For anyone on the fence about this transformer: I realize this is a very positive review but I just wanted to add my 2 cents. I have about 300 transformers (about 12 alternator and 5 alternity) and this is one of my favorite transformers I own period. My wife happened to bring him back from Japan for 30 bucks - I probably never would have bought him otherwise. He is a perfect homage to G1 and just drips with quality. He is totally worth the $50 price tag he commands. What a wonderful suprise.
just bought myself the Bumblebee years after seeing this video, re-watching it now makes me want the Cliffjumper even more, didn't realise he had a a different head and that red paint is just fire
I love this figure, even for his $50 cost, but he is quite a pain to lock into place during the robot-to-car transformation. There are much wider gaps in his car mode now after a single transformation and back than there were when he was fresh out of the box.
After I did it a couple of times I made them sign an agreement of concession to that particular point. (That stuntman look-a-like was so worth the $50!)
I was a bit surprised by how small these are, too. I ordered a Red Alternity Prime a month back and was expecting it to be closer to Alternator size. It's a bit shocking to actually see that they're closer to Deluxe size.
Y'know with Masterpiece Sideswipe recently released, Alternity Cliffjumper & Bumblebee actually scales quite well with Sideswipe! That is a reason why people should get these 2 Alternity figures especially who knows if we will ever see a Volkswagon licenced Bug Transformer, although I am not quite sure what type of vehicle the original G1 Cliffjumper was and whether or not if that was a Volkswagon vehicle?
Hi Vangelus, could you maybe do a reverse transformation video from robot mode to vehicle mode? I'm having trouble fitting the front wheel section back into the car :(

If i can withstand the withering onslaught of your boundless enthusiasm, then i feel that i have the strength to continue...to not buy overly expensive toys that while intriguing, hold only a cursory interrest to me.....engineering porn ftw...

That paint is gorgeous, but I still think it looks ugly as sin. I'm surprised how reviewers are nice to this mold which is incredibly expensive and doesn't really look any good in robot mod. But oh well, glad you enjoy it, not wasted money if you do :)

Pretty sure Jazz ended up with a waist swivel, dunno if he's the same line as I think there's 2 lines with the weird alternate modes.
I have yet to get this beast of a transformer. i only have 1 figure from the Alternity but so far i am loving it.
