@@aarontm507 I've been a singer and soundman most of my life as well as a touring drummer. It is true that singers pull back off the mic when singing harder and louder however in Mike Reno's case, he does it because he's missing those high notes and falls flat on those notes often. . He knows he's not confident that he can always hit that note so he pulls off the mic so it's not so noticeable that he can't hit the note. It's obvious what he's doing. I'm not going to fault him for it, the guy is almost 70 yrs old. He's not going to hit those super high notes anymore like he did when he was a kid, so he pulls off the mic to hide that fact. Mike can't sing like he could in his prime, not many guys can..... He was damn good. Very unique voice. Great range.
I've not yet met members of the Loverboy group. But, since I first started watching Mtv discovering cruising and women...rocking the stage is where it's at. P S I love playing my keyboards and guitars when I can. Live for the inspiration and keep rockin'!
The bassist isn't the original guy (original bassist did get back with them initially, but he died in what i believe was a boating accident a few years ago), but yes, they still bring it pretty well. Cool to hear these songs played live again.
at 37:40 unfortunately, Mike is getting a lot of help electronically. he is no way hitting that high note on his own :( But then again how could he!? They have been playing for 40+ years! :) The crowd likes it though! and this way they can still play the song. :)
Was a moderate fan back in the day. They were around my area recently and honestly happy I didn't go, just sad to watch to be honest. That poor dude is going to be dead in 5-10 years at most, hope he gets some help and lives a full life

They have some vocal tracks piped in for the sound man to float in and out during the high parts that Mike can no longer sing.
