I think this format where you do the before and after is brilliant. The project cars are always a great addition to the channel and much better when you do the whole story in one video.
@@HighPeakAutos Just bear in mind you lose some of the detail when you squeeze everything into one video. Sometimes the whole story is what we want to see. I wish I had bought my X5 off you I have lots of little annoying issues that the dealer should have taken care of before he sold it to me.
@@HighPeakAutos Hi Matt, i'm looking at a 2008 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE with 120k miles. Is there anything else you would recommend getting check in addition to the Cam Belt, Water Pump replacement and Transmission Service? Thanks in advance :)
I'm amazed at the prices he's able to get things done. That's quality work for a reasonable price. When he quoted the price to redo the wheels, I was floored. Locally that would cost me at least twice the price. I suppose he's getting a dealer discount because of the business he's bringing.
Awesome video Matt!! Last fall I bought my first Rover (2012 L322 SC) and you are completely correct on all cylinders, this car is absolutely amazing! Good thing your mechanic replaced your rear shocks with the electronic versions. That's for the Vehicle Dynamic System (VDS) which analyzes accelerometers and sensors all over the vehicle to adjust the firmness of the ride based on your conditions. In short talk, it helps prevent rollovers and out of control conditions, which saves lives too! Keep up the great work and entertaining commentary.
Just love these. Had my 2011 L322 for 2.5 years now and just can’t get rid of it, (Longest I’ve ever had a car ). Always fully serviced it mechanically but mine needs a few cosmetic TLC touches to it now, Rear tailgate, interior spruce up etc. other than that - unbeatable. I wish all traders were as passionate and particular about prepping a car as you are. Very lucky buyer who gets your cars. One trader just threw a fake old oil filter box in the car and thought I’d be convinced by the ‘evidence’ that he’d serviced it. It did not. Wasn’t even the correct oil filter for this car. Some just don’t care! Others like you live and breathe quality service. :)
For me there is no other Motorists TH-cam(r) channel presenter as accomplished at making us subscribers / viewers feel like we’re in the passenger seat. Feels like a Sunday morning chat. Also delivered with the straightest of straight bats (cricketing analogy for those who don’t rub their balls on their trousers)…. Another perfectly judged, informative video Matt!
Love this mate! I've sold cars for Audi for years and this is by far the most honest and transparent view of used vehicle prep and how much even a good car costs to prep... keep up the great work!
If only all traders were like you. Shark infested waters was the best description. When you look at a stamped service book do you take it as read , would have thought they are easily stamped by anyone. Do you check with the dealers , some advice for us 'punters' would be appreciated. Thanks.
Great video Matt. From another Range Rover super fan. They’re elegant and super capable, comfy, classy, elegant and a perfect wafter. You can’t beat them 👌

Great video. I too bought a stunning Range Rover Sport, never owned one in 35yrs of driving, and now have fallen in love with them. Thanks for the Pouch link !
Hi Matt Off topic sorry, but....... I just watched a couple of videos on replacing the blower motor on a range rover...........I am gobsmacked! I cannot believe what you have to go through to perform this task. I mean you literally have to partially disassemble the vehicle. I mean OMG x 10 Have look on you tube and you too shall be amazed at the terrible engineering design for this part. It is practically buried in the Dash. Great videos as always! Cheers from down under
Great vid Matt. I love the way that you get your cars up to spec before you sell them on. So many so-called used car dealers take your money and run. Good on you as you actually manage to give the used car buisness a good name...Blimey!
Like the fact that you use the products and services that you promote, i.e Pouch, Surf Shark. Rich people love a bargain, poor people can only but afford a bargain. The detail valet was a real transformation, great workmanship and professional as they measured the clearcoat before polishing. Mate has a long wheelbase L405, white with white interior. The quote about the L405 being a car is true, cocooned in luxury. These before and after videos are a great addition to your usual reviews.
My dream car . . . except in blue with ivory interior and blue pinstriping . . . I would still have to put extra carpets in though, just to keep the originals clean!
Been bingeing on your Range Rover videos. As always, very entertaining. How I wish you'd been around when I was in the market for buying nice cars. All power to you.
Excellent video, Matt... Once again, your transparency really validates your reflections which are helpful to us 'amateurs' who lumber about, lacking your expertise and agility... Thanks!
I don’t know how you get all that work done so cheaply - you must have a special deal going with your mechanics. A gearbox service on an Audi A6 just cost me over £600 at our local specialist gearbox place.
A bit unrelated question, but since you are in this industry - what are your thoughts on current bubble of used car prices? Old bangers for few years ago now cost more than few years ago even with more mileage. It's crazy, you can't even buy anything driveable under 1000 pounds.
I have a l322 (05) and I’ve spent loads on her but I love it, the 3ltr vogue is a very good engine strong and quiet at 125000 miles she runs very good, keep the videos coming as they are a great watch 👍
It would be great if maybe one day you and "Harrys Garage" could team up and do a video together !!!! Why you may ask? because you are both, very genuine and intelligent/humble guys and share the same passion about Range Rovers 🤞 It would make an excellent TH-cam moment.
This is great content Matt. Love it how you buy the car and sharing the refurb costs. Your mechanic and detailer is reasonable. Keep up the good work. Car looks amazing!
I have to agree, mate! I love Range Rovers! Had an ‘87 and an 04 Disco. There’s not a better seating position in any vehicle or a more supportive seat and view. Solid, regal and functional! Goes anywhere and carries a ton of gear and people. Tows great as well. Got their quirks but so much character. Brilliant!
My dad had a very similar spaced Westminster then upgraded to a late 2016 Autobiography which he purchased brand new and still has and my wife has the 2020 3L ingenium Westminster. You can’t beat that 4.4SDV8. All stunning cars though
my L332 wasn't keen on country roads in Australia. First up the front brake caliper bolts came out the resulting noise was like someone was being strangled and the subsequent brake lock was dangerous- was told you need to double the dose of locktight on brake parts to cope with aussie roads for R/Rovers.
I have asked my Dad to purchase 2 tickets which he has done :-) He also entered the Evo and BMW competition so 3rd time lucky. I think raffling the cars is a fantastic thing to do, hopefully a win win situation all around for everyone. My Dad and I agree this is the best channel on TH-cam !
It would be interesting to know how many hours Matt put in to get all the jobs done, including delivering the vehicle to different workshops, and collecting it. This might be realistically added to the final cost by way of providing the full picture of the project, relative to the profit.
You thank us for subscribing but I want to thank you for the honest advice. Since subscribing I bought an Evoque, which my wife liked so much she told me she wanted it and gave me carte blanche to find a RR Sport, which I've now bought too. Back in 1981 I was in the lakes when a local garage owner rocked up with his 1970s Range Rover hooked a rope to a stranded 52 seated coach and bump started it try that in a Golf Gti
My RR was my favourite motor until I was lucky enough to get my hands on (one of two UK) a BMW 750i F01 phase 2 three years ago. Fixing the suspension on my RR was significantly more expensive than you spent! There are some significant parallels between the two cars (I know that sounds silly but it's true!) but the BMW is just as practical as a road car (low noise huge boot), chomps the miles just as well but is much, much, much quicker (0-60 in 4.2 seconds anyone?) and the running costs are almost the same. Great shows by the way!
I would buy a car from this dealer. He knows what he is talking about and he knows what needs doing and when. The car seems a great buy and to many it is a dream car, but the hidden cost's and concern about problems arising does tend to put many potential owners off of actually owning one. Thanks for this, great video and great car.

Wow. What a transformation. To be fair, I think it was clearly a very good car to begin with that had been well looked after, just not mollycoddled. Just needed a little tlc. And, if the previous owner had spent the two grand plus the time, I somehow doubt he'd have gotten it back, let alone made a profit.
The picture you put at 1:03 was my backscreen for years when I had my Classic V8. Then I had a D3 TDV6 HSE (best car I ever had even if I had the opportunity to dirve some luxurius or sporty cars) planning to get the exact L322 as the picture and then something went horribly wrong and now I have a D2 TD5.... A bit of a downgrade but still love it. But now that I've watched your videos and understanding why you love them this much the feeling to get a L322 is working on me again xD
