Thanks for this Matt. Meguiars product line has always been a daunting myriad of products to understand where they all stand. These videos are exactly what I have been waiting for someone to do. Thank you for making this typically exclusive information public.
Omg hi I am from Australia Sydney and was so glued to the screen watching the series, I have so many of your products but I saw so many we dont have here in Australia and its so sad to see in the USA you can buy your products for $12 - $15 over here down under Sydney Australia I pay at least $80 for your Ultimate Liquid Wax and your Ceramic Wax that came out about a month ago was $49 your smallest microfiber towel if your can find them are $39 so it's a very premium brand. I still have my very first Meguiar's products I bought years back G12024 or 30810155 HotShine Tire Spray, the complete oily clear solution you can spray lol. I hope one day to travel back to the USA and visit your HQ I would just kneel at the front doors and do my cross lol. Thank you again for the fantastic info. Also I have been fighting these idiots saying the New Ceramic Wax is fake and doesn't work etc but I clearly make them look stupid and remind them to read the label the title clearly stats Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic WAX its a wax fool not a ceramic coating so treat like a wax and then they shut up, because they read ceramic and automatically think it's a ceramic coating only, and once i remind them what it is suddenly the product works again. End of the day don't care what's in it the product works and does its job
Markus no need to apologize need audio is good quality, also your very knowledgeable thanks for your insight on this industry I just started out detailing business this products are amazing
Great series Matt, I have been using that Interior Quick Detailer for years and I really like it... It has a little scent on application but it disappears in a short period of time, it doesn't seem to leave a foggy residue on the windows if the car is in the heat or over time. It really cleans and doesn't leave any film behind... I use it on the dash, door trim, and door jam panels on my SUV... The only thing I don't use it on is my leather, I have a premium leather cleaner/ conditioner for that...
I live in Minnesota and this winter used Meg's D115 Rinsefree Wash and Wax as my primary way to clean my vehicles (in a heated garage with no drain). It is GREAT! Cleans the paint well, leaves a high gloss shine, and the slickness was amazing. I am sold!
24:22 The Detailer Xpress Spray Wax is THE SAME at Ultimate Spray Wax. That's a good nugget of info considering the pricing on Detailer line per OZ is a bit less than Ultimate Spray Wax per OZ.
I love meguiars products .. with their apc, super degreaser, non acid wheel cleaner, hyper dressing, shampoo plus, hybrid ceramic wax and synthetic xpress spray wax you can virtually cover all grounds
Hyper Dressing at 3:1 or 4:1 does well with six ounces of Silicone Free per 122oz of RTU Hyper Dressing, increases longevity just enough. Duplicolor Grease and Wax remover as a drying aid pre-polishing, works great and has nice lubricity. QID leaves a zero shine finish on pretty clean surfaces, on a dirty surface the product does start to get shinny as the underlying surface is already shinny to a degree. On well maintained vehicles QID is a winner. Xtra Cut disc is ridiculous, a lot of cut but also temps run warmer with it.
Pretty cool to just sit & learn about all the product lines. The highlights of different products, their original design purposes, & how they all work/relate to each other. I don’t think we’ve even had this comprehensive of an overview of Meguiar’s with all of Larry’s videos
When I talked to Nick about what to review, I asked that we dig into the massive product lines. Mirror Glaze and the Detailer lines are pretty darn extensive. The information aids me in the ever evolving process that I use to wash my own cars. I find trainings like this right from the people that are on the front lines making and developing the products extremely interesting.
After watching this I'm actually torn. Megs is obviously heading in the right direction. Introducing/testing stuff constantly. Their products may even be the best...my problem is they have 3-7 car wash soaps...wheel cleaners...spray waxes...apc's... yadayada. I get the money part but it's a bit too gimmicky for me. Guess that's where Matt comes in...
I gotta say.....this video (and other similar BTS brand vids) is an incredible service you are providing here. Meguires “owes ya one” for getting so much detail about their massive product line out to such a huge, engaged audience. I will definitely be picking up a couple of their items from you once you vet them and decide to stock them.
I am sure having been acquired by 3M eleven years ago helped with product development (capital and know-how), they have introduced a fairly large number of new products in the last decade. Looking forward to Episode 3.
This kind of reminds me of when ron swanson goes to get materials at the store and the worker asks if he needs help and ron says ‘I know more than you’ and walks off.
Matt, I have used D181 extensively as it's my main go-to leather product. I will say for sure you need to be careful with it as it can pull dye out of certain interiors. It's a pretty strong cleaner so for older cars, convertibles that get a lot of sun on the leather etc. you may be better off with the D180 or a less intensive cleaner like 10:1 D101.
3 years later, how do you feel about their Hyper Wash? Is it still a good everyday shampoo? Or are there better products out there? Also how do you feel about the Hyper Wash vs Shampoo Plus debate? I personally like my shampoos to only be shampoos, I don't like products that also add protection, or wax, or anything that's left over after a wash. I just picked up the Hyper Wash for $29.99 for a gallon. But now am wondering how good it really is, and maybe I should just return it and pick up something else. It all depends on how this performs at actually cleaning the car. If there's a better quality, more premium product, I'd like to try it. I generally use a foam cannon for the initial touchless foam and spray down, then continue with a 2 bucket wash. I also don't mind using two differebt products for the two stages, 1 for foam cannon, 1 for bucket. I can buy anything, and I'm always chasing "the best of" in any particular category. Price is not as important, though is a consideration for judging value (for instance when it comes to ceramic coatings, I think there's plenty of great coatings without needing to pay $400-500+ for a 30ml bottle).
@@ObsessedGarage thanks! I'll definitely buy this to try it out, I keep hearing great things about it. I'm just curious, have you tried any of the Bilt Hamber line of products, in this case either their Foam Wash, or the Touchless Wash, or their Auto Shampoo (this last one is a 2000:1, non-foam cannon shampoo)? Also have you tried the 007 Snow Storm from Auto Fanatic. Just curious if you have, and what your thoughts are on those products. Thanks!
Great presentation. Meguiar's have the most reliable line of products on the market. It is pretty much impossible to find a bad product from them. They are always in the top tier of products but usually are much less expensive than the boutique brands. When it comes to interior, they are hard to beat, their products works flawlessly and are sold at rock bottom prices. The only issue I have with Meguiar's is that they are not available in Canada. Shipping from the USA cost an arm and a leg so often I have to order something else locally unless I am placing a very large order that can mitigate some of the shipping costs. If I was in the USA, I would probably use 80% of their products in my arsenal. Only thing they need to get on the market is a paint coating. I am not sure what is taking them so long, every other manufacturer has one now. Maybe they are trying to match quality with Optimum at a lower price point, not sure.
Olde Town Auto Spa has free shipping for orders over $150 and if you're in Ontario, the shipping isn't bad on smaller orders either. They carry a bunch of Meguiar's stuff.
@@CanadianGearhead Thanks. Unfortunatelly the owner is on my black list for insulting me on a public forum. Anyway they don't carry much, about a 10th of the Meguiar's line and none of the products I need. I talked to the owner of one of the shops I do business with and he tells me it's complicated to import Meguiar's products for some reason. I don't understand why, CarPro, Geyon and other good products make it here no problem :(
@@henrycollins2478 That was years ago, can't remember exactly what he said. I was complaining on the forum that Canadian Detailing Stores never had stock on anything, backorder was the operative word for at least half the products. He pretty much to me to fuck off. Great way to loose a customer.
Just didn't have enough demand for it to justify keeping it, unfortunately. Waterless washing has really grown in years since, so we are always open to revisiting things if the demand is there.

Was Hoover conducting a class in the same room? Lol. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Loving the content as always!
Gold class works great in a foam cannon. However you have to use 4oz to 32oz with hot water to dilute it properly. But it works.
Whaaaaa? I see OG and Meguiars... I click...

What were the two interior products that were gone over, and which one was the “if you don’t know the stain, start with this one”?

Anyone try one of the APC's for vinyl siding on home?
Hah, yes, I use this for the white vinyl around windows and my sliding doors, it works great for the dirt that builds up.
Its great as a household cleaner at 10:1.
