fog lights look good (but yellow light cuts through fog better). The issue with the interior LEDs is that it makes the interior feel "colder" at night, which I was never a fan of. Think hospital feeling instead of warm interior feeling.
Sam, based on your recommendation I got these fog lights and installed them today. They look great. Now they are brighter white than the low beam headlights. What I appreciated is your install tips but maybe even more, the link to buy. It saved the stress of hoping I pick the ones that will fit. Thanks for the advice.
As for fog lights in Ireland - they're only supposed to be in Fog (visibility under ~100m) and falling snow. Reality differs substantially, as you've noticed .. a pet peeve of mine at times
Yeah noticed they're a lot more common in normal weather here, but I figured it was a cultural thing so haven't been going around flashing everyone as I would be in the UK 😆
Honestly the most useful video out there I have seen, cheers mate and appreciate the channel mention with the guy who tests the headlights, useful information.
Great set of upgrades, really appreciate the detailed video. Did you ever wire up the DRL for the fog lights? Curious to hear how that was done and how it turned out.
Hi. Sorry for my english if its sometime wrong, its self-learned. Connect DRL as well, I doing it.. If DRL power consumption is not big (apr 20W in total or even less I suppouse), you can take the power directly from output of relay R10 (located in engine compartment fuse box). Then DRL will go on always when ignition turned on. But, there is a small dalay (about 1 minute) when turn ignition off. Thats no problem I think, will work like "follow home" light. Put fuse and 5-pins relay between to swich DRL off when use headlights. Power for relay - headbeam connector, pin 11. I doing one more good thing, for free: I change seats bottoms. Now passenger seat (only bottom) is on driver side and driver seat on passenger side. Now seats looks like new, worn corners are inside and not visible. Need to remove seats. Take off the plastic, leather, replace the foam, also replace the passenger sitting-sensor for seat belt. Quite lot of work, half day at least, but not impossible, seats are absolutley similar.
Odd i just ordered the puddle lights, they came installed them, except my truck does not have a red wire, they both yellow. Cleaned the contacts and installed the lights easy enough, but they didn't work, flipped the connectors around, bent contacts, all that. Tested the lights from the jump start posts and they work fine. Fiddled some more, could get flash out of the driver side as I hit the key to open the door, but nothing else, stuck the bulb back in it works fine and now so does the passenger LED. It's almost as if there not enough voltage to run both lamps?
I've just gone down that list, Sam. £106 no money really .. . the boot lights are what tipped me over the brink .. sensational. Thx indeed ... . for all your vids.
Like the LED fog lights and high beam H7 replacements... I'm definitely considering for mine. However, for the interior boot lights i just changed the bulbs for LEDs and not the whole unit.
I dont suppose you could do a vid on replacing speakers, especially the sub? Showing the location of all speakers would be useful too - I think I have a couple of blown speakers - (2012 Westminster 4.4)
Thanks for the video. I purchased LED bulb kits for my P38 and L322, just the bulbs by themselves. Makes a big difference. I have been reluctant to pry out the puddle lights in my L322 mirrors as they seem very tight and I am afraid of breaking the housings. May order the units you used as well as the LED driving lights. I recently replaced all the HID and H7 bulbs in my L322. It is much easier if you remove the entire headlight unit. Powerfull UKLtd has a video on how to do this. Cheers from Canada.
@@SamsMotors that would be fantastic I have fog lamps ready and waiting lol and all kinds of led’s on the way thanks for the vids it’s inspirational the boot upgrades are fantastic
Hi Sam, have you thought about upgrading the cornering bulbs which point outwards, located beneath the front indicators? I’m not sure what size/fitment these are as haven’t looked at mine yet. Wonder if the whole headlamp unit needs to come out for them?
Thanks for this...... late night shopping at 2am on Ali and just spent nearly £400. But all stuff I needed and based on your videos. I'd like to chat more about the sound and video system you've put in as I have quite a few questions. There are loads on the market and I'm spoilt with the system in my Audi Q7. I saw the video and got shopping, puddle lights easy to fit, but my lights did not have a red wire. However they do work and work very well. the interior lights the connector was not the same as the std one, but a bit of leverage on the light connector and the plug fitted. Much much brighter. Sam, awesome stuff. I got all upgrades. Are you going to connect the halo wires for the fog lights? I have searched everywhere and can’t find instructions on where the wires should be connected to.
Hey! Cheers! I haven’t done it yet, but I may do it before this winter sets in. My plan was to wire them via a relay so that they come on whenever the main headlights are OFF, so they function as a sort of DRL.
Very good like the simplicity of the transfer! I put a new fog lamp on the rear of the 110 to replace the smashed old one new one doesn’t work checked the fuse switch and wiring and it’s a dud! I also replaced the accelerator pedal for the Autobiography one - because the original failed - thats nice.
Great video Sam, good tips and nice upgrades all of them. Question, have you passed MOT with these lights upgrades? A year ago I read that these LED bulbs might not be legal under current UK DVLA regulations.
I've also discovered that the 6000 lights are illegal with a VERY SMALL sign on the Halfords product packet of their lights says "For off road use only." so be warned. I was told that they would not be passed at the MOT. so will keep the normal ones and change the at MOT time. ;-)
Hi Sam, Love the Clips. Did you ever finish wiring in the angel lights on the Fogs ?. If so is there a clip and can you send me the link please. Rgds, Ken

I have the same Range Rover and I have been feeling the puddle and tailgate lights were pretty old school. I didn’t want to spend a fortune upgrading but now I’m definitely doing an upgrade. Great to see you posting more regular videos. Keep up the good work. 👍
Loved every l322 video, looking forward to more content. Quick question though about the fog lights, any issues with warning lights on the dash? Powerful uk seemed to have issues with their led bulb replacement.
Cheers David, glad you enjoy them. No warning lights at all. I think because these LED units are a lot more powerful than the replacement bulbs, they draw enough power to keep the bulb check system happy - so no "blown bulb" warnings that you might get with a low power LED.
Hey Mate Great tip, i have the same car can u put link for all the light u purchase so i can get it thank mate, keep up with more upgrade next should be the stereo upgrade to androir auto play
Hi Sam, great video but sadly no links to the various products you mentioned! I can find the H7 substitutes on Amazon and Ebay, but not on AliEpress nor can I find the load space LED replacement lamps anywhere. Please list them! By the way I thought it was always raining in the west of Ireland!
Dooh! I had to look up where the description arrow was!! Can I suggest one thing to make the videos even better? Shoot some ‘cutaways’ to cover your sound edits. It will save the jump cuts which don’t look particularly good or professional. Cutaways can be anything from shots of the items you are going to talk about to shots of animals, trees anything! Any intro chat is really about what is said, not pictures, so edit the sound so it flows, and add the pictures to the audio content. A ‘pack shot’ of everything you have bought and are going to talk about would be idea for this video. Sorry this from somebody who has worked in tv all his working life but really enjoys TH-cam and drinks content on Land Rovers Range Rovers old and new!
Thanks Ian, I've had a couple of comments regarding the editing style with lots of 'cuts' during my monologues etc. The reason is just that I tend to pause a lot when speaking to camera (think William Shatner), and the videos would be twice as long without. Good suggestion regarding filming more B roll though, and I can try to do more voiceover instead of talking to camera to avoid the jump cuts. Thankyou for the constructive criticism though, much appreciated. Sam
@@SamsMotors Thanks for taking this constructive criticism as it was meant! A 'considered' delivery is far better than a high speed gabble! Shoot the intro on the tailgate, twice if you can spare the time, the second go make the shot tighter of you. Edit it to flow nicely and take that 'B' roll (Very knowledgeable!!) and pop in those pack shots and tight shots of the various items you are going to fit. I'm sure TH-cam will double their payment to you!! You may even get freebies to try out as manufactures will know your viewers get to really see the products, a win win. I am in awe of you wielding a spanner with one hand and operating the GoPro with the other, RESPECT! Letting us, the viewer, see the products you are going to fit, as a general shot and CU's featuring salient details and part numbers for reference, is so very useful! I ordered some L322 boot lamps from AliExpress as seemingly they weren't available on Ebay or Amazon. Slightly more than you paid, I think, but I may have opted for the pricier shipping. Interestingly the confirmation email from AliExpress is in French! Also they would appear to be for the Range Rover Sport for some reason! The H7 Bevinsee V45 are available on Amazon UK at an inflated price of £56 but they are only £37 from a UK Ebay distributer which saves transport time! Keep up the good work. Ian
Hi Sam, Big fan of the videos. I have the spec L322 and I am also thinking about updating the H7 Halogens with LED units. Did you get any issues with Canbus warnings? Thanks.
Hey Tom, thanks. No CANbus warnings. These LEDs actually draw about the same 55W that the H7 Halogen bulbs did, (hence being so ultra bright) so to the lighting module they don't look any different.
So lucky you picked a 4.4 up before the rise. They're mega money now. My budget really only is for a very late 3.6. Would you still do it, or wait for the right 4.4?
What's your budget? I watched a 12 plate 4.4 TDV8 with 155k miles sell through Carswithnoreserve Reading (eBay) for £8,600 recently, and thought that was a pretty good price (assuming it's not a complete wreck). I'd still try to hold out for a 4.4 and maybe up your budget a bit if possible, as I reckon it's worth the extra outlay over the 3.6.
I ABOSUTELY WILL BUY THEm IT LOOKS just a tiny bit modern but still looking handsome . keep it !!!! it was a good upgrade. i have my LR RRS 2011 so I will find the same replacements on Alie
Are the lights street legal out of the box, or is there no restrictions on that in Ireland? In Germany it's not allowed to put on "anything you find online". It needs some official approval
As long as it passes inspection it’s probably fine for use… but half the population here drive around with 1 headlight or both headlights out, fog lights on constantly, no indicators… so LEDs are the least of our worries!
Hahaha fair enough. I wish that was the case in Germany too. Our Police here is to scared to go for criminals, so they rather pull out cars and look for slightest little thing to give you a fine.
Sam, on my ‘11 RR the headlight switch has 4 positions: Off, Day Time Running, On and Auto. During the day, I like using the Day Time Running setting. I’m curious with these new headlights you installed, what they look like in that position. I’m hoping the DRLs are on the factory low (dip) beam and still work even with the new H7 high (main) beam. What do you think?
Hi Jerry. I think the US market ones must be a bit different to ours. On mine, it has off, side lights, dipped beam and auto. The lights I replaced were the fog lights (bottom of the bumper) which have a separate switch to turn them on. I've still not wired in the DRL part of them, but if I do - they'll be wired to run whenever the dipped beam are OFF (i.e. during the day). Hope that helps
Thanks for the reply. So it would be your position of the side lights. In that position, is there any light that comes out of the headlights? For me it is like a star pattern.
@@jerrygreene7139 Yes that's right, just an LED 'ring' that circles the xenon/HID bulb. That would be another way of doing it - wire the fog light DRLs into the side light circuit via a relay.
Awesome, one more and I will let you go. When you installed the H7 bulb from AliExpress, did it take away that LED ring that circles the xenon/HID bulb or do you still have it because it is part of the low (dip) beam?
Would have been good to see what the indicators looked like in the dark too!, Otherwise a great informative video, I have ordered much of the same for my 2004 l322 bar the puddle lights, got a good deal too as it was my first time using aliexpress so got a new user discount plus free shipping to Cornwall!, Keep up the great work.
Nice video! Great set of upgrades, bit worried about the foglight and headlight bulb swap as here in Spain they're quite hot on this when it comes to the MOT/ITV. But they certainly look brighter - did you notice any changes to the beam pattern at all? That's what would likely cause a fail... PS: You should have found affiliate links, we'd have been more than happy to support you with them!
As they're in the main beam I don't think the beam pattern matters all that much (might be wrong there) but no, seems similar to the halogen anyway. Cheers!
Hi! Can you point out which specific product you installed for the high beam LED replacement. Is it H7? Mine is 2012 L322 4,4 diesel. Thanks in advance!
@@SamsMotors sry, I noticed links and so on after posting :) Replaced D3S with LED-s, wonderful. H7 replacement LED-s ordered, cannot wait :) Good content ;)

Sam great video. Any chance you can list the parts and where you got them
Hey Mark, check the video description for all the bits. Cheers
Hey Mate Great tip, i have the same car can u put link for all the light u purchase so i can get it thank mate, keep up with more upgrade next should be the stereo upgrade to androir auto play
Thanks, check the description for the links.
Just about to start replacing a left hand turbo on a 4.4tdv8 wish me luck 🤪
Hi Sam, great video but sadly no links to the various products you mentioned! I can find the H7 substitutes on Amazon and Ebay, but not on AliEpress nor can I find the load space LED replacement lamps anywhere. Please list them!
By the way I thought it was always raining in the west of Ireland!
Links are all in the description
Ian
Hello from the US. What description did you use on aliexpress for the replacement led interior lights?
Hi Reggie, links are in the video description for all the parts I used 👍
Another great video Sam what a difference in those lights
Hi Sam, Big fan of the videos. I have the spec L322 and I am also thinking about updating the H7 Halogens with LED units. Did you get any issues with Canbus warnings? Thanks.
Hey Tom, thanks. No CANbus warnings. These LEDs actually draw about the same 55W that the H7 Halogen bulbs did, (hence being so ultra bright) so to the lighting module they don't look any different.
Unfortunately the armrest knob link goes to a L405 model. I don’t know if they’re all the same on the different models so double check👍
Wow some great upgrades , I am sure they was reports of UFO's in Ireland that night 😂 , really impressed with the boot lights
Great video. I'll be replicating the light upgrades on my D4 shortly. Next job can you de-sticker your back window? :)
Those lights are well big pimping looking. She’s looking like one sweet Rangy.🤜
Hi Sam. Whats the socket size required for the H7 bulbs? Your link picks the h3, but theres lots of options which confuse me.
Hi Andy, it’s just the H7 ones you want.
I personally like the indicator upgrade
Hi Sam. Lovely video. I’m picking up a 2008 L322 Vogue shortly… the armrest knobs you link to are L405, not L322. Are they compatible?
They must have changed the listing. There are loads of L322 ones still available on other listings though.
What's your take on the numerous air struts replacement coming out of China are they reliable please and which one would you recommend ❓
It's a Russian rullet, some works for miles others die after just a few days
Brilliant video Sam 👍 thanks very much Mate.
My pleasure!
Excellent and very professional, so good
People can poo poo all they want about Range Rovers, but I absolutely Love them! 😎 👍👍
We may have princess auto but at least you can buy 4.4 tdv8 where we can't.
True! Never understood why you guys didn’t get the diesels. Would be the perfect vehicle with the long distances and heavy trailers over there!
How much is to tax your car here in Ireland Sam?
It will be interesting to see how long they last , excellent upgrade
Would have been good to see what the indicators looked like in the dark too!, Otherwise a great informative video, I have ordered much of the same for my 2004 l322 bar the puddle lights, got a good deal too as it was my first time using aliexpress so got a new user discount plus free shipping to Cornwall!, Keep up the great work.
Happy days, AliExpress should be giving me a sponsorship deal! 😆
Like the led upgrades
Hi, yes H7 for the main beam bulbs in the late L322 facelift
@@SamsMotors sry, I noticed links and so on after posting :) Replaced D3S with LED-s, wonderful. H7 replacement LED-s ordered, cannot wait :) Good content ;)
