@ 6'3" and 200 pounds, I have no comfort issues with this chair in the three years I've owned them. Leaning forward to tend to the fire gives me zero discomfort. YMMV
I have owned this Cliq chair for about four years. No, I don't backpack with it. I either car camp or store it in my motorcycle top box. I'm 5-8, 175 pounds. I find it extremely comfortable. Yes, I'm in a more prone position than other chairs I own like Helix, REI, etc. I had one issue where two of the bolts came out and Cliq quickly sent me four more. Other than that I really like the chair. Appreciate the sewn-in slot for my phone as I'm sitting. None of the fabric has degraded or frayed at all. When I stop to take in the sights and have lunch on my motorcycle, it's really a comfy thing. Out among the redwoods I love it.
I've had my cliq for more than a year and I love it, I'm 6'2 230 and I've never had a problem with anything digging into my legs, and been using it faithfully for camping and sporting events, and probably sold many just by people asking where did I get it, and some even tried it out themselves on the spot, I love it and its reliable/durable in my opinion.

Thank you
I have one of these, grabbed it off Amazon on a flash sale. Paid less then 90 for it. Yes it is expensive, but I have a hard time finding a chair that holds up. So far I find the chair comfortable, the ole lady seems to like it also. Can’t say much for long term as of yet. But so far so good for me
I have a cliq chair for everyone in my family. Great for family activities like parks and splash pads. Costumer service was top notch as well had a chair tear at one of the corners and the company sent me a replacement in a couple of days. Highly recommended.
I respect your reviews on outdoor gear and a search a while back is what led me to your channel. in one of your reviews several years ago you previewed a camp chair (Sprotneer) and I ordered it. I still carry it today and have logged many hikes with it. I fell asleep while shooting the Milkyway sitting in it. Thank you sir.
I have the predecessor to the Cliq Chair; the Go Chair. Both were sold on Indiegogo; the "crowdfunding" site for new products. I bought the Go Chair about 8 years ago. Exactly the same chair, just the name changed. It was good for it's time, compact and stable. I agree that it feels "weird" for an adult, but works great for my son and daughter who are younger than 15 and less than 150 lbs. Not lightweight, but very sturdy. I keep it in the truck and use it when the kids need a chair to sit in. It's nice that it is one piece and doesn't need a carry bag.
I've watched quite a few Cliq chair reviews... and this is the most thorough... I haven't seen too many reviews about the actual comfort of the chair. thank you!!!

I too recently purchased this because it was on discount for $75. I'm 6'9" and you nailed it! I have to use this more as a stool than chair because I'll fall backwards if I sit back. Only reason I'm keeping it is it fits conveniently on the back of my motorcycle for work.
Purchased 2 Cliq chairs 5+ years ago on a crowd funding site. The 2 chairs came with a storage bag. Your review is exactly how I feel about the chairs, they are not to most comfortable. You do slouch sitting in this chair. Used them quite often while camping and at the beach. They have held up well and are very easy to set up. Using them at the beach is nice because they can be adjusted by pushing the legs into the sand to find the most comfortable position.

Thanks for doing this review, good to see others thoughts. I bought 4 of these and got a free bag a couple years ago. They were like $35-$40 at the time. Surprised too see they are $100+ now. We use the mainly for car camping and like you said sitting at soccer games. The one thing I noticed is the rivets that hold up the chair get loose over time and the seat kind of rocks. Its a pro and con at times. I don't get the leg digging back into my legs, maybe I never noticed and it loosened. Overall the best part of these chairs is we can keep them in a front seat or a trunk and they hardly take-up space and are quick to setup and go. Thanks!
Nice honest review! I bought a Big Agnes Big Six Chair last year and so far really like it. There is no way I’d pay $110 when I could buy the Big Six for $20 more..
My brother in law bought this for me for backcountry hunting for Christmas one year. Funny thing was I already bought the Helinox Chair Zero 😂👍The Cliq is toooo BIG and HEAVY and it’s still in the box
Thanks for this review, since i have been searching for hiking and camping gear i have seen this chair online a lot, i live in Aus so finding camping products can be a bit harder and expensive, i am a bigger guy 290lbs i have tried the helinox chairs and although they say they will support my weight i just feel like i am waiting for it to break, this chair looks so much stronger and i was almost ready to buy it until your review, it does look uncomfortable so i think i will wait until your final review, love your channel, absolutely the best gear review channel anywhere.
Finally an honest review on this chair from someone that wasn’t paid off!! All the other Cliq chair reviews I’ve seen are very obviously biased for one reason or another.
Hey, Luke, I bought a pair a couple of years a ago. But about a year later, a bolt came off from the leg joint that attaches to the main hub and then a couple months ago the on the bolt other chair went missing too. I replaced both bolts (Home Depot) by matching one from the other leg attachment. All the other parts seem durable but they need to design those bolt to not come loose. I do agree with you on your assessment on comfortability. I would rate the chair a six out of ten for easy to set up but I would rate three for comfortability and durability.
I very much appreciate your honest review. Far too many paid affiliates out there glorifying products they don't even like. Cheers to you. 👍 I bought the Cliq chair and feel exactly the way you described it.
I reckon you'd really like the compactness of the 'Uquip Three Sixty Mini Folding Tripod Swivel Stool'. It folds up similar to this CLIQ chair, but allows you to lean forward and swivel... They're sold in-store at Globetrotter Outdoor stores across Germany and Scandinavia, as such, I know the company is confident on its durability...
I have 4 click chairs one for everyone in my family and we used them for 2 summers now, hard use like parks, water parks, music venues, camping and we have had zero issues. Find them comfortable as well, love the ease of use and no hastle set up/breakdown. Highly recommend.
I bought one a couple years ago and it has held up very well. I was skeptical about the price but it is very reliable and honestly packs away fairly easy. I recommend this chair .
@@soniadowney7427 show me a lightweight backpacking chair that supports your neck . Something you can pack in a bag. I don’t think they make such a thing
@@soniadowney7427 I totally see what you are saying and that is a good point . To be honest I slouch pretty far back when I sit in almost to where my neck is against the back of the chair. It’s not the comfiest but it’s very reliable in its construction.
I have 2 of them that I purchased about 4 years ago. They gave me the carrying case that fits both and I paid $60 a piece. I haven't had any problems with them. I use them for motorcycle camping and find them extremely comfortable. The height is also really nice, in that it is taller than those midget backpacking chairs, and slightly shorter than the $5 full size festival chairs; so I never feel like I'm sitting in a kids chair or towering over other people when camping. They generally stay in my car for extra seating when visiting friends, and toss them in the saddlebag when I'm out on the bike. I haven't noticed any issue with sitting upright, or leaning back with my feet kicked out. The wide feet and heavy legs on the chair keep it from falling over in a breeze before I can sit in it, and I haven't had them sink into the dirt while using them. All in all, a nice chair.
You’re mention of the seat material biting into the back of your legs is all I needed to hear. I’m not interested in spending a$100 to be uncomfortable. Thanks for mentioning that !
Nope. The front has 1 click, the rear has 2. If you don’t pull it all the way out, the arms will not seat right and the fabric will slack and not hold well.
I'm sure it has it's uses, but on the trail that reclined position isn't the one I want my body in. In a setting where I wasn't that concerned with what was going on right in front of me or at mostly eye level somewhere in the distance, it'd probably be okay. I could see this being a good chair at like at an outdoor music event or something.
I just got the one tigris about two years ago. Great chair. I can't justify thinking about purchasing a new chair when, the one I have is still in great shape.
I'm 5' 8" tall and I've had no issue feeling like I need to slouch in this chair. I have a Helinox chair that sits too low but is a great weight. The Cliq chair sits much higher and is much more comfortable. I agree with you regarding how portable the Cliq is because it is much larger than my Helinox. The Cliq is a fabulous and comfortable chair! My son is 6'2" and 198 lbs and we can't figure out why you feel so uncomfortable using it. Neither of us has had the fabric cut into our legs.
Good to know. I've been honestly considering this exactly because setting up other chairs are a bit of a hassle, but $110 is a fair amount more. It sounds like I would not have enjoyed the chair. Saved me the trouble of buying it, thinking it'll work, testing it out for a while and being too late to return it.
This would have to be a pass for me. I'm curious about the table but this chair doesn't look like it would be comfortable. Thank you for always sharing your thoughts so we can have an unbiased and honest review.

I bought myself one, which was kind of an expensive mistake . It is quite a bit faster then my other older design. But it is also heavier and does not come with a carry case so I had to rig something up when I go for a walk. (I don't like sitting on the ground because of the deer ticks.) Mine was a little bit stiff so locking it in place takes a bit of effort. A choice between this chair and my older chair which is lighter weight? I guess I would choose this one. But you do have to pick a spot where are the back legs will be on a bump
This looks and sounds like it could be a fixable problem for the manufacturer. Maybe if the front legs were shorter.... The easy set up is so nice. Regardless, it sounds like you know better options right off the top of your head :-) Thanks for doing your reviews. I like how honest and straight forward they are!
the "problem" is subjective, I don't know how tall he is, but @ 6'3" and 200 pounds I don't have any the comfort issues he mentions in the 3 years I've owned them.
As others have mentioned, I'm really glad to see your review of this chair. It confirms each of my suspicions. For me, the greatest drawback is the weight as it is not suitable for backpacking. Thanks for your excellent review (as always).
Depends on the backpacker. I will not go out with less than 50 lbs. Most of my buddies like to push it and stay between 100 - 140 lbs. Of course, we're all former military and hunters, need to be ready for hunting trips. Even quartered, an Elk is heavy!
I’ve had mine for almost 4 years and I only recommend it to friends when I can show them the fail points. Im not purchasing another one. I’m 5’11 220lbs and mine lives in my car and has only been used on level ground for camping. The nylon where the posts fit in will fail and eventually punch through. The dimples where the posts connect to the hub aren’t deep enough so after a while you’ll be able to pull the posts out of the hub. You can connect them back and it will work but if i wanted that inconvenience I’d just buy the same style chair as the camo chair he has in the video. I was in love with it for the first 2 years but quickly fell out of love with it and they have a 2 year warranty so no going to them for replacements for me.
Hi Luke, I agree 💯 with your assessment. I will not be buying this chair. I just bought a fire maple stove/heater and I love it. Thanks and be well my friend.
OMG, I’ve seen more than a few of your videos in the last 2 or so years as I am a outdoorsman as well. Upon watching this video posted 12 days ago, I’m feeling kind of stupid, well my story goes like this, I bought two of these Cliq (which rhymes with a D_ck) chairs on Cyber Monday and received them yesterday (Thursday) I proceeded to open one of the chairs. Snapped the legs open, pulled out the extensions, heard 4 clicks, sat down with a grin, bam, got it right up the a$$ 😢… it’s 6 cliq’s, not 4 cliqs, no pun intended😏… In all honesty this cliq chair suck’s, very uncomfortable positioning… they are going to be sent back today… I have 3 of the “ONE TIGRIS” chairs that were suggested by you “Luke” I believe a few years ago and I love them. They have never let me down nor try to violent me on the first date. Though I watch your reviews with a grain of salt occasionally, I should have watched this video 12 days ago on the date of posting, hey if I had done so, I wouldn’t be so butt hurt. 😩😂🤣 New Subscriber of today!!!
Would it be possible to not extend the telescopic front posts and try sitting in it then? Just wondering if that would work and also give you a more upright posture.
Its a good chair and I enjoy the lounge position of it, it is heavy not a hiking chair but a good portable chair. I bring it while fishing, going to parades or places that need a chair like a kids game etc. I would say its comfortable but my issue is the price.
Best chairs we've ever had for kayaking. Hasn't rusted in 5 years of using periodically in salt water. Fits in hatch, very comfortable. Able to lean back or sit up straight. Just put your butt farther back in the seat to sit up straight. Very stable. I've never been uncomfortable, ever. We've thrown out all our other chairs that haven't worked out and bring these everywhere, except hikes, too heavy for that . Wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.
I bought it years ago, much more expensive then. I also have their bigger version lounge chair at $300 a chair. I have used them a lot. I would not buy them at the prices I paid not worth it my opinion. The lounge chair I use more cause of back support and head support. I do like how small fold up tho and came with carry cases.
I was one of the original backers of this chair, ordered it when it was still crowdfunding. I was disappointed with it. Have had it now for several years, unused. Actually broke it out tonight and sat in it on the back deck, watching fireworks. It's not so bad, I guess. I'd never in a million years pack it into my camping gear, as I do hike in sites, but for patio use, it's not bad.
Hi Luke, if the front feet come off easily, could the front legs be shortened by cutting on a miter saw, to change the angle of the seat? Just a thought.
I have been considering this chair. A family had 4 of them last year at my son’s baseball tournament. I have a cascade mountain hiking chair from Costco that is extremely light and comfortable but it blows over in the wind and I feel like an Edward scissorhands setting it up. I thought one of these might be great because I could throw it in the wagon with my moon shade and other junk. Now I am not so sure. I would love to see a review of the more upright chairs. There is no way my family members with mobility issues could use this chair.
I think the material digging into the back of your legs is highly dependent on your height/leg length. I'm 5'-9". I find the basic Cliq chair very comfortable and do not notice anything digging into the back of legs. I also have a Cliq Lounge chair. I find the material digs into the back of my legs a bit on the Lounge. This is because the front of the Lounge chair is higher than the standard Cliq chair. So, my feet/lower legs do not raise my upper legs enough.
I have been searching for some collapsible/folding chairs for space saving in our camper van. I clicked on the link Luke provided and on Amazon Canada they are priced at $229. More if you want different colours. Not happening, especially now that I have seen this review. No way I could sit at that angle. There were similar ones from Sportneer for 70 or 80 that looked better positioned. I think I will look into those.
I bet the marketer who told you about the chair is now looking kinda foolish. Bet he didn't expect you to be so honest. Prolly thought you'd gush over it.
Because we all know that's what's really going on when random folks send you stuff or ask you to review a product; it's because they're connected to it somehow, either because they're selling it, marketing it, or produce it.
I suspect that the seating position is common to this style of chairs to more evenly distribute the user’s weight between all four poles. If you tipped it more upright, a disproportionate amount of the user’s weight would be carried by the front two supports, and the weight rating would have to be reduced, or the front supports would have to be beefed up/reinforced adding weight size and cost, to prevent failure. The seating position looks identical to every other chair I can think of, including my OneTigris chair.
Got the chair on sale for $80 in Amazon and find it comfortable with no dig in if I sit up. I got it for it's practicality to take on a skiff when I want to kick back or eat lunch.
I purchased this chair (dual set) 2 yrs ago. 3rd time using it, that center hub broke like pot metal. Happened out West in the Vegas area & it was pretty hot but I can’t say that was a factor or not, or my weight, I’m at 280. Still, being a senior & camping alone it was enough for me to lose confidence in the product.
Hi Luke, S&H, this chair is great but I fear a missed opportunity at greatness. Do you know of any chairs that are aimed at sand of muddy ground? All the best, SlowPhil.
IMO The camp chairs I have tend to be more comfy the longer you walk/hike and wait to sit. Any chair is better than no chair. I have the Travel Chair Slacker tripod quick fold. It's not a all day chair. It's light and fast packed- great for stand up sit down activities. I find while camping, I stand then sit every 5 minutes....
Appears the “Gee Whiz” boys got into that design… Not comfortable but you’ll be stylin’ with all of that black aluminum and rip fabric… A $5 Homer bucket works as a chair. You can carry your camp stove, a meal or two. Even a roll of TP just in case you’ve got to do a number 2.
Seen ads for this chair a lot on Instagram and idk something about it seemed off. Reading comments they talked about how big it was. To find out it isn't very comfortable and that's its just a reseller of a generic chair seems about right in what I was feeling.
It's on point with price versus ultralight backpacking chairs....it's just a car camper because of the bulk and weight. I personally love my chair one, but I can see car campers liking it.
Good afternoon, Tony (AB Camping) uses the larger one because of his back. I do not think the larger one is as "Layed back" as much as the small one you have.
Got the chair years ago when they were on kickstarter with a different name. Im close to the weight limit of the chair and have never had an issue with it supporting me even when my beagle jumps in the chair with me. Its not the most comfortable chair but it works. Got it to fit in the side cases of my motorcycle and takes a few seconds to set up and take down unlike my friends that are taking minutes to set up their helinox chairs. It was a good purchase at $65 back when i got it but definitely not worth the $110 it is now
I've been thinking about getting a camping chair. I still use the old tripod hunting for fishing stool. I'm very skeptical about making a purchase. I'll be mad if I buy something new and it breaks.
Definitely a pass for me. I need a camping chair that lets me lean forward to cook and do other chores. Even for relaxing, I get leg cramps if something digs into my hamstrings.
I reckon you'd really like the compactness of the 'Uquip Three Sixty Mini Folding Tripod Swivel Stool'. It folds up similar to this CLIQ chair, but allows you to lean forward and swivel...
@@FunkteonOo-oo-oo, this sounds like a great suggestion. Thank you. I did not like the fact that at the sitting position (or what seems to be an actual lounging position) that I would not have any neck or upper back support, as well as having it cut into the back of my legs. I need something closer to what @richard_n was stating he needed. I'll definitely check out your suggestion. Thank you again.
I had one a year or so ago. The orange hub snapped about an hour into the first day of use. There's just too much slop in the design of the hub. Maybe they've changed something since then, I don't know. I'm 230lbs btw.
I don't like any chair that causes pressure to my legs. I had a similar chair and I gave it away. My favorite camp chair was purchased at Costco for $37. It has a high back with a pillow headrest. It takes just a minute to set up. I actually fell asleep in it while fishing as it is quite comfortable.
I can't believe you did not tell us the name of the other chair in the video not did you put it in your gear links below. Can you please tell us what it is? Thanks. It looks perfect for what I want.😁
well, just picked one up at the local Goodwill for $6.99. So far, it's worth every penny 😂 Honestly, though, I own about 4-5 other simlarly sized camp chairs (all of which are much lighter), and I don't find this chair any less comfortable than any other chair I own; my experience is that these sorts of smaller chairs are just going to be somewhat less compfortable than a full sized chair and that's just sort of how it is. I honestly don't think this chair is worth anywhere near $100 bucks, but it's well-made and does what it sets out to do.
Hmmm...looks like all it needs to be a good chair is a redesign of the cloth seat part...or maybe slightly shorter legs in the front (to compensate for the "slouch")... Great review as always!!
I found that chair on a resale return store got it for 5 bucks and I don't use it that much because I have other chairs that are more comfortable. I freaked out when I noticed how much they are😮

After a while your neck would be sore holding up your head
@@soniadowney7427 show me a lightweight backpacking chair that supports your neck . Something you can pack in a bag. I don’t think they make such a thing
@@thelifeofmatthewhubbard7605 what I'm saying, with this chair, leaning so far back, you better have strong neck muscles. Check his head.
The chair is so feature packed it made my coffee this morning 😜😆 Great review as always!
100 doll hairs is a rough ask without a doubt, and yeah I've had a few chairs with the under leg digging. It's rough when using them a lot.
Another awesome review, Luke. 👍
Thank you for offering closed captions on your videos!!!
Luke, what happens if you use the chair without extending the front supports? Maybe the chair was designed to provide two sitting angles?
That is also my thought
Maybe that’s why it clicks twice? Great comment
Nope. The front has 1 click, the rear has 2.
If you don’t pull it all the way out, the arms will not seat right and the fabric will slack and not hold well.
I actually love the cliq chair. The seating position is comfortable to me. I guess everyone's different.
Not for me. No way ! 😖 Great review !

I purchased a OneTigris folding chair based on your prior recommendations. The OneTigris chair fits nicely on my bike's front rack.
I literally watched 3 people tip over in these chairs on one day at Gettysburg National Park this past summer.
I like that chair!! Pretty cool, but seems like it would really be hard to sit up straight in...but the design is cool...Keep them coming ☝️👍👍👍
But mine cost more than twice as much as the older chair I have. And there was no carrying case
Hi Luke,
I agree 💯 with your assessment.
New Subscriber of today!!!
Thanks for the preview. Looked at this chair several times glad I didn’t buy it. Always appreciate your reviews, agenda free! Thank you!
Love your work!
Can u still sit in it with the bottom of the chair not extended? If so is it any better that way? Just a thought.
Hey Luke, what happens if you don't extend the front support?
I was one of the original backers of this chair, ordered it when it was still crowdfunding. I was disappointed with it. Have had it now for several years, unused. Actually broke it out tonight and sat in it on the back deck, watching fireworks. It's not so bad, I guess. I'd never in a million years pack it into my camping gear, as I do hike in sites, but for patio use, it's not bad.
Hi Luke, if the front feet come off easily, could the front legs be shortened by cutting on a miter saw, to change the angle of the seat? Just a thought.
As long as you don't have to carry more than 1 very far, this is my go to chair for most situations. Highly recommended
Love the hight of the chair .. is the talbe just as tall .. ?
Would someone taller, say 6-0 to 6-1 with longer legs not have the leg issue you mentioned?
I have been considering this chair. A family had 4 of them last year at my son’s baseball tournament. I have a cascade mountain hiking chair from Costco that is extremely light and comfortable but it blows over in the wind and I feel like an Edward scissorhands setting it up. I thought one of these might be great because I could throw it in the wagon with my moon shade and other junk. Now I am not so sure. I would love to see a review of the more upright chairs. There is no way my family members with mobility issues could use this chair.
Hello Luke hope all is well. I was wondering have you tested the Moon Lence foldable chairs yet? if so what are your thoughts on it ?
I have that chair! I used it for 9 months in Kuwait and Iraq in my barracks room!! It was very comfortable.
Some people send me stuff just so I can break it. 😅
Nobody uses the stuff he reviews anyway. It's mostly all heavy and garbage.
@MG-ze3lf seriously? If you don't have anything decent to say, move your butt on. Don't bother replying because I don't read them haha
Have you done a review on that high backed hiking pole chair that came out recently?
what portable chair are you currently recommending?
I wonder if you can sit in it without clicking the lower part out?
what if you don't extend the front 'legs'.. not wide enough?
Hope they get the angle of the chair worked out, love the idea!
I’M looking for a chair to take on my motorcycle camping trips . This looks like it will work .
IMO
The camp chairs I have tend to be more comfy the longer you walk/hike and wait to sit.
Any chair is better than no chair.
I have the Travel Chair Slacker tripod quick fold.
It's not a all day chair.
It's light and fast packed- great for stand up sit down activities.
I find while camping, I stand then sit every 5 minutes....
Appears the “Gee Whiz” boys got into that design…
Not comfortable but you’ll be stylin’ with all of that black aluminum and rip fabric…
A $5 Homer bucket works as a chair.
They went on sale on Amazon now lol 😂
Not one I think I would buy though. Thanks for the look! Take care
We have a pair and they are kept in my van and used for the times where we didnt think we needed a chair. I dont use them as my primary chair.
It was a good purchase at $65 back when i got it but definitely not worth the $110 it is now
$110 is laughable
With no head support it looks very uncomfortable.
Yep,that angle of sitting needs a head support option for sure.
I had one a year or so ago. The orange hub snapped about an hour into the first day of use. There's just too much slop in the design of the hub. Maybe they've changed something since then, I don't know. I'm 230lbs btw.
What's the other chair in this video?
I don't like any chair that causes pressure to my legs. I had a similar chair and I gave it away. My favorite camp chair was purchased at Costco for $37. It has a high back with a pillow headrest. It takes just a minute to set up. I actually fell asleep in it while fishing as it is quite comfortable.
Can you please do a review of a gazelle tent?
Why the shades? Doesn’t appear sunny where you are filming.
You just saved me buying this. That back will kill mine!!
??? Enjoyed this video and the honest review. I’d like to know what the other chair is? Thank you.
I would choose the Big Agnes stool/chair you use instead, as they are both in the same price range.
I found that chair on a resale return store got it for 5 bucks and I don't use it that much because I have other chairs that are more comfortable. I freaked out when I noticed how much they are😮
That chair would be good for Star Gazing. I can't think of anything else!!!
Awesome!
I might like this chair. I normally use a laid back position, whether it's in my truck or my Lazy-boy.
