I can remember this same outlook in Pennsylvania and Michigan when the factories closed and went to China. Now China knows how it feels when those same factories are going to Vietnam, Thailand and India.

And then they'll know it when they pack up and move somewhere cheaper eventually..
      Capitalism ruins everything it touches.

if workers' wage is dropping sharply, why the rent stays high? It doesn't make sense.

you'd really think that the CCP would have learned from what happened to the Soviets - but they clearly didnt, they keep making the same mistakes.

What empty corner are you filming? I have been in Dongguan and it looks very different from your countryside video.

Honestly thinking that i could employ 100 people at 100-200 usd an hour is mind blowingly cheap

Those who believe this is true and update are just naive. Go and see it by yourselves.
The film shows the vacant buildings are those doing low-tech high-pollution production factories like toys, garment... that already moved out almost 10 years ago. The government has plans to, and is already priceeding the re-development.
See, even this area is like empty at the moment, there is no street-sleepers, no drug addicts hanging around. If there is any the film maker must have focused on them.
Look at your own countries first!!!

This is what happens when theres 2 billon alleged people and the only "successful" companies have state ties. Property prices mean nothing... "Good locations" are because daddy xi says so, not the potential income an area could earn or supply and demand .
