These Guards are the prime of Britain and a real credit to their Country and do a really excellent job well done to them all so smart
Magnificent simply magnificent. Makes me so proud to be English.
British 🇬🇧
You are all amazing, ty guys and girls for your service 💂 🐎 ✨️ 💖 🤗
Makes me very very proud to be British when you see these magnificent mean doing such a fantastic job you should all be proud of yourself ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤xxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
There is just something so special about marching bands. Absolutely amazing. I was actually in London a couple of days before this and visited Horseguards as I regularly watch you tube videos of the guards.
I do hope the poor soldier that was unwell makes a full recovery they work so hard they are all simpley the best godbless all of you lol ❤❤❤❤❤❤xxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Dehydration would be the only problem for the trooper. If the trooper was ill, he would have been excused from drill.
They are magnificent indeed . A credit to a rich military heritage and tradition ... A few years ago I was surprised to learn that their duties are not strictly ceremonial but also they've been deployed in war zones (Afghanistan - Iraq) . Salute from a Greek fellow officer ...
I do hope the poor soldier will be Alright, I really do he didn't look well at all godbless you you all do a brilliant job and the beautiful horses xxxxxxx❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Best wishes for this soldier. May he have a quick recovery
Needs a good cuppa hot tea with lots of sugar and a wee biscuit on the side.
Let's hope for good sunny weather for the Trooping but obviously not too hot 🤞
The huge headgear is made from bear skins. The human head is where a great deal of body heat is expelled so wearing this type of headgear is preventing body heat to escape which causes the body to over heat and leads to head stroke, which can be deadly. The traditional pomp and circumstance is a sight to behold but not to the detriment of the health of a human being.
Gosh - memories of doing this in the mid 70's as a Welsh Guards Musician. And how welcome the pint of cold lager was afterwards in the pub!
When I was in the Army Volunteer Reserve someone asked the CO when was our passing out parade? He replied that we passed off, we leave passing out to the Guards!!!
You have a tradition that is absolutely beautiful. A sight to behold!!
Gotta love GSM Andrew Vern Stokes, the one man in charge of this entire thing. It is odd not to see the Horse Guards not in full ceremonial kit and having King's mews riders and carriage drivers. But only because it is a rehearsal for the Guards not the VIPs.
The bands sound wonderful!
Unfortunately you'll always have one soldier who faints on parade. I was always told to have a good breakfast before taking part in big parades and it worked for me. I hope the young guardsman recovered.
Marcha dos Soldados imprecionante👏👏❤
Amazing!
Guards with beards. What has the world come to?
Maybe 10 to 20 years to come, guards can have long hair like civis 😢
You do know some medical conditions exist that allow for soldiers to have a beard on
@@radiofm4265 what medical condition requires a man to have a beard?😅
Ingrown hairs, follicle problems. Try looking it up mate.😏
@@adamndgardener7123 come on 😅.. this is the military not kindergarten softies
Maybe time to consider a summer uniform, especially as it is now getting warmer. Tradition should evolve, especially clothing wise.
That is the summer uniform.
Perhaps they could wear the uniform they are wearing now in the spring and autumn, and someone could design a uniform to wear during the summer months especially as our summers are getting warmer. 💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
It would probably be too expensive to make up...we do not have long summers.@@jennholder1939
Well said...some traditions are very outdated. Health more important than uniform
Didnt prince william have a idea to put cooling packs inside them bearskins hats to keep them cool at tropping the colour gosh i hope he is ok ❤
Since the Guards are now allowed facial hair they look downright Victorian.
In my day if it could be proved that a soldier fainting on parade (or rehearsal) didn’t have breakfast - an official CO’s parade - he can be charged under the 1955 Army Act. Don’t know if that still holds. All sorts of tricks to stop yourself fainting.
The GSM (Verne Stokes) of the Coldstream Guards (the bloke with the pace stick “sharing his views” at the start of the video 😂) can also be found on YT in a documentary called Battle Stripes (about the platoon sergeant’s battle course). Don’t know when it was produced, but even all those years ago, he came across as being very good at his job. You don’t need to see the GSM’s lips to know what he said, something like “get it XYZ sorted.”
What breeds of horses are traditionally used by the Horse Guards? They're all so beautiful.
Common cases of fainting come from stress
And illness
And poor discipline!!!

How bout he got over heated 😢
Dehydration
I wish, especially with a special occasion that the person filming would narrate what is going on.
Its at 13:10. Hope he is ok.
Over the sea to skye ..I love that song. All the best for the soldier...
those knee's locked again!😁
Are the Coldstream soldiers older than the Horse Guards?. I know they were Dragoons- some of the finest light cavalry highly adapted infantry in the 1700’s. But I think both fought here in USA in 1700’s.
the first row isn’t in sync with the rest very disconcerting
The officers in the front are carrying swords, as opposed to the enlisted soldiers carrying rifles. This is the British military correct way to march swinging the free hand. Very difficult to do, and they do it well.
they were stepping with a different foot swords or rifles shouldn’t make a difference surely
@@carrieanderson341 do they?
Officers had held the sword in the right hand soldiers hola weapons in the left so obviously arm swings are opposite buy everyone is marching in step
Yes they are, they are holding their sword in the opposite hand to the rifles
Anyone else have trouble focusing on this one? It’s kind of blurry.
What is this? Practice? Celebrating?
Great control. Hot out there. 🎉🎉
How many troops are on the field at most?
2:08 what is the name of the song played by the bagpipes and the band plz?
Somebody with more patience than me should watch the whole thing and note down in a Comment the timeline of the incident, so that other viewers can watch the whole display without worrying about blinking!
PS AT another viewer's suggestion to watch around 13m., the camera follows 2 guards escorting another slightly wobbly one away - presumably to a rest-station. Very low-key and well-managed, and nobody falls flat on his face, prone but still at attention, as seen in other historic footage. Presumably he was front-of-queue for the lemonade!
Yes please.
If you put your finger on the red timeline bar at the bottom of the screen and drag it to the right you can make it fast forward,,,, pick up the commotion and then scroll back a couple of seconds to see the beginning of whatever happened.
Someone said the incident was at 13:10
Can someone explain the Officers in front have really bright red stipe on their trousers but all the others you can barely see the red stripe. Greetings from Downunder
You answered your own question when you said officers, commissioned officers wear a broad red stripe down the trousers while warrant officers ,NCOs and guardsmen wear a narrow stripe. Just a uniform distinction.
In the good old days, when boys were men, and men were mountains, and the wee girlie guards hadn't been invented, colours of flags and uniforms helped disoriented soldiers in the midst of battle locate their regiments and leaders so they could re-group and continue to fight in a unified way. The colours could be seen a long way off and were a rallying point. No radios or mobile phones in those days.
@@majorlaff8682 "wee girlie guards" , you get your pint of beer for that one!👍
I'll bet when you got sick or injured these wee girlies took good care off you.@@majorlaff8682
@@midnightteapot5633 thank you in a sense it was a guess re Officers, kinda wasn’t sure how to mention them 😀
You really need to improve your camera skills, you can't keep jumping from one place to another. Also by now thought you might have some commentary rather than just jumping from one place to another
What's happening here? Did someone pass away?
More likely passed out. It happens.
Ignorance is bliss!!!
Trooping the Colour rehearsal on Kings birthday
Trooping the Colors ceremony happens every year.
What does the blue plume on the side of the hat signify?
Irish guard regiment
It is called St. Patrick Blue.@@charlottecunningham2141
Do you mean Soldier as opposed to Solider??? 🤔🙄
So ppl are going to watxh 35 min of this to see a man collapsing in the heat. I think this is human cruelty. Beautiful, but beauty can be expressed in other ways without treating human beings and their physical bodies like machines and spiritless objects.
What's a 'solider?' Is that like soldier?
Look it up in the dictionery or google it
@@emstirling-is4nu *dictionary...🤪🤪🤪

Guards with beards and fainting Guardsman being carried by an officer 😅🤦🏻♂️.. thats 2024 for u
GUARDS TRY TO STOP SOLIDER' - What's a solider'?
An obvious typing error - soldier.
Is stopping him from collapsing the same as Helping him and treating him??? Just asking.
Good show, but come on let’s get rid of the scruffy looking beards looks bloody awful
100% right, the way that this is going, the Pioneer Sergeant and the Commanding Officers horse will be the only ones without a beard!!!
Watch the trigonometry interview with a journalist who did an exposé of the army. Army has gone completely woke - even have a person who looks after the 'non binary' soldiers and apparently make up is allowed to be worn by men (or should that be non binary/trans). If it goes on like this they'll be carrying handbags next instead of rifles😂
unfair,tradies,
