    Quite a good video ! Personally, I also warn the pillion before over taking another car, so that acceleration doesn’t come as a surprise. I also ask if all ok prior to moving on the bike when starting, once the pillion is installed. And finally I instruct not to get off the bike unless I give my clearance. Might be from my flying experience….if these tips help….

      Thanks mate, there's way more than just 10 tips but sometimes you dont want to over kill with tips :). Always appreciate it when people put their own tips in the comments box as this will help others reading through this section just as much as them watching my video will.

    Brilliant idea l, I am looking for a new touring bike for me and the wife next year so someone else’s opinion will be very helpful👍👍😊

      Best way to have the other half let you ride more is by getting them in to it as well. What bikes are you thinking of at the moment? sport tourer/tourer/adv bike?

    • @andrewmason2879

      @@DSR1YT I have yet to test ride them but the new bmw 1300 or the bmw1250 Adventure. But I am not sure with the new BMW 1300 because it is new and new bike they always have teething problems like any new bike that comes out. The BMW RT LE but not sure if it is going to be a bit cramped with the knees more bent. Just thinking the legs would be a bit more straighter on an Adventure bike. And the Ducati V4s or the touring version. But it’s a chain not a shaft drive. But to be fair I have done some long tours on my chain drive gsx1400 bike and never had an issue with it. And it’s never gone slack and I have got away with giving it a good clean when I have got home. But the only downside is it drinks fuel. But after 150 miles I am ready for a stretch anyway. And of course all this depends on the wife being comfortable and the easy of getting on and off. Happy wife Happy touring😀 and she loves being on the back and exploring with me 👍. I have been on the new Triumph 1200 but found it very snatchy on the throttle it was not smooth at all at slow speeds at all.

    Nice video, what are the love handles couldn't really make them out it looked like handles on the back of Matts jacket?

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a belt with two handle loops on. Rider puts the belt on and you can either clip it on your front or your back and this rotates the location of the handles to your rear third or your front third. Depending on what the passenger feels comfortable with.
      Hope that makes sense 😁. Saves the passenger having to hold the grab handles that aren’t always easily accessible. 🤙

      I think the most important things for two up riding is having a bike that has enough power for the extra weight. Comfort is very important when going long distances. And easy of getting on and off for the pillion. And able to get both feet on floor you do not want to be on tip toes with all that extra weight 👍👍

    Do you not find that suspension set on minimum causes a problem two up? I thought it was only to be used when mounting but should be on auto once up and running? Does the suspension not bottom out?

    • @DSR1YT
      @DSR1YT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hay Simon, ive not found it bottom out but we dont ride 2 up a lot, Zoe has her own bike and prefers being on that than on the back of mine.
