In one of your books you mention not being a fan of seated dumbbell presses because of their awkwardness...do you prefer kettlebells to dumbbells in that situation?

Hi, I've been struggling with the problem of shrugging my left side while benching, leaving the bar uneven. Any tips for correction of this problem? I love your channel!

Hey Josh love your content, my question is about the “2nd” or “light” bench day that many people program. I’m building my own program and just curious as to what you recommend during that lighter or accessory day, specifically when peaking

Josh...great content. Love it. I’m starting to use the Dead Bench in my program. What range of percentages do you recommend a person should be using to maximize my strength off the bottom? Should I use a single weight for say 8 sets of 1, or should I be looking to work up to higher weights in later sets?

Hey, Josh! Being life long drug free 28yo athlete I've built 418lbs bench almost exclusively on Sheiko routines, but I failed to bench 424lbs on a few different comps evenhow I completed cycles based of 425 to a 445lbs as a max. What works best for natties at this strenght levels?

Hi Mr. Bryant. Im a 300 lb bencher who just started a home gym. I bought a basic barbell, flat bench, plates, and squat rack. If you could supplement this with one or a few other purchases for bench work, what do you think would be the most worthwhile?

Josh, just wrote a 12 week program. 6 weeks of density training on bench, squat, deadlift and then go in to a peaking phase. Different then how I've programmed in the past. What are your thoughts on 6 week phases like this?

Hi Josh. Love your info and books. I am about to start another round of a 12 week limit strength program focusing on bench and squat. I’m a fairly tall and long armed guy 6ft-3” and I typically fail the bench near lockout. I incorporate close grip bench as a starter on my second bench day. I was thinking I should try switching to something like a close grip 2 or 3 board bench with just a light touch and pause on the bottom to try and nail the triceps a bit harder and remove the shoulders a bit. I tried JM presses but they really hurt my elbows as soon as I start adding significant weight. What rep progression do you recommend over the 12 weeks.

At what point in the bench does the most anterior delt come into play? I do floor, close grip, and dead press (from different heights). My triceps are decent for strength but I'm starting to wonder if it's my front delts that should be brought up more

What’s a minimal amount you can do for a meet prep? If you only have 1-2 days a week to train. Thank you.

Do you think improving grip strength will help with increasing bench press numbers? I've been considering getting some of the captains of crush grippers.

Hey Josh, in powerlifting style bench press how do you teach bar path? Is it straight up and down or more of an arc?

Are there any guidelines you would use to find rep maxes at different percentages to determine if someone was a hard gainer or fast gainer? Also. How do you determine the workload reps/sets/weights and progression of the workload prescribed for the main lift. Are there volume milestones you try to build up to?

Hi Josh, is shoulder strength that important in a raw bench?
If so, how to identify weak shoulders and best strategies to make them stronger ?
