Apple has had several updates since this video. If you are on iOS 16, from the Wi-Fi settings, tap the new "Edit" button and authenticate yourself, and you'll see a list of Known Networks, which are all of the hotspots you've saved to your iPhone or iCloud Keychain from your other Apple devices.
Liron, how about doing a episode on how to automate the control of the Wifi & Bluetooth off/on condition (like several people have said in the comments).

Your not turning off wifi when you hit the button. Your simply pausing it for your use/function... think about it. Most of our modern day devices dont have an off button.. it's a stand by button. Still on still active.
I knew this intuitively a few years ago. I turn my wifi off my phone before walking out of the door. It is now a habit for me. I then turn it back on when I come back home. Good that you are sharing this video though. Thank you. Good job!
And I almost always turned it off, but not because of security, but because the messages are constantly distracting, and when I have time, I turn on the Internet and watch.
Your phone DOES actually listen to you. I remember when my family went for a walk and my dad was the only one with a phone. We all put our phones on airplane mode for battery, we were talking about oatmeal. Guess what the first thing that shows up on amazon is when he turns on amazon? OATMEAL PRODUCTS. We were also way far from home. So yeah...

For iPhones if you go into the wi-fi settings “edit” is on the top right hand side, this will show you the networks you’ve connected to recently and you can delete the ones that seem appropriate. Hope this helps :)
For years I have made it a habit to have things like WiFi and Bluetooth turned off. Not because of security so much(but it is a positive) but because if they are on when not needed, it drains the battery faster. One thing I like about my Samsung, are the Bixby routines. Mine is set to turn on WiFi at home, but as soon as I leave and the connection is broken(too far away) it turns WiFi off.
I have an S21 Ultra. Thanks for the heads-up, so I can figure out how to do that. I already keep them turned off when I leave, but it'll be nice to automate it.
Wifi and Bluetooth would take months to drain a phone's battery unless there's an active connection but even then power usage is low. It's an absolute myth that switching them off will have any noticeable effect on battery life.
@@chriscliffordCH you should try it. It takes months in airplane mode. I personally know this cause I still use some old devices off and on for certain equipment that's bt compatible

Great advice for people who need to be "connected" all. the. time. I never use wi-fi outside of my home on my phone, unless at a close families place. Convenience. Kills. Period.

My phone is set to have the WIFI off until I enter a certain geographic area and then it automatically turns back on ( like when a get home ). Generally, though, I don't worry that much about being tracked or Man in the middle. I know what information my phone leaks and I'm comfortable with it.
I used to work for Motorola and one thing that has stayed with me in particular was "how to prolong your battery life" because of that I always have everything turned off that I don't use, when I leave my home I'll turn off my wifi, I only turn my mobile data on when I'm ready to use my phone. Very interesting video Liron, as it happens I was always turning off the WiFi on my cheap and cheerful Vodafone x9 ( very good camera for the price,by the way) as it would constantly beep at me as I walked past various houses with WiFi and I couldn't seem to stop it! Also I found that when going online outside, it would tell me there was no connection but turning WiFi off resolved the issue.Possibly quirks of a cheap handset I suppose. Now that I've upgraded to a more sophisticated Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro ( great phone) I will definitely turn it off outside.Keep up the good work.

Okay, so this is only a problem if you're someone who connects to open WiFi hot spots. How can someone connect to your phone without the WiFi password? Only reason I know to that it is better to keep WiFi off when you are out in public is that you will lose more battery while it is constantly scanning also having WiFi on helps keep your location available for your device because some software out there can tell where you are by the nearest WiFi location.
On iPhone it is possible to see the list of known networks. Use the Shortcuts app. Automation -> New -> Create Personal Automation -> Wi-Fi -> Network (Choose) Now you are able to see a list of all known networks! @@percyfaith11 There is no reason to use it when 4G LTE v WiFi has no noticable difference in my area. "Data-Caps" as we knew them 10 years ago are a total thing of the past when it comes to major telecoms. The less devices on my home network, the better.
Hi! I really appreciate your videos and found them very helpful. I have a question: How you make your "animations" in your video? What software do you use for those? I would like to use such animations also but I'm not an animation freak... :-) Thanks.
For iPhone to see the full list of networks just go to settings > Wi-Fi > Edit (at upper right of screen) this will show the full list of networks you have registered on the phone
You can see a list of ALL known networks on iOS by going to the wifi menu in settings and pressing edit on the top right. But honestly, this is something that doesn't really bother me because it's harmless. So what if you see a ping from my phone? You still can't do anything to the phone. It might be different if I had a public network on my phone you could spoof, but I don't.
technically I could set up a T-Mobile or a Verizon hotspot since these are open networks that don't require a password. So yes. What I would do it delete those wifi from your list. Whenever you need to use them in a store, just connect to it (with a VPN) and then forget that network when you are done.
What's right for you may not necessarily work for someone else Why clear the whole list of Wi-Fi's that you ever connected to if they're all trusted networks, only to have to put them all back on later? It just don't make sense, depending on your lifestyle Let's say you visit 10 different places regularly and you regularly connect to each one of those trusted Wi-Fi networks It wouldn't pay to clear my list only to have to put all of those right back on, it would only be an aggravation, because it would be more trouble than it's worth for some of us This is why what's right for one may not necessarily work for another
You clear the list and only reconnect to the ones you are actively using and not just keep all those once off wifi hotspots like airports or hotels or conference wifi. But you are right - if you don't care about your privacy and it's too much work to enter the passwords then by all means don't do it.
I have a 2 phones & IPad touch, the one iPhone is empty or has store apps. No contacts or home WiFi same as IPad touch and my phone main iPhone never connects to my home WiFi because I use a one of my tablets in house or laptop. My store apps are on my iPod touch and it small easy to carry.
For iPhone, you can view a list of all networks you've connected to if they synced to your appleid's keychain on a mac in network preferences. They should all be the same if you're on the same Apple ID
Thanks. I just checked my iPhone and I see that list of Wi-Fi networks I’ve used as ‘other networks’ showing up at the bottom of the list of currently available networks.

Aalthough i did receive a few phishing sms after i gave my new phone number to my bank, i did it personally through a clerk. But as i ignored 3 or 4 phishing sms that i was entitled to some free money or smth they just stopped.
They don't give women pockets so I have to store my phone in my backpack and what's the point of having the mobile data on when I can't reach it? Same for Bluetooth and location services etc. I used to use my phone on Airplane mode at night as wellxD

Thank you. I love it when tech guys talk so even I can understand. Thanks again 😊
Happy to hear that!
In response to your saved wifi's on an iphone... when your in the wifi settings, hit edit and it brings up the saved wifi spots there.

Liron, thank you so much for this useful information! I just experienced the store ping phenomena. I was looking in a closed shop window early in the morning before open hours and when I got home they came up in both mt You Tube and Facebook feed which kinda of mildly freaked me out a bit. it felt very big brother. Dude I'd love to see you put out a guide you could even sell like the top twenty basics for seniors to know about their phones. super old people might not care but 60&70 somethings do. We can use our phone for all kinds of stuff but security is not our area of expertease. This one video now means I have to binge watch all the rest. especially needing info around AI.
Hey, no reason to pick out "seniors" here ... I speak to many many young adults who don't have a clue about this stuff.
Oh, so now China could take all of your information at their leisure.
As always, thank you Liron, your the best 👍

I don't use public wifi or anything that asks for my location big mistake. The only Wi-Fi I connect to is home Wi-Fi. I don't go to hotels anyway most of the time I have Wi-Fi turned off and use it on my computer. Thanks for your videos very useful information I can tell others to keep their Wi-Fi off in public.
i love your profile pic! 💕
I keep echoing this to ppl and to no avail. Hope you reach more ppl and they pay attention. Great video! 💙
My Android must be too old as I did not have any of the settings to switch off as you suggested. I did find a "nearby scanning" feature that I disabled and will be vigilant on turning off Wi-Fi when I leave. Thanks for the tips! Appreciate!
I have the latest Android and I also did not find Wi-Fi in the settings, maybe somewhere in the developer mode or somewhere else..
Wow Thanks for sharing this crucial information in protecting your mobile from unwanted intrusions . It's funny I'd turn off my mobile data when coming back into my home because I'd automatically connect to my WiFi. Thanks to your fantastic knowledge & sharing this I will certainly turn off my WiFi when leaving the home . I'm so shocked at how easy someone could access all your details so easily ' through you leaving your WiFi on when out ! New subscriber here 🙂💜 Hi from the UK 🇬🇧.
I'm sharing your video too so no one else is a victim in this . Again Thank you 😊 🙌🏼🙌🏿🙌🏻🙌🏾🙌🙌🏽
Why are you even using WIFI on your phone in the first place? I use it for my ipad because I don't have data with it.
@@lemurianchick I use my WiFi to save my Data charges & keep them to a minimum. 😊🙌🙌🏽
They don't have to connect to your phone. They just intercept the data coming off your phone
On iPhone it is possible to see the list of known networks.
Use the Shortcuts app.
Automation -> New -> Create Personal Automation -> Wi-Fi -> Network (Choose)
Now you are able to see a list of all known networks!
But unfortunately you are not able to delete one of them.
It is only possible to reset all network settings.
Hope I could help.
I never knew it was this dangerous to use shop Wi Fi when I was on pay as you go. Its much better to be on contract so I never need go on wi fi now. Thank you for this warning. Its very valueable information. ❤
Yo i didn’t even know this thank you for sharing this with me and everyone this video was awesome cause it shares useful tips and it’s not a hour long keep it up your great
Glad I could help
You have solved my long-standing mystery ..
thank you so much!
Thank you for this important, informative message.
Thanks for the heads up reminder !!!
You’re very right .on thanksgiving I went to my daughters house once I enter my phone asked me do you want to connect with such …………..TV I was kind of surprised
WI FI, Bluetooth and Location should always be off when outside of home. Bluetooth is incredible at all the stupid crap that it does all 'On it's Own'!!
Ya'll Take Care and be safe, John
how about using airpod all the time. even going outside 😮💨😪
Thanks my friend.👍
I either turn wifi off, or i have it connected to another (personal) phone :)
Most sympathetic tech guy so far.
You rock!
0:32 iPhone does have a feature like android but it will wipe the whole Wi-Fi list go to general, transfer or reset iPhone click RESET not erase the. Click reset network settings
Some androids - to delete (forget) saved wi-fi network connections. Wi-Fi > 3 dots on right > Saved Wi-Fi > long press on network name > Forget. I was trying to get it to forget from the wi-fi list that shows up on the main screen, didn't work that way.
On the iPhone 12 you can set WiFi to ask if you want to join a known network, so it doesn’t just automatically happen. Thanks for the informative video.
The same is true of iPhone 11 running ios 16.1.1. Liron's video seems to have been irrelevant for most iPhone users.
Howzit, I love your videos!! I am definitely a NON computer geek and so happy that you explain very clearly and I can actually follow amd do what u recommend (after several replays lol). By the way I would guess that you are a fellow Saffa? 😀
Yup (or Ja 😜)
Thanks for the info😨
Thanks brother 🔥 appreciate you being here 🔥
Which global (regular visitor to China and U.K.) VPN provider that you recommend?
No, the phone doesn't automatically connect. It ONLY connects IF you have set it to automatically connect to that specific network.
More security features should be available for WIFI routers including Personal Hotspots etc.
There should be ways to disable WiFi signals from outside the house walls or WiFi server encryptions with alarms so if someone breaks into your WiFi an alarm should go off.
how do you geofence wi-fi? 😄
Dude just stop
So, the first 10 seconds and video description translates to me as "This content is not for me, I never use WiFi, just LTE Data, but I will still play this video thru to the end and leave a comment/like because Liron's channel has saved my ass so many times."
I may not be able to afford a Patreon but I can afford **engagement**
appreciate you!
@@LironSegev You're the best mate, you make challenging concepts engaging and easy. Many thanks.
You don't have wifi at home?
@@percyfaith11 There is no reason to use it when 4G LTE v WiFi has no noticable difference in my area. "Data-Caps" as we knew them 10 years ago are a total thing of the past when it comes to major telecoms. The less devices on my home network, the better.
@@dylanherron3963 my very much cap at 60G is very real now in 2022
U must pay a mint for ur data so it’s never throttled
WiFi would be much cheaper
Hi!
I really appreciate your videos and found them very helpful.
I have a question:
How you make your "animations" in your video?
What software do you use for those?
I would like to use such animations also but I'm not an animation freak... :-)
Thanks.
Adobe After Effects
You can edit or delete previous wifi networks in MAC OS not sure about iOS
Yes. Os get updates. See pinned comment
For iPhone to see the full list of networks just go to settings > Wi-Fi > Edit (at upper right of screen) this will show the full list of networks you have registered on the phone
Terrific advice as always. Thank You Liron.
My pleasure!
Interesting, informative, and easy to understand.
You say use a vpn. But a year earlier you said don’t use a vpn
I have never done this really, because I'm always worrying about battery life.
But I honestly never thought about the security aspect of it.
Thanks for the valuable info your awesome man helping people with no knowledge about technical issues.
And why do we get our neighbors printer listed on our wifi?
They can still follow you even if your phone is totally off.
Exactly! Turning everything off just makes people think their safe
Same thing when you delete your view history. It can still be seen
If you have never ever used an unsecured WiFi in your life then you are good.
@@LironSegev
If I have used only wifi in T-mobile or Verizon store, am my phone at risk?
technically I could set up a T-Mobile or a Verizon hotspot since these are open networks that don't require a password. So yes. What I would do it delete those wifi from your list. Whenever you need to use them in a store, just connect to it (with a VPN) and then forget that network when you are done.
Love this guy, Love this channel!!
and this guy loves you!!!
On iPhone you can use the ‘Reset Network Settings’ option in Settings and all your saved wifi connections will be wiped.
Thanks. See pinned comment
Turns off phone doesn't watch the rest of the video 😂
Don't really care, I'm poor anyways. Maybe they'll get my information to give me money.
😁😁😁😁👍👍👍👍
That’s why poor people are a risk
Poor people are selfish. Didn’t you listen to anything he said. You can comprise those in your contacts
Then why even watch this video??
I got into the habit of disabling wifi on my phone whenever I leave my house. That way I save battery on my phone.
What's right for you may not necessarily work for someone else
Why clear the whole list of Wi-Fi's that you ever connected to if they're all trusted networks, only to have to put them all back on later?
It just don't make sense, depending on your lifestyle
Let's say you visit 10 different places regularly and you regularly connect to each one of those trusted Wi-Fi networks
It wouldn't pay to clear my list only to have to put all of those right back on, it would only be an aggravation, because it would be more trouble than it's worth for some of us
This is why what's right for one may not necessarily work for another
You clear the list and only reconnect to the ones you are actively using and not just keep all those once off wifi hotspots like airports or hotels or conference wifi.
In India, I rarely find free WiFi😅😅😅.
I don’t know how I haven’t seen your page till now!?!??? Definitely subscribing, great videos.
For iPhone, you can view a list of all networks you've connected to if they synced to your appleid's keychain on a mac in network preferences. They should all be the same if you're on the same Apple ID
Someone in comments on my channel just told me about yours. This is a great video. I'm a new subscriber. Thank you!!!
Thanks. I just checked my iPhone and I see that list of Wi-Fi networks I’ve used as ‘other networks’ showing up at the bottom of the list of currently available networks.
