As a referee, I would always tell the young captains at the coin toss that they were here to decide what side they wanted to start the game from if they won the toss. I didn't want the toss-winning captain to pathetically call out to his team to be told what side THEY wanted; that doing so was a sure sign that they did not deserve to be team captain...to be decisive damn it! Needless to say I was shaking my head at the white captain--a grown man--right off the bat. How momentous could that decision (about what side to start from) be? Just pick a side and don't be an indecisive little weenie!
Or he’s asking the keeper what side he wants as he is most affected by the decision. Stick to reffing old man
@@laserbrains1345 the point is that all that information can be gained in ten seconds of consultation with coach, keeper, teammates, etc. That is a decision any captain should already be prepared to make beforw the coin toss. Part of being the captain. One of the only parts to being a team captain, since team captains have no other real duties, rights or privileges during the game. That was true during the 40 years I spent as a player and the 20 spent as a ref. Stop whining youngster, and play on.
pmcnamara1954 What difference does it make if he consults before or after? If you’re assuming a player is pathetic and undeserving of being captain based on that criteria, I can’t even imagine the other biases you held while reffing that led to you making subconscious one sided calls.
@@laserbrains1345 you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. I would typically greet the two captains, tell them we are going to have the coin toss, ask them to think about which side of the field they as captains will decide with if they win, and begin the usual ritual. Nine times out of ten, they liked the idea that I gave them permission to dispense with their habitual hollering back to the team "What side do we want?" It's no big deal. I would often tell the coach to send his captain over with that decision already made, and most coaches loved the idea of moving the kids one step closer to mature players like high school, college, semi-pro, or professionals, none of whom holler back to the team "Which side do we want?" because they just want to get on with the match. These are typically 10-14 year-olds, still learning. Believe me. If the goalkeeper wants the morning or afternoon sun in his adversary's eyes instead of his own, he will be sure to make it known to whoever is going to take the coin toss.
I refereed players as young as 8 and as old as 20, and rarely did any captain do the "What side do we want? after about age 16. I played on teams from age 19 to about age 58, including in leagues similar to these videos, and nobody ever did that at the coin tosses I was captain for. I was really surprised to see it at the level of the players in this video, hence my comment. I have refereed international tournaments alongside FIFA and national refs. Little stuff like this does not lead to unconscious bias or whatever else you seem to be projecting or fantasizing. Chill out.
@@pmcnamara1954 the guy you're criticising has played for years. He used to play against me in highschool football and we actually had to defensively make our gameplan revolve around him to beat his team. Guy is a competitor and in the 15+ years that I've played with and against him I've never questioned his leadership or class.

IST d3 is glorified high school, just faster. D1 players should be able to maintain some type of possession game, and u should see better 1 v 1 skills
I would hope for the sake of the sport that d1 and d2 be miles ahead of us. Some of us in this video are almost 40 lol.

6:33 keeper in completely the wrong position, I've made alot of complaints on here about keepers but cheers for the uploads these are entertaining.
They're all disastrous, bad passes crappy tackles, bad body position no control, no sense of sportsmanship, no quality just strength but the 19 in blue is an example 💪

First goal gave me 3 different types of cancer, utterly zero marking, a goal/free kick allowed to pass the back 4 in contested and a clear cross attempt looping over a hapless keeper

IST ball should never get that far uncontested , marking was nonexistent. Your thought that in under 8’s. As for the finish, the less that’s said the better

The blue team isn't half bad, but wow #7 and #18 are very bad on that team. Replace those two and you might have a better chance next time.

How #6 if captain for the blues I don’t know. His marking was non existent, he was taking too many touches inside his box instead of clearing it and when #7 white was on the edge 13:59 he wasn’t tackling him he just let him into the box. In my opinion #19 should captain as he does his job and sets the standard of which the team should. #19 always has to clean up at the back for others mistakes.

The refs in these games are letting too much rough play. Cardable fouls are given no call. Could have been a good match. There was skill on the field.
