Dude, there used to be a car painted by your father in my parents neighborhood in rural CA. It was a '49 ford painted mate rust red AND with a hand painted scene on the metal dash done by Von Dutch of a Hispanic man and his burro reacting to a nuclear explosion in the distance. The owner died of cancer, probably like the man and his burro, and the car went to one of his children.
I confess my ignorance on being someone who likes old classic hot rods of this age [Model A] but not understanding something simple for to those that build these: Why do they not install a FORD engine in this FORD Model A? Why the Chevrolet engine instead of a FORD engine? Perhaps a 289 cui. or, a 351 cui.?
April fools, right? Right? It's not the 1970's, why is there a SBC going into a nice Ford Model A? I'd be happier if there was a Kubota diesel going into it at this point.
I can't belief Foose would put a Chevy in that a old Ford!! Ford people Don't put a Ford engine in a Chevy hot rods. could go with old school V8 to a 302(331 or 347) 351(408)W, 351C or a Coyote! Personal, I'd Have to put the Grandfather of V8's, the Ford flat head with a set Edlebrock heads & a edlebrock or offenhauser intake on it. agree to disagree.
With that Chevy engine I’m sure it will be too much horsepower, maybe you should have put a Ford engine in it rather than risking frame and drivetrain damage with the Chevy
Like to see a longer video. Big fan of Chip maybe get to know chip little better go for a drive or go get a cup of coffee. I think this could be a very big Channel.Hope you are doing well again a big Fan love your work and you alway seam like a great guy.
why but why put a junk chevy engine in it?cmon chip i thought you were better then that!!you do all that work doing a car from scratch and and you could put least a flathead back in it!!!
I sometimes think Chevy people don't Remeber that Ford came out with the V8 before chevy! Ford Engines have Won Race's for Year's, just like Chevy & Mopar's.
@@VernLeRoy1962 You are wrong. GM had the Viking and Oakland . They were the first cars with a mono cast V8 block in 1929. They were higher end cars . Ford didn't show up until 1932 . Cheverlet was absorbed by GM in 1917 and they produced the first V8 engines. They were two OHV, four cylinders bolted together.
Ford had a decent body back in the day so people put a great motor back in them a small block chevy will always get you home so much cheaper to build to get some hp than a ford.
I have a karmam gire body a 928 porsche 5 speed with a v12 motor from a 1990 bmw think you could but it all together plus mod the hell out of the body have drawing plus $$$$$
Nice project. I am collecting parts for a very early thirties similar project planned to be painted in 79 F150 metallic blue. I have Ford 300 inline six with an aftermarket turbo project engine almost ready that came out a generator used in a welding truck from the early 1970's.
So much drama from the Peanut Gallery! Nice hot rod Chip! Also I could not take my eyes off the car on the lift behind the Model A. Please show more of THAT too!
MR CHIP FOOSE! WOULD YOU CONSIDER PUTTING ON SOME ( BADDD CHADDD ) CHROME ON THE BUMPERS! FROM THE CRAZIEST CAR CHANNEL ON TH-cam, ALL THE WAY FROM ( NOVA SCOTIA ) CALLS HIM SELF A PROFESSIONAL!
Call Me Crazy But I Would Love To Have Just a Nice Stock Model A To Chiggity Chig Down The Street For Coffee and a Donut Or Two With The Wife and Kids!😁👍💯
Now wait a minute, You're gonna "put the motor in the engine compartment"?.......So, it's going electric or what? Did you ever "put an engine in the motor compartment"?
It seems funny to me that you Ford guys after getting a Chevy HEI distributor sing the praises of the bowtie. To me it makes no difference. Admit it though Fords are more finicky. Just saying.
Goose got fame as a customs zer. But is really just a bolt on graphics designer. Turns out some cool stuff. But he shouldn’t get the sole credit for the build. He farms out alot more then he actually does himself or in house at his shop..
it came with the truck and chevy parts are cheap,so he is not going to put high dollers into a good ford engine, when he got the junky chevy for free.js
Chip I’m very pleased to see you still building cars.
What a beautiful Truck! Always enjoyable seeing Chip in action!
Note To: Chip, FORD IN FORD, Always fits Better, Sounds Better and Runs Better! Please call The Cat in the Hat for your next FORD project. Cheers!
They say Chip has retired! Someone like this that has eaten breathed all this stuff. Will never ever retire until there last breath.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

I agree with everyone else that it's great to see Chip still building cars!

They've been doing that combo for at least seventy years!
Its the easy way out
Yes the hot start king of motors . Left me on road more that once
Drop a Ford in a antique Ford and drop the music from the video
Yes, annoying music.

It would be fun to work with great parts, smooth floor, clean shop, all the best stuff (forklift) I am envious!
Lets hear / see more on the DeSoto on the hoist
There should not be one negative comment on this video. The man is THE MAN period.

Why do you have a Chevy engine in a Ford truck ?
Agree
You are the number one
Quite common to put a Chevy engine in a Ford street rod. Insee that a lot. I've been told it has to do with the physical size of the block and heads.
It’s sad that he’s dropping a Chevy motor into a Ford
If you are putting the motor back in that you pulled out, why are there some folks whining about it? Great job Chip, what a hoot!!
Chip , you need to invest in a hydraulic lift!!!!✌🏽😎
The 6 hour lightbulb. LOL.

Foose !
The Great Car builder knows that the Small block Chevy is the Greatest Engines !
This is why everyone knows the name Chip Foose.

It works if you like Shevy things, I guess.

You know back in the day it was common practice to drop Chevy and especially Chrysler Hemi engines into all types of Hot Rods. So this is Old School.❤
Dude WTH
I would never put a GM in a ford at least chads fab put a ford motor in his Chevy lol
That's because people are cheap, so they put the Chevy in a for ,and when your trying to explain something get rid of the music!!
👍
