When this happened, I honestly think that everyone forgot about the game and just prayed for Damar Hamlin. The game didn't matter anymore. A young man's life is what mattered to everyone. I am just so glad that the medical crew took such swift action and kept his heart beating. I am thankful that he lived and I am also thankful that he is able to lead his normal life.

You use the words:"God bless". I wish that people would acknowledge God even more than what they do.
Long story short:I came across footage, of a Man who had a Heart Attack, and died... right in a Church! However, there was a Medical Team in that Church, that did CPR and all, and God worked and moved, and raised him from the dead! The Pastor, a Brother E. Dewey Smith, said this:"The Medical Team can work on him...but only God can give Breath"! He was, of course, referring to the Breath of Life. Only God can give THAT!
The Man recovered, and apparently went on to live his life.

Who cares, this happens all the time, we need to fix this issue, which is done by all eating a whole foods, plant based diet, create a natural, non toxic environment, in nature, in our cities, and in all our products, as well as exercise more, it’s so easy, but greed for money is the problem as always. Also, we have 8 billion people, and only 1 planet. If people cared as much about the planet that they do their friends, family, or this guy, our climate wouldn’t be getting worse and worse all the time. We only have 1 planet, but we could easily lose 7.5+ billion people, and our species would be fine, especially if only the strongest and smartest were left, and the planet would also benefit from this. Just the objective truth.

Back in December, I got incredibly ill, septic shock due to complications from a kidney stone. I nearly died. I was in the ICU for a solid month. While I was there, who would be rushed into the room next to mine? Damar Hamlin. The players from both teams that came to see him and wish him a speedy recovery were some of the greatest people in the world. They treated my wife so well, as if she were a lifelong friend. While I lay in bed, and my wife was unsure if I'd ever wake up again, these beautiful human beings who's friend was also in a very serious situation, embraced her and offered her support and compassion. It's something I will never be able to repay, and something I think about on a daily basis. I am a lifelong Bengals diehard, but I also now love the Buffalo Bills for their tremendous people.

Side note, but this event (more so the aftermath) had also been an incredible push for our profession of athletic training. To be able to show people what we are capable of and how important it is to have athletic trainers - and to also see the support from Damar and the NFL for athletic trainers - has been so so huge and meaningful. This is often a worst nightmare for us and we never wish this on any of our athletes/patience, but its so rewarding to see such an amazing outcome - for both Damar and the awareness surrounding the profession!

I’m a Bengals fan in Cincinnati. I remember watching the Week 17 game live on TV with my family. Damar Hamlin’s collapse was the most horrifying thing I’ve seen in 23 years of watching football. I’m glad they decided to cancel the game, because I didn’t want to see the game continue and doubt the players and coaches wanted to continue playing after witnessing that. I felt horrible about it and terrible for the Bills fans in attendance. I’m glad none of the Bengals fans in the stadium decided to be jackasses about the situation.
After the game, downtown Cincinnati was full of support for the Bills. Multiple buildings were lit up red and blue. There were signs with the number 3 hanging in windows. I think there may have even been electronic billboard messages supporting Damar.
I’m so glad he covered and I hope he stays healthy. Hopefully he has a great career and does a lot of good with the $9 million his GoFundMe raised. And I hope to God I never see what happened to Damar ever happen again.

i was there as well. i shook every Bills fan hand i saw that night. i also work for UC hospital. when i saw that ambulance come on the field, i knew this was life threatening. like all the others in the stands, i stood there in stunned silence wondering what life threatening situation had befallen Damar. such a scary night, but there was beauty in it. the fans came together and soothed one another. Who Dey Nation and Bills Mafia, brothers and sisters for life

Hey, Bengals fan here. We've been kinda brother fanbases since that Bengals/Ravens game. Respect to y'all. Play hard in the playoffs but after the game is over, nothing but love. We know what it's like to get so close but not win it too over here. Freaking hurts, and we are solid fanbases.

As a bills fan, I watched this game live and I remember tearing up watching Allen and Diggs crying and same with all the other team while they made a circle around him. I am so god damn grateful for Buffalo General and UC Medical, for their help. God bless all of you. I remember when my grandfather was in Buffalo General, shortly before his passing. They were great. I really appreciate all of you and all the staff everywhere. Love you Damar. #3

Watching this live was so scary. It just kept going between commercial breaks and every time it cut back to the broadcast there was still no news. I wasn't so worried at first, thought it could have been concussion because he looked wobbly when he got up, but the minutes just kept going by. It was so surreal going into the game just worried about the bye and one hour later wondering if our safety was alive

I can’t imagine what that moment feels like for both men involved- obviously we know how terrifying and stressful and traumatic it is for Damar but I also imagine it was rough for Tee too.
