    My daughter worked in a motel for about a year as a manager. They had lots of repeat salesmen that were arrested for invasion of privacy and peeping and other thing’s because of these cameras. They would put them in and come back and ask for the same room the next time they were in town when they knew they were going to change jobs or something. They didn’t know housekeeping scanned the room every morning.
    I think every place should do this.

    This is a real thing. Ten years ago I moved 1400 miles cross country. I reserved five different motels and two of them had hidden cameras inside the room. The first one I didn't realize until I'd spent the night and then noticed the red flashing light. I called the police who assured me that the camera wasn't hooked up to anything and I was worrying about nothing. I left them a poor review on multiple web sites. The second one was at my destination city and alerted I inspected the room before turning in and found five cameras, two in the bedroom and three in the bathroom. I called the police there as well and they came and checked them out and then went to the office and talked to the manager/owner and they ended up arresting that person. I didn't stay at that motel. I found a different one and no cameras. While apartment hunting in my new county I found several apartments that had cameras in them. I reported all of them. My experience tells me that 40% of all motel rooms have cameras and a quarter of all rental units do. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

    Already spent so much time to find cameras in my own apartment placed by others, and here are my tips in return. The hinges from inside doors, where there is a hole in the pin (every inside door in the house!) and the flushing knobs built in the wall of the toilet, where a spare space is for pressing them. They are really getting a private view of you.....All ladies who are living on their own, do your check up regularly. (solution: tape it off)

      My two cats went bonkers at the patio sliding door even though the drapes were closed they could see something. I looked through the drapes and there was a man and he started running away. There was a package of potato chips on the patio floor. The police had hoped I could look at pictures and identify a man that was exposing himself to girls. I saw the peeper in the pics but it was not the man the police were trying to get. This was decades ago. Be very careful out there.

    I protect myself by staying home anymore, just glad I am old and already had my experiences, travel. If I need to stay in a hotel and there is a hidden camera, the joke is on the person recording me. I also will NEVER stay in an AirBnb again, once I found out they are allowed to have cameras everywhere inside (except place you change clothing, the bedroom and bathroom). It's a bunch of nonsense, if I am paying that much money to rent a place for one night (including almost $50 for a 'cleaning fee'). I Demand privacy at all times inside a place. And I would also want privacy if making a cell phone call outside but on the property.

    • @JohnS-er7jh
      @JohnS-er7jh ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@strongtowerman9661 I don't know the specifics of the laws in each country or State. But I read the policy in the United States is AirBNB hosts are allowed to have cameras everywhere except (in the bathroom and bedroom). But like I said its nonsense, I travel alone and sometimes i might be changing in the common area outside the bedroom and I demand privacy (just like I would when staying inside a hotel suite). If they are going to install a camera, it should only be one that is coming into and leaving the place at main door and it should be clearly visible so you know it is there. So given now I have heard of too many cases of AirBnb guests being recorded (and AirBnb hosts defending their right to do so, to prevent property damage/liability) then if that is the hosts position, they will not be getting anymore of my hard earned money and I will be posting this message all over social media to warn AirBnB and other property rental website customers, that if you stay in these places there is a high probability you are being recorded.

    I truly believe there are hidden cameras in my apartment. I live in a private owned duplex. There are holes in every corner of each room at the top of the wall and holes by the electric outlets. I’ve been here two years and every single day I get very weird vibes that I’m being watched and it Kind of scares me. What if my Landlord is a psycho perv or the property manager. They sale footage of people and get paid on weird websites. What if I’ve been watched this whole time? It sickens me, because I feel weird about it. I get a vibe that I shouldn’t be staying in here, but it’s the cheapest I could find. It saddens me. For real.
