  • Despite knowing the DA was going to be against me, decided to take another shot at running an 11 sec pass at Gainesville Raceway. This was more of a have fun, test a few ideas session. DA never got below +1100 DA, so it was far from optimal. Track surface was hooking decent enough, so decided to give it a whirl. I also had my 275/50-17 M&H Racemaster drag radials with me, just in case.

      It takes some time to get a handle on just how fast these cars accelerate. I learned very quickly to make sure I had plenty of open road ahead of me if I romped on it. They devour open road at a pretty rapid rate, so it pays to be cautious and cognizant of what's in front of you. Congrats on the upgrade, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

      Lonnie Aspinwall thanks just need to figure out how to properly launch and shift the gears which it's the 8 speed shouldn't be too difficult

      I run mine in Sport mode, and let it do the shifting. I've tried manual mode at the track, but it usually slows the car down a bit. Computer knows when to shift better than I do, and it will do it right every time...lol. If you watch some of my other track vids, you can see just how effective letting the car do the shifting is at getting the best times. Launching is something that takes a bunch of practice....but once you figure out what the car wants, these things are bracket car consistent.

      Lonnie Aspinwall so basically just keep it in drive and put on sports mode and Idk what that does to the traction but sports mode tightens up the shifting times right?

      Sport mode tightens up the shift times, quicker throttle response, and backs the traction/stability systems off for minimal interference. It becomes a very diffrtent car.

      Next time the car goes to Gainesville, she better run 11's or I'm going to be rather annoyed...lol. New setup in the works, just a matter of getting it together, broken in, and tuned right. New combo should be in the 480-500 rwhp range when it's all said and done.

      Thank ya sir. I was pleasantly surprised at the times, given the DA. We are supposed to cool off again by Friday, so my happy azz will be giving the DRs another shot in better air.

      I'm curious to see you crack a .8XX

    • @lonnieaspinwall3862
      @lonnieaspinwall3862  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I should be able to get an .8xx out of her on the Atturos if the track will hold. It will take a low 1.7x or high 1.6x 60ft to do it though. That's demanding a lot out of a street tire....hell, its even asking a lot out of a drag radial to do that.

      Lonnie Aspinwall I think you can do it in good weather with good track prep. I'm in the 1.67 range with ease with my Dr's and I bet you will be too.

    I don't understand. I get better launches with my scat pack with traction control ON. On my stock tires I went 4.4 0-60. Just ordered 315 for the back so we'll see if that helps. loved the vid!

      Thanks very much, and that's one of the good things about Sport mode. It still has TCS active, just very forgiving in what it lets you get away with. I've tried running with TCS disabled, but car just wanted to spin on launch. I found that Sport mode works best + it lets the torque management help hook the car a bit. If you watch the tach on some of the runs, it flashes to 3k, holds there, then starts climbing...torque management being active. It helps when on street tires, but hurts a bit when on a sticky tire.

    Lonnie,
    Do you do your burn outs in 1st gear? I assume you have the tazar.
    Thanks for your posts

      Dave.....I start in 1st, then toggle to 2nd to get a little more wheel speed during the burnout. After that, click it back into auto shift mode for the run. I was using the Tazer, but decided to sell it since I wasn't going to the track as often once the weather got hot. I may order another one for when the weather cools off again....plus, I'll need it once I go to my drag wheel setup.

    what does the air filter off do

    • @lonnieaspinwall3862
      @lonnieaspinwall3862  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It helps with the air flow, which in turn gets the inlet air temps down quicker. The filter and airbox get heat soaked, and takes a few seconds to cool down....no filter means more rapid drop + zero flow restriction. Once you are moving, it acts more like a ram air setup if you have the HC inlet tube.

    Freakin' Atturos are worth every dollar. Nice pulls, keep it up. BTW, I traded up my SRT 392 for a Challenger Hellcat (only human). After the break-in I had a chance to do a few pulls bone stock with the summer tires. th-cam.com/video/Ez3KyLFEPsE/w-d-xo.html

      Dude, congrats on the upgrade. I'm hoping to do that same thing next year, especially after watching a stock HC Challenger run 10.8's on DRs at OSW. The Atturos are definitely worth every dollar and then some. I was surprised they bit as hard as they did at Gainesville, especially in comparison to the DRs. To be fair though, I still haven't figured out the particulars of the M&H's, so I'm expecting to eventually get into the 1.6x 60ft on those. But knowing I could have run 11's at Gainesville on the Atturos, that was unexpected/outstanding.

      Lonnie Aspinwall hi do think it helps to put 4 az850 or just rear?

    What mods do you have besides the air box trick? 11s is damn fast!

    • @lonnieaspinwall3862
      @lonnieaspinwall3862  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      D Loutz It was just the Hellcat airbox then the Mopar cai. I've cranked off 11.9's using the HC box and inlet tube, on stock tires. I broke the car before I got to run it in cool air with the Mopar cai, but it should have gone 11's on it. 116 mph traps in +1200 DA is plenty for 11's.

    Does your Scat Pack have the SRT performance pages?

    • @lonnieaspinwall3862
      @lonnieaspinwall3862  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the Tazer to unlock the SRT Performance Pages, but otherwise it's just the normal Performance Pages that an R/T gets.
