    Bought a 2020 Palisade Limited AWD instead for 2 reasons. Interior and MSRP. My wife wanted the Kia Telluride, but I refused to pay what I call a 'popularity per diem!' Hats off to Kia finally having a solid contender in the segment, but you have to be out of your minds to pay 57k - 65k for a vehicle that maxed out between 47k - 48k when it released. This market adjustment mess is a bunch of crap! Ripping hard working people off is what they're doing. Such a greedy place we live in.

      K., I test drove a Telluride, FWD version when I was Trading my 2019 Acura MDX Advance. I was not impressed , it slipped on a slightly wet surface (August 2021), when stepping on the gas, too mush glare form the aluminum dash. For $50K vs, $62K (MDX), yes OK. But No way at $65K with the Premium to get one. I ended up with a new 2022 MDX Advance (with my Lease Equity of $3600 and a $1K Loyalty form Acura which was to entice the purchase (well actually Lese). Best for reliability? Most likely not! Perhaps they’re holding their own in terms of short term reliability, but for long term durability, we won’t know for another 5-10 years. Hard to imagine their engine and transmission will outlast Toyotas and Hondas!

      @@bn9068 I think a lot of people still are ok with the exterior design of the Telluride vs the Palisade but I respect everyone's preference on design. What's really a bummer is little things like, the full digital cluster not being available on the Telluride in any trim at all whereas the Palisade offers the full digital cluster. Like little features like that that KIA lacks but Hyundai doesn't. Pretty sure when both the Palisade and the Telluride get redesigned I am sure the Telluride will get a panoramic digital cluster + infotainment system combined together like the redesigned Sportage. But I honestly think KIA and Hyundai should've just made the Telluride and the Palisade into the Large SUV segment and not the mid size SUV segment. Already have the Sorento from KIA and Santa Fe from Hyundai in that segment. So that's some missed opportunities there in my personal opinion.

    • @bn9068
      @bn9068 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@shannonha2331 I totally agree with everything you just said. The Santa Fe and Sorento are quite big enough, if not, then just increase the length some more to Accommodate the 3rd row, and as you said, make the Telluride and Palisade into the large suv section, that would create much more opportunities for more things.

    looks fantastic. has all the ups and extras. I'd love to buy it. But Kia's history is poor. Poor engines. Poor transmissions. Poor acknowledgement by the company when things really go wrong...and a refusal to do anything about it. He says they're flying off lots "and that's all you need to know". And "they haven't changed anything since it was introduced in 2020". Most vehicles don't see changes for 4 or 5 years. Also, they haven't existed long enough to be proven reliable. 2 years on the road? That's when stuff starts happening. Think about how many Toyotas are out there with 100K, 150K, 200+K? A LOT! How many Kias with 100K out there? Exactly. As for "flying off the dealer lots", I'll just quote George Carlin: “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” This isn't a car review. This is a car bl**j*b.

    Definitely see why this is selling so well. It's a good looker and a great value. If one can get over the stigma of driving a minivan, the Toyota Sienna AWD hybrid is an amazing package! 36 mpg, much more overall room than any SUV since the seats can stow away under the floor, more kid friendly since the power sliding doors can be operated remotely revealing a much larger door opening. It's priced very comparably to the Telluride. I'm personally not a Toyota guy but the Sienna is a great package!

    Toyota and Honda have proven reliability...blah blah blah...Yes, they have proven their reliability. Now, they don't need to be reliable anymore, because people already think that they are. Now, they are cheaping out, coasting, and resting on their previously established reputation. They are like Apollo Creed in Rocky 1, and KIA is like Rocky. Kia is hungry and has something to prove...so that's who I'm betting on. “Give a man a reputation as an early riser and he can sleep 'til noon.”

    I bought a Palisade Limited last year and have absolutely no regrets. Super comfortable ride with tons of options. I stopped by the dealership for a 100% covered oil change and talked with my salesman while I waited. He said every vehicle that comes off the delivery trucks is spoken for when it arrives. That cannot keep any Hyundai on the lot. (All I saw on the lot were used Jeeps, Dodges, Fords, and Chevys that people evidently traded in.) I don’t think you showed anything on the Kia that the Hyundai doesn’t have, and the Hyundai interior is way nicer. For example, no floating infotainment screen that looks like it was stuck on the dash as an afterthought.

    What you're NOT telling people is how bad the rear suspension booms and reverberates throughout the cabin over every bump and expansion joint you hit! You're also not telling people how loud the road noise in the cabin is compared to others in the segment. Just test drive the new Pathfinder, Grand Cherokee, Pilot, MDX and then this Kia thing. the difference is more than obvious. Compare how loud you have to speak for your passengers to hear you. The Koreans are at least 10 years behind the US and Japan in suspension sophistication and sound deadening.

    I own a 2021 Telluride SX nightfall edition that I bought new in December of 2020. We have taken it on a family road trip, and have put 21,000 worry free miles on the vehicle. While many people look at Toyota for longevity, due to its history, let’s look at the hybrid system and how many of those systems have actually faired in the past decade. If you are going to only look at the past (1980’s-2010) then yes, the Toyota and Honda history have been reliable (even if that wasn’t the case in the 1970’s). What some of you may not be noticing is that even with recalls, Kia and parent company Hyundai have been making better more reliable cars than either Honda and Toyota over the past decade. With vehicles like the 4-Runner and Land Cruiser still sitting at the top of the longevity because they don’t want to mess with a good thing. Even though the Land Cruiser is now dead, I can’t imagine they wouldn’t bring it back. Granted for a mainstream, non-luxury (still classified as a luxury SUV by some) three row, off-road SUV you would only be paying upwards of $80,000 for a new one two years ago (if you were getting a base model).
    In my opinion, the Hyundai and Kia brands got their start like Toyota and Honda did by making small economy cars that weren’t meant to last long, but got people into cars (such as teenagers and young adults). They weren’t great 30 years ago, and it wasn’t until probably 2005 or 2006 when they really put a lot of work into reliability and quality.
    According to enthusiasts, the Telluride is the quietest on the road and on the highway of any mainstream SUV. It isn’t quite as sporty as the CX-9. It has less room and is smaller than the GM trio. It can’t go as far off-road as the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. It doesn’t get the fuel economy of the Highlander or Pilot. However, it ranks second in a lot of those categories versus the competition; making it the best all-a-rounder.
    For those people who have written off both Kia and Hyundai because of the reliability issues of the past, please look at the history of your vehicles. It isn’t pretty for anyone. I recommend my Telluride to everyone! Thank Everyman Driver. Sorry to vent on your page.
