I was there when Tobi said that... It was glorious... LOL. Great to meet you and thanks for making me feel welcome too, meant a lot.
And those bugs, I went through a lot of the same areas and my experience was pretty much bug free. Regardless playing through it with all of you under the same roof and the conversations that were had will forever be one of the great days in my personal gaming history.

KCD1 was the RPG we have been waiting for since mid 80's, man oh man, the hardware is miraculous now.... KCD2 is looking sooo good. Love how every small accomplishment feels so well earned, and dang it if ya don't get emotionally involved in building up that little nobody into a man eh?

KCD is one of the best RPGs I've played, can't wait for this one to release.
Go play the first game if you haven't, it goes on sale for dirt cheap all the time.

    • @DanielVerberne
      @DanielVerberne 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Same here. How did you find KCD1 the first time you played it?
I got it maybe a year after it came out and to be honest, it kicked my ass and I found it's learning curve quite intimidating at the time. I knew far less about the game and it's mechanics and foundations and I ended up quitting after dying repeatedly and so easily.
I didn't return to KCD1 for maybe a year and by then the developers had ironed out many bugs and I was prepared to give the game another chance. This time I was armed with much more information about the mechanics of the game and an understanding that Henry himself was essentially a blank vessel and it was our responsibility to 'level this guy up'. Once I realised that, much fell into place.
I'm onto my 3rd playthrough now, playing on Hardcore mode for the first time, having selected the minimum two debuffs to make things more challenging. So far I'm finding the game pretty much just as hard as normal mode, but being without a map means it can be quite challenging to locate yourself and your objective sometimes. Of course, one learns to orient using the position of the Sun before or after midday, so that helps, but still - it's a decent sized game world. Locating things in the forests can be VERY challenging without the map

@@DanielVerberne same here. I'd never heard of it and my friend told me to try it out. I'm normally very stubborn about trying new things (in terms of genres/themes etc.) but I read up on it and tried it out about a year after it came out while the Royal Edition was on sale. I'm glad I did. I loved the feeling of being next to useless at the start as it was pretty refreshing, and as you become better at things, so does Henry. Loved the story, the characters, the world, the depth of the game and how much love Warhorse clearly put into this passion project.
I'm currently on my third playthrough so I can get my final trophy (Merciful) for platinum. 630 hours played in total 🥲

KCD is probably my favorite game ever. Since 2020, I have close to 3,000 hours throughout multiple playthroughs. I love the combat, I love the story, I love the grind to improve both my skills and Henry’s skills. I love the striving for ultimate realism and respect for history.
I’ve never been more excited for a game to drop than I am for KCD 2.
I don’t support many studios nowadays, but I’d support Warhorse for all of my life (unless they stop caring for the gamers).

I've only got 100 hours. I fell in love with the game though.
I would like to do another playthrough but I just played and beat it in November last year. I'm definitely getting kcd2 day one. What would you recommend for a second playthrough? I was considering hardcore mode and not using the save mod. First time I played I 100 percent used the save mod.
But yes I love the game. It's done just as well as red dead 2 in terms of immersion.
Don't get me wrong obviously it's clunky (to be fair I felt like rdr2 also had clunky moments...).
What I mean is that you can tell before rdr was made Rockstar clearly deep dove into American western history. They dove deep into LA 90s culture for San Andreas for example.
Well that's exactly what warhorse did with kcd2. Just a love letter to the middle ages. I would be surprised if every Czech game didn't at least try it.

You personalize your Henry by the weird small and large habits you develop. Do you go out of your way to wipe out your enemies? Do you steal all of the guards’ uniforms to prank them upon reaching a new town? Do you carry an obscene about of cheese around?
Or are you like me and pretend you are a thief who actively eats out of peoples pots after stealing from the (resulting in nearly constant overeating). Or do you occasionally isolate guards who try to fine you to execute them and steal back the 100 currency they fined me despite having over 10k in the bank?

The depth you're talking about regarding item and character stats is actually the foundation of a good RPG. If some people find it too difficult to follow and just can't be bothered learning how to use these systems, they can still find joy and succeed in the game by paying attention to other mechanics like combat, and they can still power through most situations. So the game is not doing some gate keeping in terms of RPG stats numbers or anything. You'll just have a better time and have way more variety if you get into the game and try to understand how everything works.
That's where KCD works and Baldur's Gate doesn't. Trying to play BG3 without getting deeply involved into the numbers and without reading descriptions all the time (especially what combat actions do behind the appealing names) will make for an absolutely miserable experience.

I don’t understand the mentality of those who plan to play this without playing the original… The first isn’t even full price anymore, and although it isn’t necessary to play the first, you’ll learn so much that will carry over… You COULD learn to read in the first game, and a lot of the mechanics he’s describing were in the first game as well. The first was phenomenal, although difficult at times. It doesn’t hold your hand. And I don’t expect the sequel to either.

Honestly I hate to be that guy but I would almost say KCD1 is somewhat necessary to get the actual experience because you quite literally are doing a “rags to riches” narrative adventure, but in the second one you definitely get a much better boost than in the first when your at the rungs since you don’t get a stat boost. Nothing against you, I think you’re all good man, this comment is more for newcomers from the viewing side.

It's fucking astonishing how there is NO ONE who got to play early, who talk about the blood and gore... one of THE most important aspects of combat in ANY realistic looking game, is the blood and gore. Like for example, if you stab an enemy, there should be blood gushing out of the wound, and then landing on the ground.
Basically, in the first game, no matter HOW many times you hit an enemy, there will NEVER be any blood splatter or blood decals that spawn on the environment, during actual combat gameplay, and that fucking sucks. But by the LOOKS of it, we actually have blood during combat now. Doesn't look anywhere near as good as something like Dead Island 2, or Dying Light 1... but at the very least, IT'S THERE in Kingdom Come Deliverance: II.
