From Where her procession on a gun carriage transferred to the hearse and her army saluted her off for the last time The royal family with the field marshal’s, generals, admirals, and air chiefs all stood on that grass to the left for the last salute. It’s a really beautiful part of London and where the 19th century meets the present when the horses are present
Its a sound I love too. Have done since I was a young kid. I loved the sound of my horses shod hooves was awesome ut there something about these cobblestones in London that makes it even better. Sometimes i fall asleep listening to this sound. 😊
The horses and riders are amazing, just the exposure to horns, humans, cyclists, traffic noise. Horses cannot be forced to endure, it is done thru patience and reassurance.

No, it’s a sheepskin saddle cover for what was once a holster for a pair of pistols. You can see at 9:10 that there is a leather roll strapped over the pommel of the saddle to mimic it.
If you’re talking about around 6:35 in the video, my guess is they might be newer horses they are training to get accustomed to ceremonial duties. Wearing the saddle and reins, walking in a group along city streets with crowds, motorcycles etc.

They have been in uniform on duty since the 1660s..
