@@timmanto1022 Yes. The problem that all Sens fans know too well: Melnyk vastly overestimates how clever he is. He likes Dorion because he can get his way and have the final say. A real hockey man like Sexton would never submit to that kind of an arrangement. In the finest organizations such as Tampa everything is aligned how it should be: Owners own, Managers manager, Coaches coach and Players play. In Ottawa you have a goofball trying to do the first two and getting dunked on by smarter hockey minds.

The Canucks aren't fast though. They've moved the puck around better since Boudreau, which creates more offensive opportunities.
Have to give credit to the Canucks owner for aggressively going after Rutherford & Boudreau. The owner wants to win and isn’t being cheap whatsoever.

Jim Rutherford will build a winning culture in Vancouver. Although its simple to say he had it easy in Pittsburgh with Sid and Malkin, but Crosby and Malkin waited 7 years after their 1st Cup in 2009 to win their second and first under Rutherford. Ray Shero and Dan Bylsma could not capitalize after the 2009 win, Extra Brownie points to Rutherford for the first back to back Stanley Cup Winner in the salary cap era.
Ik his last couple of years in Pittsburgh werent great, but his comments here and his press conference are encouraging as to what team he wants to build

He traded draft picks and prospects to keep 3rd and 4th line strong. Oh and matt murray decided to play goalie for 2 years. He’s now a bench sitter in ottawa

I had stopped following the Canucks. I no longer enjoyed watching their games, and from where I sat, they didn't appear to enjoy playing them. Benning was at the perpetual shoulder shrug stage, and Green seemed to have run up the white flag of surrender. Then Clean Sweep day. It's been just four games, the team isn't perfect, but Boudreau seems to have given them heart. I am so glad for them.

Rutherford is a genuine legend. Canucks are lucky to have him.
Used to like this show... But never realized how much of a lap dog Tim is to his handlers at Sportsnet.

Rutherford's got a great resume and what the Canucks need. He'll truly evaluate that team and having Boudreau as coach might be even a better move.

Just what we needed - a couple of Grandpas. We had dad-types before, but we needed grandpas who could come in and stabilize the team, settle everyone down and let the players know that everything will be all right. Grandpa Jim and Grandpa Bruce have got this. It's not a long term solution, but having grandparents isn't either.
Sorry didnt know you wanted preteens and kids to run the team. That Grandpa has more cups than most teams in the league and has connections and hockey knowledge. You want to hire some newbie like Benning or a dweeb like Dubas? They hired people that have experience winning cups, we dont need another Chayka with BS analytics which left Arizona looking like an ECHL team.

@@dl3472 take the best actual goalie in the league and put them on the worst team in the league and their stats will plummet. The game is played on the ice, not on paper. Canucks give up higher quality scoring chances. Not all "shots" on the stat sheet are equal. Most of the networks and publications consider him a top goalie for this reason. He's generally considered top 5 or for sure top 10
Canucks have fostered him and brought him up through the farm system and saw his potential as #1 goalie, he is fulfilling this role and becoming a franchise goalie. Jacob who??
