      When using the ZV-E10, might select either the 11mm f1.8 or the PZ 10-20 f4.0. The rocker lever on the ZV-E10 controls the zooming function in addition to the slider on the lens.

    Thanks for the video. I was also deciding between these 2 lenses. I was leaning towards the Sony 11mm because it's wider, smaller and lighter. But last week I end up ordering the Viltrox directly from China because it was on sales for just below US$260 and it is F1.4. It should arrive to my door within a week. This video really comforts me that I do not make the wrong decision by going for Viltrox.

    You made this video before the Viltrox 27mm f1.2 was a thing = 35mm on apsc, and at the time, I couldn't make up my mind between the 75mm or the 13mm, so I bought the Sony 11mm.

    Joe, just watched and commented on your Viltrox 13mm video, and then this one popped up. Perfect timing. These are the two are leaning towards. I like the 11mm because it obviously captures more video real estate, but the 13mm had the f1.4. Really a toss up. Both pretty much priced the same. Difficult choice.

  • @timbrowntown
    @timbrowntown ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks! I just subbed! This is the comparison I wanted to see! I'm still torn a bit though. I mostly shoot travel videos and need one of these lenses for indoors and lowlight outdoors like golden and blue hours). I will probably use my GoPro for sunny outdoors just because of the convenience. This review goes hand in hand with Mark Bennett's Camera Crisis review showing the lowlight performance. How is the crop/performance with 4K/30 on the ZV-E10? I prefer 30fps because I believe it looks better on TH-cam for travel videos that have mixed framerates of 60 and 120fps. For someone like me who wants to shoot in 30fps a majority of the time, would you recommend the Sony 11mm? I am pleased with the bokeh on the 11mm Sony, but I do like that the Viltrox goes down to F/1.4 if that makes a huge difference in lowlight. I use Davinci Resolve which seems to do a good job with mixed framerates and I believe the 13mm Viltrox is perfect without the addition 30fps crop so I might also be willing to try mixing 24fps since it probably helps in lowlight. I also will be using Catalyst Browse instead of a Gimbal for stabalization, which looks better with higher shutter so that is also a concern. I know this is a lot, but can you give me some advice? Thanks in advance!

      Bennett is alright for a maple leaf , I get his brand of humor enough to keep it entertaining but I do find it kinda hard to take camera knowledge from Peter Tork of monkees serious 😳🤷‍♂️ actually he’s kind of a cross between Peter Tork & Shaggy from Scooby Doo! 🤦‍♂️😳😝 … he’s talks to fluid/quick and uses a lot of text ie by the time you focus thought he’s on to something else or realize there’s text popped up start to read it’s gone ! 😡 I hate that! My ocd causes me to rewind a bit get to that point stop and read , PITA!!! 🤔 perhaps I should comment and advertise for Dolph on camera crisis channel ? 🤷‍♂️ 👍

    • @thefilmalliance
      @thefilmalliance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats a tough one, I think I would go with the Viltrox 1.4 in your situation especially for low light which seems to be pretty important to you. Also once you experience that 1.4 its hard to be ok with Sonys F1.8. Yes you can use the Gopro for sunny outdoors. Hope this helps

    • @timbrowntown
      @timbrowntown ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thefilmalliance Thanks! Yes, if I couldn't use it in lowlight it wouldn't make sense for me. Plus, catalyst browse likes higher shutter speed so the 1.4 would probably help even more by bringing in more light in those scenarios!

      A lot of stores let you try lenses in the store, some allow you 3 days, some will only rent it to you, but that's still better than being stuck with a lens you end up not liking.
      You also have to account for lenses not being identical. When buying a really expensive lens, it makes sense to have it checked - and ask for all the policies that store has.
      You can also rent lenses - might be worth it, when you're not sure.

    Can someone tell me how to make a video for TH-cam, so that when viewed horizontally it would immediately be full screen? So that it would immediately be on the whole screen, without black stripes on the sides, but there were top and bottom

    • @slorz2326
      @slorz2326 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Use the Correct Aspect Ratio:
      The standard aspect ratio for TH-cam videos is 16:9. This is the same aspect ratio used by most modern smartphones, tablets, and computer monitors.
      If you upload a video with a different aspect ratio, TH-cam will add black bars to the sides (for narrower videos) or the top and bottom (for taller videos) to fit the video within the player.
      Resolution and Format:
      Ensure your video resolution matches common standards for the 16:9 aspect ratio. Some common resolutions include:
      1920x1080 (Full HD)
      1280x720 (HD)
      3840x2160 (4K)
      Export your video in a format that TH-cam supports, such as MP4 with H.264 codec for video and AAC for audio.
      Editing Software Settings:
      When creating your video, set the project or sequence settings in your video editing software (like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve) to 16:9 aspect ratio and the desired resolution.
      Here is a step-by-step guide:
      Step-by-Step Guide:
      Plan and Shoot Your Video:
      If you’re filming, make sure your camera settings are set to a 16:9 aspect ratio. Most cameras and smartphones have this setting by default.
      Edit Your Video:
      Import your footage into your video editing software.
      Set up your project or sequence settings to 16:9 aspect ratio (e.g., 1920x1080 pixels for Full HD).
      Edit your video as needed.
      Export Your Video:
      Once editing is complete, export your video using the same aspect ratio settings.
      In the export settings, choose the appropriate resolution and ensure the aspect ratio is 16:9.
      Select a format that is compatible with TH-cam, such as MP4 with H.264 codec.
      Upload to TH-cam:
      Log in to your TH-cam account.
      Click the “Upload” button and select your video file.
      Fill in the necessary details (title, description, tags, etc.) and publish your video.

    Went with Sony because i wanted a lighter lens

      I like how you worded that because the Viltrox 13mm f1.4 has more light and is better during low light environments than the Sony and you're right, the Sony is lighter in weight than the Viltrox.

    Yes, it is the Milky Way. You are looking toward the middle of our own galaxy, at the light of billions of stars. They are so far away that their light blends together into a milky band. written by an astrophysicist, my wife.

    Difficult choice 😅😅 what do you prefer if you're into house indoors photography?

    • @thefilmalliance
      @thefilmalliance  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it just depends on what I am shooting exactly in the house. Like full room photography?

      I would recommend the Viltrox 13mm f1.4. That is actually my favorite lens.

    Fantastic video! What would work best for me… TH-cam guitar tutorials in a small bedroom. Would like a nice blur in the background and the camera to be setup quite close. Any help would be great!
