@@kpax45 I’ll have to look into that; at one point the Canucks actually hired their own play by play and colour team and it was Shorthouse and Garrett. Those two were employed by them and designated to call the games when on radio. Now that they’re also on TV will have to check it out.
It's hard to make trades when you have a salary cap that most teams are right up against and you don't have a lot of picks and prospects to spare. All you can do is make a hockey trade, and that doesn't necessarily help the team. If the Canucks were to start a rebuild, fans would probably mutiny, so we're right back where we started with Benning. Fans want a contender yesterday, so they lose it when the team isn't winning, so the GM makes trades to improve the team now at the expense of the future, and round and round the cycle goes.
How does re-signing Boeser and Miller help long term, Oh there's no value for them, so if no other team wants them why are we re-signing them. So stupid.

It is hard to make trades when they have players with bad contracts that no other team wants to take on. Top example is Boeser!
