After doing my research i got a fully loaded nightfall telluride and it’s the best bang for your buck. And i have had it for 3 months now and we love it.

I wanted the telluride nightfall as well but they don't offer it in a hybrid so I got the Sorrento hybrid and it has captains chairs. Nothing beats getting 31.6 mpg city in our roomy SUVs.

Did you have to pay more than the MSP? In our area, SoCal, they are getting $4 thousand over MSP.

@@brud1729 if you are asking me.....I paid 2500 over MSRP. I was ok with that because we have been waiting for 6 months and I've called coast to coast and just couldn't get my hands on one. It was worth it and they still had the 2.5% finance deal

I’ve never really understood brand loyalty between an individual person and a public corporation. I just buy whatever suits me best at the time. Kia is working hard to win customers while brands with bands of loyalists are resting on their laurels. Happy to have given my business to Kia this time around.

    • @HoodSlappersOfficial

Thanks for the comment. Kia is working to win over many people. Their current market share shows this. As for loyalty, some people just like how some brands build their cars. Thanks for watching Brook.

You make a great point Toyota makes a great product but KIA made them take notice the past few years . Toyotas hybrid engine is a masterpiece of engineering with a 8/150 warranty yes that better then KIA at 100/100. So we are enjoying a battle where we the consumers win

I was a Honda owner for 25 years. In 2022, I bought a Ford Maverick (non-hybrid) and it's been a great little truck so far. 30K miles in, no problems - just recalls. I am, however, considering the Telluride as a future purchase because I'd like some comfort and size. Need something with a higher towing capacity, but not over the top like a full-sized truck.

The wife and I pulled the trigger on a Telluride (tell-yer-ride from a native Coloradoan) back in January. I'm not an SUV guy, been driving trucks most of my life, in fact this is replacing our 2008 Avalanche. But I will say this is a great vehicle. We've already done one longish trip and its just great eating up the miles. The creature comforts are quickly becoming must haves for us if we ever replace it. The blind-spot has come in very handy, and being able to drop the second row from the back is a well thought out convenience. Thanks for the review, guys. It was a fun watch.

I purchased a KIA Telluride in Oct 2020 and loved it for so many reasons. In June of 2022 I was hit from behind while setting at red light when a gravel truck slammed into me from behind going 70 mph. God and the safety features saved my life. I just bought me the new 2022 Telluride to replace my other one.

Keep up the good work. I'm also considering the KIA Carnival. Currently I have a 16 Subaru Outback. Considering what my next vehicle will be in the upcoming 2 to 5 years. I test drove a KIA Sedona van and liked it,...seems very intuitive with the controls ..but don't really consider myself a van guy. . Before outback I had a 2001 Honda Odyssey with 230,000 miles.

Hondas are superior and have been for years you won’t see an argument from me there. I’m glad you have no issues with yours and I hope it continues that way. I’m not here to bash you or wish bad upon you or your vehicles just because I have a different opinion. That shouldn’t be hard to understand. What do we win by deciding who’s car make is better? Just purchased one of these. Traded a 2019 Chevy Traverse LT which I really loved. Driving the Traverse was wonderful. It goes where its pointed, plenty of feedback from the tires to the steering wheel. The 3.6 V6 was FAST! After owning it for about 3 months, I discovered the Traverse group on Facebook. Uh oh....lots of problems with timing chains.... A few weeks ago we noticed a sort of ticking noise, particularly during moderate acceleration. Talked to friend who owns auto repair facility and as soon as I said "Traverse", he said "get rid of it NOW!" Sell it, trade it, whatever, but get rid of it! So, new Telluride. As much as I like this car, it honestly doesn't "do it" for me the way the Traverse did, but the Telluride warranty, the great reviews from Consumer's Union, etc. convinced me that it is the right choice.

We have a 2014 Equinox with the 3.6L at 148k mi. No major issues yet. Starting to rust in some spots.
The key on these newer engines is good top tier oil and ignore the OLM. Following the OLM are for people that replace their cars every 3 years. Change it at 5000 or 7500 mi max. The traverse has more weight and drag than the Nox. So it has to work harder. It depends on what kind of driving we have been doing also. When we tow our 3100 pound camper during the summer, I change the oil much sooner. I also get my oil analyzed after break in to see when the oil degrades to see if I can go to 7500. Some engines are harder on oil than others.

    1. There has been evidence that supports claims that they catch fire for the wiring harness connected to the tow hitch. Unless you want the possibility of your Kia telluride to go up in flames .
    2. A lot of Kia telluride owners complain about the headlights not bringing bright enough especially the factory LEDs. That's why my 2016 Nissan Sentra had the halogens replaced with aftermarket LED. Disclaimer.. make sure you check before doing this so it's not void your warranty.
    3. Yeah it has one of the best warranties out there. However pay attention to the word limited. What that means is that just because it's a bumper to bumper or powertrain warranty doesn't mean it covers everything only limited items. Unlike my Nissan brand which is unlimited.
    4. Lack of Anti-Theft technology. You can have the fanciest, flashiest, and high technology car you want. However it means nothing if it gets stolen. My 2016 Nissan Sentra came standard with intelligent key, immobilization system, locking steering wheel, and push button start. With the Kia telluride you only get push button on the higher trims.
    5. Kia is the child of Hyundai. Kia and Hyundai engines are known to have transmission problems within the first 50,000 miles.

I've been driving Kia and Hyundai since 1997...they have never been anything than what I paid for and expected....if you thought you were paying 30% less than a Honda and getting Honda quality...that's on you. Now here in 2022 I have the newest Tucson...well ...it cost almost as much as a Honda...and I think it looks better, drives better and has more value than a Honda....I will let you know in 10 years if it lasts as long...pretty confident as the last three Hyundai/Kia cars both went 10 years and 150k with no defects.

I’m curious how the ride quality is on this Telluride after 3 years, will the door panels rattle like spray cans? Will control knobs fall off? What electronic features will stop working interior wise? These are my concerns on this underdog vehicle.
Looking forward to a true quality control follow up.

I have the 2020 SX PRESTIGE and love it but people need to know this before they buy one...
I hope you take the time to read this about a huge SAFETY ISSUE that KIA has ignored all owners who have emailed them .
    NO RECOVERY POINTS OR HOOKS
The Middle East and Canada have them just not here in the US ..
This not an off-road feature. This is a safety when towing in an emergency option that prevents further vehicle damage to get you out of a bad situation and is available on most modern passenger cars with large amounts of plastic on the front fascia.
Consider that someone who bought their Telluride to be a "mall crawler" happens to be driving in a rural area on vacation and gets caught in a snow drift on a highway then gets pushed into a snow bank to avoid a collision causing their wheels to be embedded in snow. Perhaps an area that is prone to road flooding in a heavy rain storm and finds themselves sliding and stuck in mud. Maybe they are just driving in wet conditions on a road without a sewer system and instead has culverts and ditches then someone driving in the other direction swerves from texting and to avoid an accident the Telluride driver veers and gets stuck in some mud. They can't get ahold of a tow truck and a friendly passerby in a pickup stops with a tow rope or winch to help. That friendly person can't find a tow hook and there are no recovery points with eyelets to attach to so they connect to the front suspension or some other metal structure that is not connected with the frame and unknowingly causes damage. The Telluride owner goes driving along their way only to have a catastrophic accident because the vehicle becomes unstable and unbalanced at a higher speed. I'm not going to blame that consumer for not crawling under the Telluride before they took delivery to look for a common metal loop found on most other vehicles and suggest they should have bought a truck 4X4.
The 2022 Toyota Highlander , the Honda Ridgeline and Passport do too.
This Road & Track author wrote very highly of his loaner Telluride but spent a good amount of time warning about the lack of a tow hook or recovery point. The 2020 Kia Telluride Is a Nearly Flawless Three-Row SUV
"When I got the Telluride buried up to its rockers in mud, I had to crawl on my belly and dig out a path for the tow strap to loop around the lower control arm once help arrived. I was covered in wet silt for the next hour as the sun went down. I’m still digging the dried clay out of the pockets of my jacket nearly two months later. Really. A single removable panel on the Telluride's front or rear bumper, and a threaded hole to attach a tow eyelet, would have done the trick.
When I called KIA I was told to just call a " KIA RECOMMENDED TOW COMPANY "
Now all this being say It is a GREAT Vehicle and I truly enjoy driving it but people really need to know about this before they buy one .
That's great if you are able too but not always the case .
Maybe you could comment or do a review about this to help get the attention of KIA Motors

@@HoodSlappersOfficial That goes for everybody that I know of that is on the Telluride Forum.
I've been trying to contact all media outlets because we are getting nowhere it seems they just push us under the rug . There was a member who broke down had a tow truck driver come out and hooked it up to the control arm because you could not locate where and actually damaged the front bumper as well. And parts are hard to get so it was back ordered for some time

They have this option like I said before in the Middle East and in Canada and even the Hyundai Palisade thought to include it as well.

Cost is misleading and no one mentions this. $46k might be the cost 2 years back, as most dealers compare Telluride to Land Rover and markup cost between $6k-$10k with the highest trim close to $65k+ competing with X5/Q5/MDX/Aviator. Waiting period is an insane 8 months and no test drive vehicles. This is crazy for a Kia.

I've had hondas all my life, and the lanewatch camera is one of the most useful and innovative things honda did. Only when you use it on a daily basis that you'd appreciate it. The other reviewers who only get the car/suv for testing for a short periods of time and saying that the camera is not useful or in their way don't know how to use it properly. They might have impacted honda's decision to phase out the camera, which I think is really bad for us consumers. I hope honda would bring the camera feature back in the near future.

I probably won’t ever be able to afford a Kia Telluride, but one thing I know for sure, is that after driving our 2018 Kia Sorento for almost 4 years I will never purchase anything BUT a Kia. As a former Michigander I come from a General Motors ONLY Family. My Dad was a GM employee for 35 years so we never drove anything but Oldsmobiles built in Lansing, Michigan. Starting in the mid-2000s GM started pricing me out of the market. So long story short, Kia has proven itself as the premier car maker even above Honda, Toyota, and Nissan.

Great comment. Thank you for posting. Our Kia sources inform us that both Kia and Hyundai are both having a great deal of engines recalled. The good news is the main culprits are their 4 cylinder engines and not so much their V6 line up. They are posting extended warranties on them for the most part. If you are in the market for a preowned Kia, we strongly suggest asking about recalled engine work and if there is an extended warranty on the vehicle you are looking at.

I've had it for 4.5 years, and have logged 89k+ miles on it with no issues. This is the first KIA I have owned (I also own a Toyota Camry and previously an older Nissan Altima). Great video! Here’s my confusion: how did this specific vehicle have BOTH the 2nd row bench seat AND double moonroof?? This is what I want! I’ve been scouring the interwebs and talking to dealers-they say you only get bench seats below the SX trim, and only get double moonroofs on the SX trim. What gives? Is this a Canadian exception?

    • @HoodSlappersOfficial

There isn’t much in terms of loud colours. Kia wants to keep their colours pretty straight forward on their 3rd row. Fun colours are for more “fun” vehicles. :)

I test drove a Telluride and Palisade. I prefer the Palisade. They are very similar, but I find the interior and exterior styling of the Palisade to be more attractive. The one touch folding third row is another significant difference. The cabin experience felt much more premium. I can’t speak to the lower level trim comparisons. This was for a Limited (Palisade) and SX (Telluride) trim levels.

I looked at the palisade and even with $9,000 down they were saying monthly payments of $500 for 84 months. I know a lot of people cannot make those payments for 84 month and besides that length of period for any automobile tells me you cannot afford it. These are automobiles they're not homes

    • @HoodSlappersOfficial
      @HoodSlappersOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

That’s a great point. It seems houses have always been a growing asset regardless of their varying degrees of increased value. Automobiles have NEVER been a proper investment. It’s unusual to see their values play out like they have as if to mimic the housing market. Hopefully you were able to work something out and purchase a vehicle that checks all the boxes. New logo is 1000x better. I have a telluride on order at MSRP. I can afford luxury brand SUVs but I prefer value to status, and I can’t justify throwing too much money into a car. I have wanted one of these since I saw their debut on a super bowl commercial. Now try finding one, seriously if you actually find a Telluride, in March 2022 that isn't $10-20k over MSRP...thank you to the Massachusetts scummy car dealers looking for a money grab. A used one in MA with 30-50k miles is the SAME price a new one, I have shopped around endlessly since the beginning of the year. Used car prices are up 35% in MA, can't speak for other states but it's insane.

    • @HoodSlappersOfficial
      @HoodSlappersOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Thanks for sharing. We are hearing a lot of this. Where we are, it is illegal to sell a car for more than MSRP. We see that is not the case for our neighbours to the south. Plus, because of the shortage, the used car market is on the rise. It’s definitely a sellers market right now. One day it will resolve, but when, who knows. Thanks for checking our channel out.
