One of the few games that still has a great community even 7 years later. I've been playing this game off and on since it first released way back in early 2015, on playstation. Grinded up all sorts of stuff there then moved to PC when it hit Steam in December of that year. I think what amazes me is how the community has never "died". Dwindled, sure. But the people who are left are people just like me: they just want to help new people discover the game and all the chaos it has, and encourage them to have fun. 90% of the time I fire it up I look for games with new people and just sit back and let them do all the work, occasionally I step in when crap really hits the fan. It's just so cool to me that even after all this time, there's still tons of people who play it who just want to let people experience what this game is truly like. You'd think after all this time, only toxic bittervets would be left. But I have found that they are in a vast minority. In fact they are shunned by the community at large. Idk I feel like that's selling the first Helldivers short I used to play it a lot. Whilst blops arcade only rlly shares the power ups and theme with normal zombies. Helldivers 1 has like every mechanic and actually more (weapons, 3rd faction, stratagems + vehicles) when compared with 2 just from a different camera angle and worse graphics. It's so good because you can just look at Helldivers 1 to see what the upcoming updates will be for 2.
Wow. What a glow up this game had with the sequel. Also it's very clear theres a massive difference between the 2, so the balancing and everything will have to take a different route too.
I've been on this game off and on since 2017 and have been on a kick with it for the past year. Jesus the community is lovely and fun. I so hope that Helldivers 2 is true. We need more democracy.
Wish they'd add the UAV stratagem so that I can see where all samples are lol - might stop other people from feeling like they need to farm missions by closing the game and restarting over and over again in the current game
Looking at this game after helldivers 2 makes me think that the original was just a proof of concept and the second 2 a revision and refinement, lately i can hardly see that from AAA studios. Looking for ways to not improve just to make it accessible to everyone and ironicaly i think thats one of the motos of Arrowhead studio. "Making a game for everyone is making a game for no one" (something like that). Looking forward to the game awards this year and see what kind of conversations can happen after other studios understand that they should focus on making a good product and not just expect blind loyalty from everyone.
This game looks insanely easy compared to Helldivers 2. The Breaker takes out a huge cone of enemies in one shot, the mech can seriously tank shots, the cannon on the mech is super strong. Very different than helldivers 2.
Honestly I wish Gauntlet and Magicka still had the community this game has, they were my jam. Not that I don't love Helldivers, I was just really bad at it.
Crazy what a shift in perspective does, I’ve never been a top down boy aside from Dead Ops Arcade but this looks like a free roam Metal Slug and that just sounds cool.
That was a beautiful dance of a match, I hope I had picked up this game when I saw it back in 2016 or something, and I'm really happy that helldivers 2 is getting all the attention it's getting. The dev team really did an amazing job.
omg this game is fun, i am playing HD2 but i would not mind playing HD1 with my wife, she is not a gamer and a game like this would get her in to gaming easly that a side THE MUSIC is soo on point in this game and the fact that it feels like you are playing with your buddies on a table is soo good, the way the camra forces every one to stay together would feel limiting if not done right but it is done soo perfectly you almost feel like its a camra man trying to keep every one in Frame, they really cared for the game, no wonder HD2 turned out to be a Gem It had a solid foundation to build on

I definitely recommend getting this. I spent all morning playing this, even though it's much more challenging than the 2nd game, it's still really addicting and fun
I would've loved this game if I heard of it back in the day.
I wish I had known of this game back in the day. I loooove twin stick shooters so much. I picked this up and it's so much fun. The music is even better in Helldivers 1 imo. This stage music is amazing.
Since I've only played 2, seeing this is like "Helldivers 2: Mobile" Still looks fun though, might check it out.
Wow, from Helldivers to Helldivers 2 was such a drastic change. Im really glad they've done such a great job!
I’m calling this group of randoms effectively “THE WRECKING CREW”
as a veteran that played this with my dad, i like this game
Watching this video after only having experienced 2, its like a zombies fan playing black ops arcade. Lol
Ayo that analogy worked perfectly for my brain nice
Idk I feel like that's selling the first Helldivers short I used to play it a lot. Whilst blops arcade only rlly shares the power ups and theme with normal zombies. Helldivers 1 has like every mechanic and actually more (weapons, 3rd faction, stratagems + vehicles) when compared with 2 just from a different camera angle and worse graphics.
It's so good because you can just look at Helldivers 1 to see what the upcoming updates will be for 2.
@harryweisner99x fair enough, I was speaking more so visually. Definitely curious to try 1 though, hope they throw it on a sale
what surprises me is 2022 was 2 years ago 😭😭
I’m glad they finally get the success they deserved! Helldivers 1 was such a fun game to play on my vita and ps4 back in the days 👴🏼
HD2 is game of the year material
This game is nothing short of a masterpiece
Guess what
And it's so damn good@@SnorpMan
@@KarlosSonigo it is me and a squad had a blast trying to survive difficulty 5 against automatons shit went down
This is like watching a history documentary
helldivers 2 BGMs are cool but I would like to have some from the 1st game too
Looking at this, it makes a little more sense why HellDivers had capes.
Thi is the best twin stick shooter I have ever played. I love this game, and think it would still stand up well today.
Wish they'd add the UAV stratagem so that I can see where all samples are lol - might stop other people from feeling like they need to farm missions by closing the game and restarting over and over again in the current game
i cant believe i never played this game
Helldivers 2 is the epitome of a sequel. Not some rehashed crap year after year (mhmm CoD) but a complete new way to experience the original.
helldivers' music goes harder than helldivers 2's music
Magicka 3 when
Crazy what a shift in perspective does, I’ve never been a top down boy aside from Dead Ops Arcade but this looks like a free roam Metal Slug and that just sounds cool.
randomly thought about this game today and I'm glad to see it's still alive and well
I like how loud the breaker is and how much it resembles the sound of a real gunshot. I wish the guns in HD2 were louder.
I wish I knew this game existed
That was a beautiful dance of a match, I hope I had picked up this game when I saw it back in 2016 or something, and I'm really happy that helldivers 2 is getting all the attention it's getting. The dev team really did an amazing job.
even here breaker is the meta lol
omg this game is fun, i am playing HD2 but i would not mind playing HD1 with my wife, she is not a gamer and a game like this would get her in to gaming easly
that a side THE MUSIC is soo on point in this game and the fact that it feels like you are playing with your buddies on a table is soo good, the way the camra forces every one to stay together would feel limiting if not done right but it is done soo perfectly you almost feel like its a camra man trying to keep every one in Frame, they really cared for the game, no wonder HD2 turned out to be a Gem It had a solid foundation to build on
Looking at this top down og helldivers gameplay makes me think the developers should've known the masses would love a 3rd person shooter ngl
I used to play when I was 5 with my dad and grandpa, it was my favorite game and now I finally found it
Thank you for your service
Damn!!! Helldivers 2 is such a huge upgrade, thts how u make a sequel
Imagine helldivers 3 we play as the Orbital ships controlling platoons of Helldivers! Bro...
4:22 That bot in the bottom left corner was not ready.
A Twin Stick Tactical Challenging shooter with Mitary elements and scifi mixed into one package.
Game is Always here for me.
Holyshit, Helldivers 1 ‘s music sounds amazing
Well seems all the weapons arent shit, no nerfs incoming. Time to switch to Helldivers 1 while the Devs insist on riding Helldivers 2 into the shitter.
underated game for sure. Been playing ever since 2017 and still ongoing. not a lot of content creators feature this incredible game so im a bit sad abt that. Nonetheless, if anyone wants adrenaline gushing in their veins every now and then, this is the game for u. not saying this is the only best but one of the top
And the soundtrack slapped as hard back in the day.
IS this one the Steam Sale right now....asking for a friend...
I think it is right now but it might be over
Salute to Helldivers 1. Because without it, we wouldn't have gotten Helldivers 2.
we need that mech suit in helldivers 2 lol
Helldivers walked so Helldivers 2 could run. I salute the service of all the veterans of the First Galactic War who preserved Super Earth so that we could spread Managed Democracy now.
guns sound better in this than helldivers 2
i was in this war. i first enlisted in 2016, when I was a 6 year old. i LOVED this game unlike any other. it was just so fun to cause chaos and burn away bugs with my only friend that I had at the time. And now the Terminids, the Automotons, have decided to fuck around with us again. It was like a dream come true to hear arrowhead even MENTION the term "Helldivers 2", and I went crazy when I heard the game was getting a sequel. And it made me the most happy that I have been in months that the game was getting so much attention. it was like a fallen gem finally climbing off the ground. i don't care that all of these Political problems or balancing issues are here, the game is everything I could have imagined. I am loyal to super earth, and forever will be, regardless of what the public thinks of it 😇😇
top down is 100x better than 3rd person. change my mind
it feels like the weapon 100 years ago are more powerful
