Why are bad people in Hollywood getting to redefine the meaning of “bad guys”?
If you're genuinely asking the question then I'll say it's because the majority of Hollywood are "bad guys" and they know it but don't desire to change themselves to be better because Hollywood culture is perpetuated by evil, by backstabbing and lying to one another to land that next big role or directing gig. They _are_ the bad guys seeking to change our perception of what is evil, it's as Musk said they're obsessed with looking good while doing evil.
Yet they would say Donald Trump is evil immediately. No grey zone there .

i love studying evil. i’ve watched every minute of the Darrell Brooks trial twice. I read Ordinary Men and loved it. i’m completely drawn to understanding evil.
but, i am just trying to understand evil. not celebrate it. not convince people that there is no such thing as evil.
i’m pretty sure the acolyte is trying to explain and normalize evil. show us all that evil is just a societal construct, and nobody is really evil. that’s the post-marxist bullshit. meant to convince people should be resentful and destroy society.

Even more of reason not to watch it. They keep attacking and insulting their potential customers...and then when no one pays to see their movies or watches their TV series, they wonder why. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

Was watching Midnight's Edge in the morning. And they put a clip up where Hensley said that the The main conflict between the two main characters is based off her and her sister and how they don't get along. And to me right there, that's a big red flag of self-insert
What the hell? How do these people keep getting work?
Why is it a "red flag?" Writers use fantasy as allegory for personal experience all the time. Spielberg's movies like "Close Encounters" and "ET" feature representations of his parents. Star Wars was a father-son drama not unlike something Lucas could have experienced. Harry Potter's experience living with the Dersley's isn't unlike JK Rowling's experience living in a shitty flat while dealing with an abusive ex. And those are obvious examples. Just because she's using her personal experience as a basis for the story doesn't mean she has a God complex. You need to read more than just trash buzzfeed articles before you form an opinion.
I can smell Headland’s imposter syndrome through the screen. That’s a woman always on the attack. Sounds exhausting.

I'm already not going to watch The Acolyte and I haven't even bothered watching the trailer for it because it's made by Kathleen Kennedy and Leslye Headland, two women who already hate me as a fan because I'm a male who might criticize the show. Plus I'm not really into the whole 'girl boss' trope anymore because it's done so badly, especially when DEIsney does it these days.

Yeah. Whatever. They told me not to watch. They’ve pushed me away for about a decade now. Their TV shows go nowhere. There’s never a payoff. It’s just content. Eventually they’ll have to realize if they keep attacking fans they won’t have fans. There’s no excitement for the franchise. No one’s buying the new stuff. They’ve driven the IP into the ground. It’s all about them and what it means for them. It’s never about the audience and what will work for them.
Yeah most of the audience already left brother, thats why every movie they have made lost money.

This series is targeted to a very small niche audience, yet at the same time, they're blaming and hating on their previous audience that they no longer want.

One of the only modern film makers that "successfully" used sped up scenes is George Miller of Mad Max fame. I haven't seen Furiosa yet, but I saw both Mad Max & Road Warrior in theaters and it added a visceral feeling of urgency each time you saw a car ramming another car or Max climbing on the rig. Both of those nearly 50-year-old films still holdup and are incredible to see in theaters.
I anticipate this show will try to be Game of Thrones in Star Wars, and fail miserably. Star Wars is over. It's just silly, like Buck Rogers from the 1980s. Headland has her face all over this, she'll be forced to own it when it fails.

Wait, so Dave Filoni thinks Anakin didn't understand he was being evil when killing younglings? I always took it as Anakin succumbed to the dark side because he was so desperate to save Padme he was willing to sell his own soul for hers and their children. I think Anakin is acutely aware he's become evil but he's gone too far, burned too many bridges and hides behind the mask, literal and figurative, of Darth Vader.
By attacking people before it has even come out they have told me everything I need to know. And if they know it's bad, why bother watching it? Thanks for the heads up Lesley.

I don’t understand how you can have this take on Leslye Headland (which I agree with) and yet at the same time invite Script Doctor to co-host the show. Script Doctor defends Headland, thinks she’s totally innocent, and thinks it’s wrong to criticize her. How can you think Headland is evil and at the same time cohost the show with a guy who thinks the opposite?

Speeding up choreographed fight sequences is an old long-used technique employed in many classic shows and movies, even the old Shaw Brothers Kung fu flicks used that technique.

Ahsoka had horrible fighting too. The LightSaber stuff was moronic. They got shot at by blasters and they didn't even move their sabers to intercept the blasts, they "sucked" them up.
