Harrel just shot 100 rds .40 from a 10 mm G 20. No misfires or issues.
I trust that guy for sure
i shoot 40cal out of my glock20 10mm everyday without changing the barrel
That's what Im saying... This is just their way of MAKING you spend more money... Smdh 😒😒😒
Overtime won’t you damage the barrel ?
No it won’t damage barrel it’s like shooting .38 special out of a 357 magnum
The barrel in the conversation is just gonna have a longer feed ramp and maybe a little tighter as well but yeah G20 stock will work
A 40 actually gets more chamber support in a ten...
The 10mm was NOT developed for the FBI. It was a developed at the urging of Jeff Cooper by Norma as the ultimate “replacement “ for the 45ACP. Dornas and Dixon made the first pistol for it, the Bren 10, which was a beefed up CZ75. This all happened well before the Miami shootout which is the incident that drove the FBI to look for a more powerful round for agents to carry. The 40S&W on the other hand…
Also , before there was the 40 sw , there was a downloaded 10 millimeter called the fbi load.
The moose video, WAS a .40 brother. lol . OP was CRaptor here on youtube in which he stated it was a factory stock g23, with golddot's, that indeed was a G23. .40 is awesome.
Most current factory production 10mm is loaded to the same velocity most factory 40cal is loaded to.
I keep seeing people say that but the majority of 10mm ammo I see is loaded to 9mm velocity which is about 100fps more than most typical 40 s&w ammo
Appreciate the tutorial
I own both 10mm and 40S&W Love them both. They can stop what’s bothering you.
I've watched so many of your videos where you specify that there is no ammo in the room while you are making a video. But, of course, this one is about the ammo, so it makes sense. And everyone knows how safety conscious you are.
I could listen and watch Lenny talk about Glocks all day long. Luv u Lenny. Ur a good dude.
Lenny is the ultimate salesman. Circus, Country Fair, he could sell you air.
You can already shoot 40 out of a 10mm Glock without issues but if your going to do it on the regular having a barrel designed for it makes sense .
What do you mean by “designed for it“? A 10 mm can obviously handle the pressure in the chamber. There’s not enough of a difference in the length between the 40 Cal and the 10 mm to make a difference. The thickness of the projectile is the exact same. The twist rate of the barrel is the same even though that wouldn’t make a difference between the different rounds. This is just a way for him to sell product. But that’s OK. Yay for capitalism!
@@TheAxe4Ever Paul Harrels brother just proved your case.
@@TheAxe4Everwrong
Not for 10mm Glocks. They have a wider chamber and significant fluting, making them impossible to fail loading. The real issue is that a .40 in a Glock 10mm is held in place by the ejector and has significant gas blow-by. The ejector has an additional load that the manufacturer did not intend, an prolly won't stand by, if faced with a gaggle of lawyers.
@@johnpoole8321 He did not prove it. There is a reason (and no its more than just a legal reason) the 10mm Glocks don't say 10mm AND 40sw on the side.
Congratulations from Brazil
Thanks Lenny
Thanks for the 411!
We all know what is going to happen in the video but we must watch every second of Lenny no matter what
Definitely not.
Yea I saw that video of the person shooting at the moose
I can do something similar, I have a Para P14 in .45 yet I have a barrel that drops in that is chambered in .400 COR BON. Both have good stopping power.
Can you also shoot the .45 super?
I am curious when the Gen 5 conversion comes out if you will sell the G20 as 40S&W conversion package and roughly what that will cost. If reasonable i may just make the trip from Knoxville for that.
GREAT video! Agree with everything you said, but the section on barrel lubrication can not be overstressed. Failure to do this can and will result in a non-functional pistol until performed.
I have yet to see a recent loading for the 10mm caliber that exceeds what the 40 cal is capable of in a proper loading for its case capacity.
Most 10mm ammo sold is loaded to .40 S&W specs.
But not ALL, Especially NOT the Self Defense or Hunting Loads. And its more of a concern of the head spacing. Its not going to effect the shorter 40 cal. Its going to effect the longer 10mm. We (in the Gun Smithing World) have seen 10mm severely damaged and destroyed do to just this issue. We aren't talking about 9mm target rounds. We're talking about HIGH PRESSURE +P+Rounds going off unsupported or in worse case even out of battery. This isn't like accidentally running a 380 ACP round or a 9mm Makarov into a 9mm luger. As it was explained to me by Dennis at S&W in Ballistics, Its like putting a 5.56 round in 9mm and pulling the trigger. "Its all bad when it goes bad"
@@Pyle81 Are you serious Clark ?
LG. Can I use my 27 Guide Rod in my Glock 26 ?
but can you use the 10mm recoil assy / spring ???
It’s really much more effective to oil the slide and barrel when it’s apart
I love it. Everyone belittles 40 S&W and elevates the 10 mm to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Only to then get a 40S&W conversion for their 10 mm. Truly rich.
Nobody does this.
Anyone doing this is only doing it to save a few dollars at the range . Nobody is doing it to actually carry it .
I like the 40 cal round but would never carry it in my 10mm .
Target practice only
What you say is true, but there are also people blowing up 40 S&W pistols while trying to reach 10mm power.
Man, I don't know where the economy is with 10mm vs 40 cal? Miniscule difference. By the time you pay for another barrel and then you're practicing with a round that isn't the same as your main carry? What's the economy or efficiency with that? I don't get it? I don't like it but , for me anyway, I just suck it up and pay the price for 10mm. Then, I know I'm ready for whatever life throws at me. 10mm, even full powerhouse loads no big deal. After shooting/carrying 44 mag most of my life 10mm is like a breath of fresh air. Plus 3+ times the firepower. I'm glad 10mm is gaining popularity. Maybe prices for ammo will get better soon?
I’ve shot 40 out of a gen 5 Glock 29 10mm….why convert?
Good point. Though not recommended, it definitely works. The cartridge is not correctly positioned, as the chamber of the 10mm is too long. It‘s mainly held in place by the extractor. So, don’t do it, … but it works 😉
No reason.
I've watched that TH-cam video about him shooting that moose how many rounds before it went down and the weapon wasn't even loaded 😂
What about a 40 S&W 6” barrel?
You can shoot .40s&w out of a glock 10mm pistol without changing anything. I have done this many times without any failures!!! No need to get .40s&w barrel.
Would these barrels work for gen 5?
Where is the link?
Can you use a compete G17 slide with barrel on a G22 frame?? Asking for a friend.. lol
yes
I am skeptical about those mags, I shoot a Ruger Security-380, which is literally a rechambered Security-9, withe the 9mm mags, and there is a 2mm spacer in the magazine
Do you have them for gen 5
Will it work for Glock 29
Do they make a 40 cal for a G29?
The recoil from the 10mm or 40sw is no big deal. People and officers who said they could not shoot it well were because they could not shoot to begin with. Secondly, the reil is not painful in a pistol, snappy but not painful.
"NOTE" Actually right now 10mm ammo prices on some brands has come down a lot. And I have seen a lot of 10mm cheaper than than 40 S&W many times lately. Since 40 S&W has become the "Not for the Cool Kids caliber" and kicked aside. So 40 S&W is not being as massed produced as it was it now costs more.
You don't need a conversion barrel to shoot .40. Just use the factory 10mm barrel.
Already do without it. In my glock and 1911
40 shoots out of the 10mm barrel but i have found accuracy may not be as good without the conversion barrel.
@@jugulartara4388 a few 10s shoot it well and accurately. Glock is one of them.
I carried 23 for a couple years in law enforcement then switched to the 10mm version and carried 40 cal ammo in it but also had 10mm loaded in mags as well if needed.
@@jugulartara4388 nice to know about accuracy.
@@jugulartara4388 I haven't had any noticeable accuracy issues.
Can you use this 40cal conversion barrel in a Glock 21?
You can always go down in caliber from a higher caliber Glock, but NOT the other way around.
So a 45 cal Glock can run conversion barrels from 40, 357, 9mm etc.
So in essence buying the highest caliber Glock that you'll ever want to shoot has the MOST value because for not much more money you can convert them to whatever other caliber you'd like WITHOUT buying the extra firearms.
Go look at other after market Glock conversion barrel makers as well.
I bought a 40cal to 9mm conversion barrel from Aim Surplus for $50 & the same exact barrel but with blemishes for $30. I can't even see where the supposed blemishes are but they work fine.
So for well under $100 I bought a barrel & a 9mm magazine & have myself a 9mm Glock now & it's essentially an unregistered ghost gun.
Good and informative video. I was in there last week and it is a beautiful place and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
I have a question. Can a G19 Gen 5 slide work on a G19 Gen 4 lower?
🙏🏼
The upgrade Allows you ?🤔....
I have been doing so for Years... With No issues... With No upgrade... And just as accurate 👍😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
1. But to be clear... I Also have Never owned a Glock...
2. The so - called extractor issue has Never been an issue... Never, the extractor still works as it should with the .40 rounds 👍😎
K, can I still shoot the 10mm ammo with the conversion barrel or do I change it out every time I shoot 10mm ammo.
You would have to change it back for 10mm. The .40 S&W chamber in the conversion barrel isn't deep enough to allow the 10mm to fully seat in it. The primer end of the 10mm cartridge will stick out of the chamber and the slide will not be able to close all the way.
Just use the 10mm barrel
Too bad most 10mm on shelves is under loaded to .40 anyways.
Easy fix: hand load
EXACTLY...
Ok, how about the other direction?
I've noticed on these YT tests it appears the 10mm looks to be watered down except for certain ammo companies ...
It is, most companies load them to the same specifications as the .40sw I believe.
It is. Check out Tools and Targets on TH-cam. He is a big 10mm fan. Most companies are just charging extra for 40 in a 10mm case.
Okay my question is if I can shoot 40 out of my 10 mm with a barrel switch can I shoot 10 mm out of my 40 with a barrel switch ?
No, the 40 glocks are 9mm frames and not designed for real 10mm power. 10mm guns are built on 45 frames. Also 10mm won't fit in 40 mags.
Will it work in the new G29 gen5?
Yea I got the gen 5 29 and put 50 .40 rounds through it no issues
In 7:20 "If the 10 mm to .40 S&W barrel are basically the same diameter"
Why don't make a conversion kit from 10mm to 9mm or 357S&W?
The .40S&W to 9mm or 357S&W conversion kit already exist;
Someone knows if using a 40S&W to 9mm conversion kit barrel on a 10mm create a ejecting problem?
Is there anyway I can convert my Glock 17 to a G 31?
No. The slide is made for a 9mm dimension barrel. Mainly, the hole in the front of the slide. You need a 40S&W dimension slide and barrel. The 357Sig is based on a case of similar size to the 40, only necked down to 9mm. I guess you could get a different slide for your frame.
I have already converted my G22 Gen4, into 9mm.
I noticed that you did not talk about the ejector, the difference between the two, and why it is important to change the trigger frame accordingly.
Because going from 40 to 9 is not the same as shooting 40 out of a ten.
.40 to 9mm is the stupidest conversion ever.
I'm scratching my head a bit over how the industry feels there is consumer interest for a 10mm to .40 S&W conversion barrel, but there is no interest for a 10mm to .40 S&W conversion magazine. I'd feel a lot better knowing the ammo won't be getting jarred forward and out of sorts in the stack eventually leading to a feeding malfunction.
It doesn't
Why can't you shoot 40 through the 10mm barrel? First time ive heard of needing a conversion barrel.
jimchambers It's called Cash Cow, Bank Roll. This man has made a lot of money off Glocks and more so aftermarket parts. There's many people that shoot 40 out of the 10mm without changing the barrel. Bank Roll as he laughs all the way to the bank.
@@arlissyoung8899Wrong...... I love you guys think its all about a dollar. Because you clearly don't know 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩 about guns. Because if you did, You would understand how straight wall pistol cartridges HEAD SPACE off the mouth of the cartridge. And what happens when you get BUILD UP or DAMAGE to this area in the chamber. The 40 round isn't going to be the problem. However the 10mm WILL BE. Don't believe me??? Call the company that made the 40cal. Smith&Wesson. Ask for Dennis in Ballistics, He'll be happy to explain it to you. And show you chamber dimensions and pics of what happens when it goes bad.
Hey my friend, Very good question. And here's where you will find the answer. It's called "Head Spacing" straight wall pistol rounds like the 40 cal. and 10mm (And others) head space off the mouth of the case. You can call S&W who came out with the 40cal. And talk to Dennis there in Ballistics (or anyone elese) They will explain it to you in depth on why you DO NOT WANT TO DO THIS. If it was me and in a life or death situation, Thats one thing. But ONLY in that situation. Its not like shooting 38's in a 357 as others that are less informed think its fine to do. PLEASE DO THE RESEARCH AND IF YOU STILL AREN'T SURE. CALL THE PPL PROFESSIONAL THAT MADE THE ROUND, Smith & Wesson. They'll be more than happy to speak with you about this issue.
There's no reason for a different barrel.
Can you do one of these for 45acp to 10mm conversions
GlockStore hates this one simple trick...
The reason to fire a .40 out of a 10mm pistol, is to prevent overpenetration in an urban environment. That's the real reason why the FBI took a step back, not the girly story. The lawyers got in the act. As they will for anyone who uses a 10mm for defense in an apartment building, hits the perp and an innocent target.
And, I don't know about Lenny's conversion barrel, but one of his competitors does not have the fluting around the chamber, leading to load failures.
And, the 10mm doesn't have worse kick then a .40mm. In fact some10mm loads, have a milder kickback than .40 cal; it all depends on the weight of the bullet.
Classic Glock making you spend more than you need.
That's not a Glock barrel. It's an aftermarket. Glock will make you spend more money than you need by making you buy a whole other gun to change calibers.
@@rudyschwab7709that's what I do, but I also shoot .40 in my 10mm's.

Lenny...please put the plastic tip back on the needle of the Gun butter bottle...you're making me nervous with your arm movement near the bottle. Otherwise, outstanding video!
Lenny, Would you PLEASE do another video and have someone from Smith & Wesson on with you (The company that invented the 40 cal. SMITH & WESSON) And explain TO CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS in the comments in this video of WHY IT IS IMPORTANT NOT TO FIRE 40 CAL AMMUNITION THREW THE 10MM chambered barrel. And how the straight wall pistol rounds HEADSPACE off the mouth of the case. And what can happen when a "Out of Battery Detonation" happens due to a damaged 10mm barrel from shooting 40 cal AMMUNITION threw it. Thank You Sir.
You mean please get some lawyers to come on and run their mouths about how shooting it out of your gun is not supported and don’t blame us if anything happens.
Apparently you don't know how it works. You cannot get an out of battery detonation. If for some reason the .40 round gets in front of the extractor it will not go off. If the slide doesn't fully go into battery it will not fire. The only negative byproduct is a little extra effort to clean possibly a little less accurate. The pistol will not add cannot blow up. I've shot 1,000's of factory and reloads in my Glock 20 and 40 without issue. Please do actual research on the subject before you comment about shit you have zero clue about. I have had a case blowout in my old Gen 3 Glock 22 and Gen 4 17. The only thing that happens is the mag gets blown out of the bottom and a superficial powder burn on your hand from gasses blowing out of the mag release.
Can a 10mm barrel work in a G22?
Nope
Superfluous
. 40 cal is 9.1mm
2 Small dangers of shooting 40 out of a 10mm barrel - breaking your extractor because that's what's holding the brass instead of the throat and secondly- getting metal shavings out your barrel - the bullet shaves off tiny amounts of metal as it passes the throat rings meant for the 10mm brass. Some gun ranges don't like you shooting "shot" shells as there is a greater chance of bounce back, most don't care, but be aware you are shaving your bullets and shooting fragments. There may also be a chance of lead build up on that ring so when you go back to 10mm it may not seat well forward enough.
I wouldn't make common practice out of it, but it's good to know it can be done in a pinch.
The extractor isn't going to break. The millisecond from the striker hitting the primer and the round going off doesn't have enough forward force to do any damage.
@duckwacker8720 well, they do and have...opinions aren't reality.
You don’t need shit to do this. The Glock pistol headspace’s off the breach face and therefore will work safely. If you shoot weaker loads you may need a weaker spring.
California law is pretty iffy. Now would this violate any law in California? I mean due to the fact that when purchasing a firearm. The caliber of the purchased handgun is also registered or recorded.
Nobody gives two shits about Commifornia.
@@duckwacker8720 at this point anybody whith a gun is a crimminal and thus im allowed to have one in california, just keep it a secret and wear a mask like the rst of the crimminals.
So realistically……. Buy a Glock 21 which is a .45 ACP and then buy a Glock 20 conversion barrel. Then I can shoot 10 mm, .40 S&W and maybe SIG .357 all from the same barrel. That’s 4 calibers from 1 firearm. Now if you want to make a 5th one, buy the .22 Luger slide for the Glock 21 too and now you have 5 calibers.
🦾👀🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
My Glock 20 doesn't care, I've never had a malfunction... Shoots 40 Cal just fine, and with the bigger gun, the G 20... And you'll have far less recoil with the G 20
