If you think you can operate one of these without safety glasses then you should write "safety is for blind pussies". These lasers are NOT toys and should be treated as such. A 20 millisecond shot in the eye WILL blind you. But in these cases the non-safety minded individuals would most likely blind someone else and not themselves. How would you feel knowing that your carelessness robbed someone else of their sight. I am guessing (based on your post) that you don't give a shit about anyone but yourself.
Thief: hey you wanna fight what you got, I have a weapon Pyro: Well, I've got these fancy lasers! Thief: laughs until ................. they start fighting

Just a headsup.. Nice laser though :)
AppyDroid Development what is the highest mw of lasers that you don’t need goggles for? I am trying to buy one that is powerful and I don’t want to wear goggles.
AppyDroid Development probably because your face is a lot closer when you're drawing/etching. Think about it. When you write your heads like a foot away from the paper this dudes at least 2-3 foot or more when he's standing near the laser
ya what wasef said... id like to bring a good laser to a desert rave with me but dont wanna hurt ppls eyes or my eyes but want the laser to be super strong
It is definitely true that you need to be careful with high powered lasers, but it is not true that it emits any UV light. Laser diodes by definition only emit one single wavelength of light, in this case around 460nm. Some lasers use an infrared laser source and convert the light to green, so they end up leaking some infrared light, but this is not one of those.
@@averagerussell9547 yeah, you're right, just buy 2 1-watt green lasers can put them directly into your eye! Try it! and then we'll see what your response is
+LionofDawn So is the shield what cuts people's arms off then? If so, what's the point of the plasma? If the shield's strong enough to contain glowing plasma, then shouldn't the shield prevent the plasma from affecting whoever touches the blade? Or does the plasma heat the shield up so much so that it can cut off a person's hand? And if the shield is affected by the plasma like that, then doesn't that mean it'll get weaker over time? Does the shield have to be replaced? What kind of shield can contain glowing plasma and can just magically appear out of the lightsaber's hilt like that at the same time as the plasma? That doesn't seem very safe. Jesus, lightsabers are dangerous!
Question: At 0:52 he's showing us that it can burn through things... wouldn't leaving it on like that burn a hole through the wall or whatever the laser is touching?
at 0:59 i noticed that you are not wearing safety glasses man. 4.5 watt is more than enough to cause eye damage if any of that light reflects back at you. especially when you were burning that paper. i own a 3000mw laser and its already painful to look at the dot on the wall without safety goggles. stay safe with that thing.
just get a laser like this one and make it 1000x brighter and u might cause a noticeable dent on the moon that only people with a high quality telescope might be able to see make it 10000x brighter and people on earth will see somewhat noticeable lighting changes on the moon upon u turning it on and a dim laser pointing at it and make it 100000x brighter and itl probably blind everyone looking at the moon and will be a very noticeable laser that if pointed at a house would practically disintegrate it and burn the surroundings
Doesn't matter, you shouldn't shine a laser like this somewhere that you can't see whats on the other end. In fact you would get arrested and even get prison time in some places if you got caught doing this. Especially around airports or under flight paths. The people/cops in the town will be able to see where it's coming from. The UK are especially hard on people doing this now after people were shining them at helicopters.

when you have it on the sofa where is the beam pointing at,,the wall or do you have some kind of absorber? id imagine you need to be careful where it points indoors to avoid fires or damage
@Mr. Blueberry if youre using it indoors youre going to want to buy a special pair of glasses, more preferably goggles for full eye coverage, that are designed to block the wavelength of the laser you own. Otherwise you can seriously damage your eyesight while using it indoors even without getting it shined into your eyes directly or off of a reflective surface. Just looking at the dot on a wall from a laser 1Watt or higher and you'll start to notice more floaters develop in your eye sight from prolonged use, which is a sign of the retina of your eye being burned holes into. These types of glasses will cost over 50$ so the things you see on ebay or the ones that come with the cheap yet overly powerful 50$ ebay lasers arent going to help you one bit. If the laser you own can be pointed at the glasses and shines clearly through, they arent protecting your eye at all. Proper glasses will stop the beam100% and begin to burn the glasses themselves because the light cant get through and is so powerful.
@@Benloveschas Some lasers also emit strong IR rays which don’t act in the same way as the visible color. So you have to make sure it doesnt emit IR and if it does your laser goggles better stop those too
