yo, you talk about Hogwarts legacy... but the game is linear, full of woke overrepresentation, white people there are only the badguys/gang members. Your own character cant even be a pale ginger. Love how everyone is saying CDPR is going woke, yet Cyberpunk2077 is woke as heck and they shove it on your face type of woke, and everyone is ignoring that because the game after 2.0 update is awesome as heck. Glassdoor employer reviews for CDPR. Many quit, and they used up most of the Polish dev work force. So they went outside of Poland and ended up with activists from Germany, England, and other parts of Europe.

CDPR has been screwed for a while now. Tons of the OG devs who worked on the Witcher 3 left before and during Cyberpunk's development, which is partly why it was such a mess.

They didn't fix 2077 or finish making 2077, so I didn't drop a cent for the DLC and my review is still negative, so at best I might raise my skull and bones flag, but not even the DLC motivated me so... Future releases even under the skull and bones flag were already not looking good for anything else they make and release, plus the CEO remains dishonest = never a good sign.
CDPR failed making 1 game for over a decade. Now they’re juggling 4+ games at the same time for their shareholders. Expect a dumpster fire regardless of how woke they’ve become.

It was a failure then. First impression matters. If we allow the market to push out garbage only to fix it later then we might us well just give up.
We want games made reasonably quickly, and we want them complete and without bugs. Years ago this was easy to achieve and the hardware was worse, forcing devs to come up with clever solution.

@@foxhunter671 The game only clawed back some sales due to fixing shit in DLC and patches. That however doesn't mean that the studio is in tip top shape like it used to be. They are a shadow of their former selves, with many many developers that have either left or been fired. The Devs that made Witcher 3 great and even Cyberpunk Devs are long gone. They're not the plucky and feisty indie studio they used to be and have instead folded into the corpo mold, ironically. Sales are not the only metric of success and not seeing the context of where the studio is today is why you cannot see beyond the surface. The Studio did die after this, not literally but effectively. You won't get games on the level of the Witcher 3 from them ever again.

Yeah. CDPR has gone in a VERY unfortunate direction. I remember asking for "gay representation" in "The Witcher 3" at that time there weren't many games with gay men in them, and I wanted to see homosexuals NOT REPRESENTED POSITIVELY mind you. Just to show up in some way in the game, and if appropriate in the world in a negative light. They did do this for me. To a degree. There was a guy in the game that told Geralt he's a monster, that he's cursed, and Geralt tried to figure out what this curse is. Then out of frustration with geralt he admits that he's in love with a man. I thought this was funny and satisfying. At the time when I was asking for that sort of thing to be in a game there was a LOT of push back. Mainly because people were worried this would get out of hand, go too far, or simply had no place. There was a good 1/3 of the people who were interested in the concept however.
It is very depressing that the fears of those opposed to the sort of representation I was hoping for were indeed correct. Eventually. They have gone too far now, and not just that, but they have gone too far all over the gaming industry.
Im straight and I like having gay characters of all types and other types of people, but the way they do this with wokeness is dishonest. Instead of just including gay characters, they push them in a way that is forced and makes it seem like it virtuous and special to be gay instead of relatable humans.
Even being straight and white, I used to be able to relate to gay and black characters in movies in games, but now they make them cringy, political, radicalized, and just dishonesty pushed on people.
Thankfully none of my friends who are gay want anything to do with this and they'd be appalled at how these people attack God and decency

Larian aren't any better, they are as "woke" as CDPR, most of the Western studios with a few exceptions are left wing activists and apologists. Larian just gives more options to the players in their games including options they wouldn't' agree with, but they absolutely pushed their identity politics in BG3.

Thankfully Witcher 4 has nothing to do with the story of the characters we loved from the books, as they said "We want to create our own story". Well, go ahead, I will be here replaying Witcher 1,2 and 3.
Technically neither did Witcher 1-3 they all take place post books too. But I think the fact people love those games/stories proves CDPR is an a unique position to add to stories.

I understand that the story for the games were their own things, that's not the issue. If anyone seen the Witcher Mobile game for example, you had an ability to create a female Witcher for example, with different skin colors and put them in any school of Witchers you wanted. That's what I ment, when as we know from the books that the Witcher trial of graces would kill any female children because of how the Witcher Formula worked.
@@GhostAeonWolf It's technically a continuation of the books and it works because CDPR respected and enhanced the existing worldbuilding and characters from the books, they created a fan fiction type of a continuation that still felt true to Sapowski's incredible setting.
@@rpgadventurer32 Yeah, exactly, they respected the lore and world building and did the characters justice. So it is still the characters that people love from the books. (Not that I have personally read much of the books, only 1)
It had a ton of top tier writing and production, directing and adapting the scripts either way. With the expansions too, more so probably. Down to the vocabulary of characters and voice acting, it had a lot of charm and quality.
We need to boycott the Witcher four and make the devs not get a single dollar so they can truly understand that the fanbase hates them and their current actions and ruining one of the best franchises ever created

I played and beat both of the Ori games (beautiful games btw) and Moon Studio just earned a long term customer by making it clear their games are focused on quality and story over forced political narratives. Just saw the recent Ubisoft pandering with AC Shadows... it's getting really tiring, so I love seeing a studio make a stand against the mind virus.

@@EndymionTv Watch Witcher 1 remake - I've already seen articles noting some changes they are planning to make such as censoring the cards you would get when romancing women, etc. It's going to get worse, dude.
CP2077 is the type of setting where you can push all the social agendas and that would mostly make sense in that world. That's why Cyberpunk 2077 works even with the current studio. The Witcher however is mostly based on medieval Poland, medieval Germany and Slavic folklore - it needs to be accurate to Sapowski's books and his worldbuilding or else it won't work. They can't "diversify" it and culturally appropriate it.

CDPR got ruined by soulless greedy suits. That’s why the 2077 launch was botched and why they’ve gone whole hog down the DEI road. I have no expectations for them going forward. However, I have to add that they really turned 2077 into something great in its current generation. Me and my 4090 likey big time.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the resolution to the problem they created. It was misleading on their marketing and pre-launch reviews. Most likely, it was illegal contracts and NDAs as well.

I guess my take is that it’s the suits, not the devs that wanted to force the release to the previous gen consoles even though it was never going to work. The suits drove the deception out of greed. And it was the devs that kept re-working the game for years to get it right. That’s my two cents anyway.

@@GibsMeMunny Well, what I’m specifically talking about is a business decision that get’s made by suits at the top. What platforms to release on and when to release is an executive decision. It’s unrelated to how woke the devs are, and we probably don’t disagree on what you’re calling the “larger issue.” And the hard push to implement DEI is also an executive decision made to gain access to capital. It’s a financial decision, and it’s made at the top of all companies because it seemingly will improve profits. That is… until customers stop buying products.
I learned where this company was going when cyberpunk released.

Cyberpunk when I played it was good but it was not Witcher 3 quality imo.
Cyberpunk wasn't woke, it handled diversity pretty well.

The last game with real magic from CDPR is the blood and wine expansion of the Witcher 3. Now CDPR is a soulless company and all their recent products show it. Being publicly traded really ruins development studios.
I would argue the cyberpunk expansion was really good, but as for CDPR themselves, I don't see them as better than an EA or Ubisoft or anything. To me at this point it's just "another cog in the AAA machine"
