Great review, I have the Medalist one for R369 from Takealot I bought in September 6 months ago. I see now it is R529. Does the same job. Only time will tell how durable it is.
Hello Ruth do you think when folded it could be easily transported if strapped to a foldable bike? Cycling to the beach/fishing spot with this chair strapped on...
Lovely review Ruth. Annoyingly Decathlon loves big white tags whether it’s clothing or hiking gear ! Price should be a good deal, I suppose one must stay a bit further back from the fire
i got this chair today and was wondering if it should be so difficult to fit the chair to the poles, can’t seem to slide it in without thinking it might bend the pole
My chair also fits relatively tightly. I would suggest checking that the pole sections are snapped together properly before attempting to attach the cloth seat. Pole sections that are not seated properly can create weak points that might snap. So far none of my poles have bent or broken, and I have been using this chair for 6 months now.
Nice one Ruth. Would you rather take this one on an overnight backpacking trip or the Naturehike one? PS. I have my eye on the Trekology yizi lite 750 but it's tricky to get it in South Africa
To be honest, both chairs are too heavy for me to take backpacking. The Decathlon chair is slightly lighter, but Ralph (the only one of us who has actually taken a chair on a backpacking trip) perfers the NatureHike chair.
Thank you for this review :) especially for comparision to Naturehike chair. Very helpful!
Thanks for the comment 😊 Glad you found it useful!

Thanks! I have seen those Medalist chairs on Takealot and wondered what they were like.
Thanks Ruth!
Thanks Steph!

Ruth, Decathlon make a foot print for this chair too. So when sitting in sand of soft ground you don’t sink.

Ha ha ha! Yeah, I'll definitely be keeping this chair further from the fire from now on!
oh my gawd yes, Decathlon do love their tags. The simplest t-shirt comes with a foot long tag.
