidentally it is the only Strat style guitar I own. Would definitely recommend it.
I have the Sire S7FM and it's a very good guitar. Not prefect but very good. Like you said Sire fits that Fender alterative niche. I won't buy another Fender or Gibson ever again. Also check out the Schecter Nick Johnston. Another Great guitar.
I have an S7 vintage that has been better than a MIM fender i used to have, and feels better than a few american strats I've played. No doubts that the S10 goes solid head to head with anerican strats. The rolled fretboards are awesome.
Sires really are excellent instruments. They have really only two problems, from my perspective: they tend to be heavy (basses especially!), and they're never in stock! I'd love to try all the different models of git & bass but they're just not there to play.....
"It's a little heavy for a Strat", "It's light".... Well, how much does it weigh? Even their site doesn't give a weight range. Light Strat = sub 8lbs. Light guitars always sound better imo. Gibson, Fender, don't matter. It does have something most fenders don't... A one piece body lmfao Love your playing, man. It's a mirror of your personality. Upbeat, expressive, and happy. I went into a large local guitar store 2 years ago intent on buying a semi hollow body gibson 335 style guitar with a $500 budget. I played at least thirty guitars and left with a $275 Ibanez that played at least as well as a real 335. The Sire is great and maybe better in some ways (rolled fret ends) but it’s not a strat. As much as I like the guitar I find myself picking up and playing the strat more. Is that weird?
