@@briannabania9131 In 1971 Chuck Hughes died of a heart attack on the field.There have been others.The average NFL player lives to be 59 with heart disease being the number 1 killer.But your probably one of those naive people who think they are healthy.And I wouldn't call this guy famous.Aaron Roger's is famous.The NFL and networks want to pretend it cares about people when it doesn't. Just like players want to pretend they care about charities.
I'm a person more often found in the pep band than anything. My skills and interests are more about trumpets and treble clefs than touchdowns. But to see Damar's teammates and fans gather to lift him up in his time of trouble -- especially as he's not at an age where you'd expect cardiac events to happen -- that support is very uplifting to see in a sport that is, tbh, not my favorite. If I watch sports, it's usually of the Olympic variety. But this is indeed more than just football. More than just sports.
To see anyone younger than 50-smthg go down in this way rips at us all in many ways. May Damar make as speedy a recovery as possible, but here's also hoping he takes care of himself. Something in my gut says it's not his time yet. But he's got to take care of himself. And may we all take a similar lesson. 🙏🙏🙏

Great coverage. The most striking part was the last bit about self care. Coley Harvey being vulnerable and really talking about himself needing support. This is such an empathetic moment in time.

As a fan of the game, but especially a Buffalo Bills lifelong fan I’m heartbroken. I’ve been praying for Damar since he collapsed. It is beautiful to see so many coming together, I’m beyond moved. I would gladly have taken a loss to Cincinnati to avoid Damar suffering this. Prayers to Damar, his family, Bills organization and all fans. Thank you for continued updates.

You could tell he was on the verge of tears at the end. I hope all these players are okay and praying for damar Hamlin. Hope he can make a speedy recovery because I seen he had to be resuscitated twice.
Such a sad situation. This kid grew up poor in a rough section outside Pittsburgh. He's also undersized at only 6' tall and 185 pounds. He was only a 6th round draft pick, not expected to get much playing time in the NFL. But he made the roster last year as a special teams player, and this year when injuries happened, he got elevated to being a starter, and was doing GREAT as the team's 2nd leading tackler. Really overperforming all expectations, and likely securing his place for a long NFL career with his play this year. I hope not only his charity receives money. I also hope if he pulls through this, he's taken care of by the NFL to have the financially secure future he was en route to earning when this happened. What a shame.

Prayers for him and his family and he is a fighter it was terrible with being over 10 minutes and it scary me. I never experience with this and I was crying very hard. I couldn’t believe this happened on field and at the hospital and good thing they brought back to life and he lucky man and he is a fighter and I believe in him. Hopefully get some good news. I thought he died and I was like no no and good thing they were there in time to do the CPR and save his life of coming back. I was there at the game because I knew it would be interesting just until the 5:58 in the First Quarter. I have no seen this in my life and it was new experience. I was waiting for some news nothing yet that good but the breathing and understand why Stefon Diggs said that because it obviously his teammate.

I wonder why Hamlin requires the prayers of everyone apparently, when there are far, far, far fewer prayers from the thousands of children that die every day from plain old poverty, or diarrhea usually from tainted water, and all the other causes. All of those nameless children. This isn’t an either / or argument, rather it is an argument about how bizarre we are when it comes to recognizing human suffering. My sister had to re resuscitated three times and they put a breathing tube in her throat and put her in a coma. I wish they had let her go because she was braindead from the beginning. Unfortunately I believe this young man is too. 😞

I’m getting that impression too especially since he was an athlete. 10 minutes doing CPR is a long time. The hospital he is in is the hospital you will want to go to if you have a traumatic event. My thoughts are with him.
And my dad (at 76 yrs old) had to be resuscitated 3 times over a 24 hr period in the ICU after complications from vascular surgery (and survived). He wasn't fu^#ing brain dead. Every case is different. This man is young and in prime physical condition. Emergency staff were on it within a minute of his collapse. Have faith... the man will pull through.

At this point every sport player basketball,football,soccer,baseball,boxing needs to see a doctor at least once a week. I’m not talking about the “Sport doctor “ where they just pay them to say okay or give them a shot to numb the pain and get back to work. No a real doctor to check heart,brain and more.
