    I work as a teaching assistant and a parent came up to me on an induction day for new students. She said to me that her daughter was going to be in a different house than her son. This is strange as siblings are in the same house normally. I asked why and the parent said 'Oh my daughter doesn't like my son.' And then after a pause said ...'and I don't blame her.' Completely explains the attention seeking behaviour of the son. It was horrible.

    As for the story at 12:12 where the parents threaten to send the kid back to Africa... I actually know a kid whose parents sent him to Africa, against his will.
    I’m Canadian, and believe me this was SHOCKING for everybody involved. I have no idea why the parents did this. This was in high school and the kid was a few grades younger than I. Basically they brought him to Africa under the guise of seeing family, and then forcibly enrolled him in a military school and LEFT HIM THERE. WITHOUT TELLING HIM ANYTHING. They TRICKED him.
    From what I know, he has very little contact with “the outside world” including his friends. His family did not stay in Africa with him. I feel absolutely terrible for this kid’s situation, even though I know very little about what occurred that lead to this conclusion.
    JUST WILD.

      My private school. Blue skirt with a white long sleeve blouse, knee socks, and Mary Jane dress shoes for the girls, and blue slacks, jackets, and white shirts with black dress shoes for boys. We all wore blue ties. I remember how stiff the blouse would be. We couldn’t remove the tag on the neck as it was against school rules. Resisting the urge to scratch was not easy. You actually get used to it after a while.

    A Korean gentleman came to his conference without a translator. Neither of us knew a word of the other's language. He stood for a moment, then bowed to me. I bowed back. It seemed the natural response. We then proceeded to bow to one another for the remaining eight minutes of the conference. When the buzzer sounded, he took a pen and scrawled what I assumed to be his signature on back of the report card, and walked out.
    An irate, non-custodial mother barged into another child's conference. She marched up to the mother and accused her of banging her ex-husband and plotting with him against her to have her daughter's visitation stopped. The mother was speechless. She'd obviously been mistaken for me, the teacher, not that I was doing any of those things! I informed her that I was her daughter's teacher, and that she'd just cursed out the mother of her daughter's classmate. Upon hearing this news, she replied, "Well, f... both of you!" and headed for the door. She stopped in the doorway, pulled down her pants, mooned us, and marched out. Thankfully, I never saw her again.

    Not a teacher, but a friend's story I was there to watch the ending. My friend had just became a sub for an English class, he went out to party that weekend and hooked up with an older lady, then the next day again at the bar hooked up with a 19 year old girl. Monday rolls around and it's Meet the teacher before school official starts. We walk in because my daughter was also a freshman that year and I see my friend stop and starts looking confused. In front of him was the lady he hooked up with Friday night and the girl from Saturday night. They where Mother and daughter and both of them saw him at the same time. He did a 180 and smoothly walked out into the hallway and ran to his parking car. Don't know what happened after that.. he's not talking.

    10:36 I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about this one. I'm not a parent, but a concerned uncle for my nieces. Oldest niece started getting harassed as puberty set in. I was a teen boy at one time so I know how bad boys can be, but I never laid hands on a girl without consent, nor was I so brazen to talk about the things I wanted to do with said girl in ear shot, (we all have our thoughts but you keep them in your head for a reason).
    One day I'm outside in the yard with my oldest niece talking about life and two neighbor boys started loudly talking about how they 'wanted some of that'. It took everything to not rip the handrail on the steps off and beat some shitty boys without manners.

      17:49 Greenville Middle School. I want to say more, but privacy and all. I knew way too many parents who just didn't give a fuck and the school uniform was constantly argued. I was 15 at them time and this was 2001. I've heard the school has gone so far down that the state is considering shutting it down.

    • @cocojlly1375
      @cocojlly1375 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Zartexal Yeah I have a story from my first year of middle school I believe. I had temporarily became popular among some of the well known boys in my grade. They were kinda popular I'd say, more than a shy smart girl like myself.
      Anyways this boy started touching me up and grabbing my ass in art class. I kept telling him to stop, but he wouldn't and kept saying he knew I liked it. I ended up getting fed up and told my male cousin that was in my grade. He stopped touching me then.
      I just hate how a girl/women won't be taken seriously at times, unless another guy is involved and deem it wrong and unfit to do or say something. Those types of people will only take something serious when another person of the same sex says something to them about it.

      I went to high school four years after my sister graduated. It would have been nice if she had revealed her reputation as a trouble maker before my first day.
      I’m pretty sure one teacher saw my last name, realized who I was related to, and promptly retired. We had a sub for the first month.
      My sisters excuse? Class got super boring! I needed to liven things up!
      I am also pretty sure the teachers held a party to celebrate after my sister graduated.
      I am also pretty sure it was our paternal grandfather, who was still teaching at the school at the time that prevented her from being expelled multiple times. He taught history and was still teaching when I started high school. I was in his history class. Whenever he was asked about retirement, he always responded with am I dead yet? He taught until the day he passed on. Teaching was his passion. We were quite surprised at how many of his students came to the funeral.

    It must be so awkward to have some of these meetings. If you wish to become certified as a teacher, you need to go through a very long process of how to treat families, how to tell them about behavioral issues, how to handle all types of families, etc. and then somebody just does the weirdest shit and your training kinda flies out the window.

    My mother is a CYW and has been working with kids both in schools and in the community. Many times, my mother would be sent to parent teacher conferences on the student's behalf either with the parents or sometimes on her own. I have always felt sorry for the teacher in these instances. My mother can be very aggressive when it comes to the well being of the kids and if the teacher is causing a problem, my mother would "sort it out". What sucked was that sometimes, I would then have that teacher a year or two after and they always knew who my mother was as soon as they saw my name.
    As an example of how my mother can be: in grade 9, I was in the high school band. On the day we were supposed to go on the band performance at the elementary schools in my area (3 different schools so it took up the entire second half of the day) we were doing the sugar crystal ornament experiment in science class. My teacher and a student were trying to melt the excess sugar off the sides of the can at the table next to me so the student could have it as a snack once it cooled down and hardened (stupid and I'm really shocked the teacher went along with it cause she is normally a great teacher). Well, an air bubble inevitably formed under the molten sugar and popped, spraying the room with the sweet lava. The teacher and the student were covered. As I was next to them, I got showered in it as well, but I lucked out and had been bent over my school bag so most of it landed on the back of my thick sweater. One small drop managed to get into my beard, though, and i got a 2nd degree burn on my chin. I didn't realize how bad it was and just continued on to my next class, stopping briefly in the washroom to get a wet paper towel to treat the burn. Half way through that class, I got called to the office to see the VP. As soon as I walked into his office and he saw the burn, his face visibly blanched. I later found out it was because he knew he'd have to tell my mother I got hurt in class. I was asked about what happened and how bad my burn was, but I was in a rush to leave because the band was supposed to be getting ready. The VP sent me on my way and I went to the performances. After the last performance, my mother showed up at the elementary school we were at and told the band director she was taking me home. The director just looked down and agreed. I later found out my mother had gone to my high school and reamed out the VP for letting me go on the trip and then followed us from school to school and missed us at each one until the last one. She stayed to watch the performance then took me home fuming.I had a good day. The VP and teacher, not so much. Both the student and the teacher were out for about a month, 2nd degree and 3rd degree burns on their faces and arms, but they both recovered perfectly.
    In hindsight, it occurs to me this may have been the real reason that my mother transferred to work at my high school the following year.

      I would of been _mortified_ to have her in same school as me. It feels like it edges on helicopter parenting. Like guys I'll see you at home, you do not need to be here to watch me or my teachers inevitably make mistakes and nitpick all of them and try to correct everything.

    I went to a public school, in a large city, in the not best area of town. So easy to say elementary school was like the wild west pregnancy, and when notes came home with me my parents were "oh God, what happened now??"
    From toilets set on fire, animals set loose in the building, swatted, cops, knives, child pregancy, and even a raid for child p ring run by the computer teacher.
    At college was told I should be a teacher and felt like war flashbacks thinking of everything my class did tot he teachers and quickly was a no thanks.

    Notice a lot of the stories had the teachers doing things that, these days, would probably get them in trouble. I know why, I get the logic, but then, when you see how many kids desperately need a good adult figure in their lives and teachers are so willing to step up to that plate, it's a shame we shut the whole thing down because a tiny percentage of them might fuck their students (and then the particular teachers who are that misguided fuck their students anyway). I wanted to hug half of these kids through the screen.

    • @AcemanXD
      @AcemanXD 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you mean the stories about driving the kid home? They tend to look the other way or not care about that type of stuff in small towns.

    • @BWMagus
      @BWMagus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, but there is other stuff, basically any form of attempting to help them that isn't in the classroom during school hours at arms length. I know a girl who essentially ran away to live with her math teacher for a spell. Her uncle was raping her, her other family members beat her, she was taken out of school for 2 years to raise he aunt's children, and the cops didn't really want to get involved because it was a native American family and they cried racism (and they all covered for each other, since they outright equated the government with whitey oppressing them). And that math teacher would have been fired and probably investigated extensively if it had been found out. The family didn't even care that she left, but that nice dude risked everything to help a poor lost girl.

    • @christinewolfe5481
      @christinewolfe5481 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Late reply, but Mexican isn't a race. Somebody with Mexican nationality may be entirely European, entirely Native American, entirely black, entirely Asian, or any mixture thereof. There are for example a lot of people of German, Polish, British, and other northern/western European ancestry in Mexico; would you call somebody who is mostly German and Italian "biracial"? (Mexican immigrants to the US tend to have significant amounts of Amerind and/or black ancestry, and therefore might well qualify as biracial, but they aren't necessarily representative of all Mexicans because there is a pretty profound socioeconomic stratification in Mexican society, with those of higher economic levels being more likely to be European. Former president Vicente Fox, for example, is the grandson of Joseph Fuchs, the son of German-speakers from Alsace, while Fox's mother was an immigrant from Spain's Basque country. He has no obvious non-European ancestry.)
