    Is that Grip-Rite underlayment just as good as the ram board? Would you recommend one using on an entire home when spraying oil primer on entire interior?

    • @okeefepainting1023

      I think its just as good although it doesnt have as much cushion as a ram board. So if you drop a hammer on a wood floor it might show damage with grip rite

    couple things, how would you back roll slant raise on cabinet doors? instead of bondo on scratches and non deep imperfections use Icing same concept as bondo but drys faster and sticks better and feathers out better, also look into a kremlin spray system its what a pro finishing shop would use, much finer finish. thanks

    • @okeefepainting1023
      @okeefepainting1023  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For raised panel cabinet doors we use the butt end of the roller, works great. Ill have to try out the icing, we've tried at least 10 fillers for cabinets and we always come back to bondo. As far as the sprayer goes, we love our ed655 and the finish it produces. The kremlin is a great setup but with 4 crews spraying a set of cabinets every week we needed a piece of equipment that's easy to operate and didnt break the bank if someone didnt clean it out correctly. If I was spraying cabinets on my own a kremlin would probably be my choice.

    Do you think you both could have gotten the job done in the same amount of time or maybe even less, by just doing it by hand? I only ask cause I’m a one man show and have done plenty of kitchen cabinets, projects this size and bigger and couldn’t imagine getting all that prepped by myself. And maybe that’s it, not having help. I totally spray faces but do so at my home. How long did this job take you to complete?

  • @bardinkurtis
    @bardinkurtis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would you say sanding after primer is required to help paint stick? Or is sanding after primer to get rid of imperfections? Or would you say both are equally important?

    • @okeefepainting1023
      @okeefepainting1023  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Id say both are equally important but less so for bond. Primer is easier to sand than top coats so better to work into a glass like finish early on.

      @@okeefepainting1023 I screwed up big time and now I have runs everywhere. Sucks because it started out looking so good. Then literally as I sat there after I was done spraying I could see more and more runs appearing. This is not a easy task.

      @@okeefepainting1023 the sides of the bases were MDF Board. What is your process when prepping for paint when dealing with MDF Board. And do you use a different paint or primer with MDF. I ask because I got a texture after spraying and it was only on the sides of the bases where that crap board was.

    A pro would have used a conventional system , not a airles sprayer . a pro wouldn't have the airles sprayer in the same room that he's spraying in. a pro wouldn't use plastic to mask the cabinet's as any additional coats of paint will cause the dried paint to flake off the plastic and land on the wet paint because of the lack of pressure controle frome using a airles.

    • @Skabanis
      @Skabanis หลายเดือนก่อน
