I have been using the Dyson Airwrap for a couple of years now and I am so excited about their new longer barrels. Today I will be comparing them with the original barrels to see if they style my hair faster, are easier to use, and if the curls look better and last longer. I will style each half of my head using the short barrels on one side and the long barrels on the other side. I usually stick to the 40mm barrels for my length of hair.
My hair is very course and curly so I am very curious to see how this goes!

Little tip I learned from getting my hair done for operas. Don’t spray hair spray until the hair is completely cold otherwise the spray weighs down the hair and they drop faster :)

Love the longer barrels too! So much faster and cleaner for long hair! Agree with a tiny bit of hairspray holds better. Cool shot key to it lasting too. As I go if hair drying I mist it with a water bottle. I get compliments all the time! Love my dyson. Hope they start selling it as kit for long hair or short... A lot of money to buy all the attachments. But they are definitely listening to consumer needs and requests!
I think everyone should get the longer barrels it provides so much more control to get a better curl even people with shorter hair have where the ends come off

I have quite similar hair to yours (thick, naturally curly & frizzy). How do you keep your curls controlled and prevent them from getting too curly? Also, can you do a tutorial on straightening using the airwrap smoothing brush?

Having seen this it looks like the shorter barrel has made a tighter curl though. I found this myself. Although much easier to use the bigger barrel as all the hair fits better. I don’t think it did as tight of a curl.

She uses a lot of products to keep them lasting.
Sleep with pin curls and your curls will last all day without any hair products.

How long does it take to style your hair from start to finish?
Thank you for demonstrating with both shorter and longer barrels. I have shoulder length hair that's quite thick. I'm not sure if I should get the 'normal' airwrap complete set, or the Long airwrap complete set.

I wish Dyson would include either or, instead of making people with long hair spend even more money. That price point is insane.
They do! I got my starter kit with long ones (got them in the original store as they were sold out online - live in Germany btw)

They have a long complete kit but it’s not listed on the web site, you have to call them. Ordered one today.
Yes, they offer that at the Dyson Demo store. I switched out my short barrels for the long ones.

Use a product like a mousse or a blowdry cream that is specificly formulated to reduce frizz and help with smoother styling. :)

What are your favourite hair products you use?
You hair is amazing!! I got my dyson airwarp 4 weeks ago, and no matter what I do (blowout/ curls) my hair gets super frizzy at the top back hair and at the ends.. any tips? =(
try less speed, that might help so there's not a lot of extra air blowing around the curls. And turn off the device between curl!
I use it on medium heat and it helped me with the frizz. I have curly hair so the top layer is always frizzy for me even if use the comb head attachment first. Try with medium heat for the top layer with the barrels
Don't over dry the hair. I only use the medium heat for about 30 seconds, tops, and then either turn it to no heat or hit the cool shot for the remainder of the drying time. And I stop before it's totally totally dry. I can get away with that because my hair doesn't have the instinct to kink back up like it did when I was younger, but those whose hair does want to frizz out as it finishes air drying, will have to learn that sweet spot where it's JUST dry enough without being over-dried. If that makes sense.
And like someone else said, put the air power/speed on medium or low instead of high, at least for those areas that are frizzing. I always keep mine on high, but it occurred to me recently that that's what's making my right side frizz around my face. So now I just drop the power/speed to medium for that area. Hope this helps.
What happens if you brush it out do they all drop?
There are 2 sizes on Sephora for the longer barrels. Which size did you use? Both?
It looks like she used the 1.6 inch. The 1.2 inch ones are a lot skinnier for tighter curls
I’m annoyed that we didn’t have this option before or even have different buying options as a set so if you did have long hair you could purchase the right barrels from the start.
So these long ones are sold separately?
@@mariav1045 hi Maria! Yes they are now sold separately, I just saw them on Sephora! Plus some other attachments that are smaller, which actually lends to better control like the smoothing and round brush.

@@mariav1045 you can purchase a pink set with long barrels but the blue one comes with short ones , so if you want the long ones, we have to buy them separately.

What finishing HOLD spray did you use ?? This may be the trick to keep the girls lasting longer
Can you buy the AirWrap with the long barrel option, or is it necessary to purchase the long barrels separately as an add-on?
If your hair is past your shoulders and you always rock medium-long hair, don’t ever get the shorter barrels.
Buy the AirWrap with the long barrels set. You’ll end up saving money
My curls fall out after one hour.. what can i do?
Does the Complete Long come in purple or would you have to get the Complete and then the Long purple barrels as an extra? 😔
The complete long comes in purple but it’s sold out right now. I just bought it last week!
What size long barrel do you think is best ? If you could only buy 1... the 1.2 or 1.6 barrel? Thx!
1.2inch is for tighter curls, 1.6inch is for looser curls. Tighter curls stay longer and more intact. I recommend the 1.2inch better. I have both.
Do you workout during the week after doing your hair? If so, how do you pull it so that it doesn’t mess up the curls? Help ☺️

Dears, does somebody know if the long barrels fit in the box (original set) or is the box of the long barrel set higher?
It's the same size box. The long barrels do not fit standing up with the lid closed, but you can lie them down.

You don’t need to buy a whole new airwrap. The long barrels are just a new attachment you can purchase for your airwrap!

I used my dyson for the first time and it shut off midway through my hair and won’t turn on.... has this happened to you?? Like what do I even do about this I’m shook.
Return it it’s under warranty they will replace it
I returned mine after an hour the curls wer looking weird and after two hours no curls,, and it took me an hour to do my hair!!!
Aww no! Did you try using products with hold. These don’t curl hair like curling irons it’s more like a blowout curl.

Oh no. You should have given it more practice. There's definitely a learning curve, but it truly is the best thing ever. I think a lot of people did like you did. But after some practice, it is hands down the most efficient AND effective thing I've ever used.
My curl did not last even an hour! What curling product should I use to hold the curl
I got a Dyson, but I haven't used it from completely wet hair. I have curly hair similar to yours. If you went straight in with the barrels, would you have to go back in with a flat iron to get the roots straight? Also, I'm having issues with flyaways when using my Dyson. Are there any tips that you recommend?

I have wavy hair too. I either do roots and mids with the paddle brush or the soft volumising brush because it gets closer to the root and then go in with the curling attachments. Alternatively If you do go in with the curling attachment straight up, then you will need to flat iron the flyways and roots. I have tried it both ways. First one is a little convenient but I still sometimes need to flat iron the baby hairs. Hope this helps.
I have this issue too. I’ve tried the flat brush and round brush that comes with the set but I still get a layer of frizz all over the top. Any tips on how to tackle this?

How do you keep your hair from getting ruined over the night? My hair looks great before going to bed and I wake up looking like a homeless!
Any tips for fine hair. It seems like my curls are done by the end of the day. I use root pump mouse but does keep my hair curled for more than one day. Also how do you sleep you keep the curls. I usually just do a really loose bun. I have body but no curls.
sleep with it in a twisted bun (in a scrunchie)
Put your hair in a loose bun high up ok the head and tie with a silk hair tie and then use a silk scarf. It’ll keep it in place.
