I can't lie Maschine studio is by far the best controller that NI has ever put out even over the new Maschine+. But once Mk3 was released slowly but surely my Maschine studio has bugs or had to push 2 buttons instead of normally just pushing 1 button. Kinda like the fucking browse issue. SMH. I take it as a spit in the face that they downgrade my maschine studio to upgrade the firmware for the mk3 thats just BS. One things for certain a Maschine studio standlone with touch screens will be released soon and WAY before maschine 3. And i'm sure they'll released 10 more controllers after the new maschine studio is released and will still be waiting for maschine 3 to see the light of day.....................

Automation is there..? Recently been unable to see the automation display though, which makes it tough to adjust if you don't get it it right the 1st time. Just noticed this a couple weeks ago. 🤷🏾♂️

Probably one of the biggest quality of life change in recent versions of Maschine. All the little extra features are nice, but this seems like it should have been one of the basics from the start. Good to see this feature added.
Yeah i know this is why people shit on the sequencer. I was still able to make it work. Sometimes I had 16 bar patterns with only stuff on the last few bars. It was a pain but us heads will always find a way. This is going to save so much time
This is a very impressive update in my opinion... Live has had its clips every since they started (hence so many buttons on my Push, lol!), Reason once introduced 'blocks' but this method really takes the biscuit by combining several (optional!) workflows into one. And all accessible from the Mk3? I'm a fan! Note that I'm not saying one is better than the other, but this does look a lot more flexible to me, also because you can do everything from behind the hardware.
Thank you! It took NI waaaaay to long to get here but here we are finally. I hope that this is a new start for NI and that we carry on seeing more of a focus on building a solid daw moving forward.
Finally. Getting a groove and “not being on the one” was a big killer for me. Having the possibility of nudging te pattern without this limitation will get me back to Maschine. Focused on Ableton for this one limitation but the packs on maschine and the plugin workflow is great on this software!!
I was just complaining about this when Maschine+ dropped. I'm pumped to try this out and see how much closer (maybe all the way) to producing a full track in Maschine it has come. I notice it's not v3, so I'm curious what the plans are for v3 with this coming out now. :)

You can allready. Create a new group and treat it like a buss track. Set the group you want to automate to play through your new group. Apply fx to the group channel an automate freely across your song. I agree though. Not very user friendly when your in the midst of creativity.
@@davidbeckett5244 i'm finding that in arranger mode, even when i automate fx on a group when I automate from one pattern to another, half the time my fx settings will zero out on the start of the next pattern. any ideas? i think it has to do with the order of the patterns in ideas mode
@@brenmac correct. I've had to create blank patterns first, and place as many as you need depending on legnth of your automation. Then start song at beginning and apply automation. This was before the clips update so unsure if it's different now.
yall knew damn well 7 years ago we needed this lmfao... seriously.. i know its not an easy task to develop but making maschine software a dedicated DAW was or is a no brainer... this feature was missing in workflow so bad... tracking out into a daw isnt horrible, but close....keep them coming tho..

This is just...beyond amazingly useful...I can't say thank you enough! Even works on my old ancient Maschine Studio! Best new feature...maybe since I first used Maschine in 2015.
FINALLY! I have waited for this since I started making some music with Maschine back in 2017. I tried to mangle around with the VSTi integration into Cubase which generally worked, but the workflow wasn't really appealing to me. The love runs deep for the tight integration of hardware and software with the Maschine ecosystem, hence I never ever considered selling my Maschine MK2. I have to give it a try now!
The more I learn about this software, more I like it and I had it for over a year since I bought my KKontrol S61 but never bothered to dig into it since I use Studio One and Cubase, but there is something about Maschine layout that is creatively more inspiring in music creating sense. Even though my DAWs are more powerfull, it’s easy to get lost in the timeline clutter... Now, it’s awesome that once you get something done in Maschine, you can pull it into your DAW either as audio or midi and do the final processing there... Peace ☮️
The sequencer was always a vibe killer but after seeing this I'm bringing back out the Machine from the attic. Make better automation on the next update and this will be my go-to DAW
Its called copyrights all the other production programs have had patents 30 plus years ago Maschine had to find ways to work around their patents so they cannot be sued. Creating a DAW from scratch is not as easy as stealing someone else already created patented idea
I have never unterstood the need for an additional controller for a vst that pretend to be a sub-par daw inside your actual daw. There is push, there is atom and even FL hardware controllers and maschine is something completely ridiculous. I've been disapointed by poor push 2 quality and been looking for alternatives... I've ended up buying push 2 again since everything else is much worse and the way less thought out.

Great update, now we need to be able to setup different speeds within the same project, right now NI recommends to use another DAW that will allow time shifting within a song, this is a very basic music resource, why it has not been added since the begining?

Also as well as this general introduction, can we have a tutorial showing this new feature in a real world setting. Could it be used to add 'reference' tracks? Can you create and save clips, to import these clips later? Can you export a clip with effects, to import later?
This is what I've been waiting for!! Honestly NI you all can remove Patterns and Just go with Clips. It's super confusing to have to switch between the two when they do the same thing, but with way more flexibility with Clips. Or at least give me the options to Turn Patterns off lol. I literally just got my Maschine Mk3 yesterday and was wondering how I could edit patterns to have variations without affecting those patterns in the rest of the song. I was so frustrated by this I was thinking about selling it immediately. Now today, I find this. More proof of the simulation.

👏👏🙆♂️ I haven't used Maschine since 1.5 😂, I see you guys came along way 😁. We can set our groups in a "Song Mode" damn 😲 that's 🔥hott🔥😍... Now all we need is... 1. "Audio Warping" so we can snap our vocals to the grid by adding warps to the audio 🤓; 2. "dB Scaling" will help to ensure us our production levels are translating to outboard gear (which is -18dBFS = 0VU), we also need the K Level Scaling (i.e. K12, K14, K20) as well 🤓; 3. "Expander" an audio effect which lowers background noises & noise floors within our audio (TIP: I know Solid Dynamics FX has an Expander, but including it inside Maschine as a default plugin would be more helpful) 🤓.
I needed to see this twice to even get close to understanding why I would use this feature. Now I kind of get that business of turning a pattern into a clip so that only that one instance of a clip is edited and that by turning a scene into clips you can take out areas without the timeline caving in. So, editing in the song view.
Clips are messing up my project. Why doesn't it just say 'change to pattern' when I right click a clip? My project is making clips by itself all of the sudden and I have no clue how to get rid of them. I just want patterns. How do I change it back to a pattern!?
Finally after 10 odd years NI I have done clips. Brilliant. Game changer for Maschine and worth a lot more attention than Maschine +. Simple question with hopefully nice and simple answer:) Is it possible on the hardware to bulk convert all patterns into clips ?

Oh that still is a limitation? Yeah not coming back to Maschine any time soon. I'll take the MPC software's limitations over Maschine's any day.

you can do that for years , lol. No need for clips - you can choose making them Unique or Copies.
CompStuff yeah, but clips makes things a little quicker, a little more intuitive, a little more linear like a normal DAW. I like it.

Finally after 10 odd years NI I have done clips. Brilliant. Game changer for Maschine and worth a lot more attention than Maschine +. Simple question with hopefully nice and simple answer:) Is it possible on the hardware to bulk convert all patterns into clips ?
