      I'm so sorry to hear about the side effects. Did they start you on the 0.25mg? I ask because some doctors will skip doses for some unknown reason and it really messes with people.
      I would also suggest staying on the lower doses until your side effects improve and/or weight loss subsides. (Another thing to talk to your Doc about)

      I wish I had a link. Watched a clip by a bariatric surgeon. He said he sees people with certain types of bypass sur. have sections of their small intestine turning grey and dying.
      He's now seeing the same thing with people just on Ozempic alone.
      At taping he had 2 patients in ICU, and one other somewhere in the hospital. All only on Oz.
      He said to be very careful. Especially if you are doing both.
      I'll post the link if I find it.

    • @mindypweightloss

      @swampholler I wouldn't be surprised if it was from malnutrition... A LOT of people on these drugs do not consume enough calories. I am extremely careful to make sure I am not doing irreparable harm to my body and metabolism through this process, and I'm often accused of eating too much by viewers when I'm often eating less than I should. 🤷‍♀️

    Thank you for sharing your experience and tips. I did not know what to expect when I started. My husband suggested to check Reddit and they have some good groups for all types of GLP-1 with or without diabetes. I learned from personal experience how important hydration is. I agree... sippy sippy! I did not have insurance issues in the start but I did when my insurance renewed and needed a new preauthorization so it delayed my refills. Learning about food noise also helped. Great video. It is videos like this that help me and hope others find it helpful, too.

    • @mindypweightloss
      @mindypweightloss  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Deborah,
      I'm sorry to hear about your reflux... it's a fairly common side effect from what I hear. In regard to eating... I take a moderation approach... I watch my calories and make sure I get at least 30% of my calories from protein but other than that I pretty much eat what I want. It's served me well thus far and kept me from binging/relapsing for the most part. The most important thing is to find something you can stick with... because no matter how quickly you lose weight if you can't maintain the diet... it doesn't work. ❤️

      Hey Judy,
      The only way I'm able to get calories in is to schedule 3 small protein centered meals a day and eat on a clock. I also have a protein heavy dessert of some kind (these days, usually a Creami) that I eat around 8:30pm. That allows me to hit my calorie goal... but if I wait to feel hungry, I would NEVER get my calories in. ❤️

I will have to be more proactive about this. I've been taking mounjaro for 5 months and am down 35lbs. My goal is to lose a total of 100.
    Glad I stumbled on your channel while looking into possibly doing the injection on my thigh because I'm suddenly getting a super crazy itchy spot on my tummy at the injection site. You are extremely fortunate not to have constipation. You may be the first person I've heard from that hasn't. Personally I had been on Wegovy for 6 months and had already lost 65lbs before starting Mounjaro so I'm not sure what the qualifier is for "being healthy" but most people that are starting these drugs are either Obese or T2D so, they won't be healthy if their doctor is prescribing these medications.

      Magnesium Citrate is recommended to treat severe constipation. When I was impacted, it was what my doctor told me to take, and I couldn't leave the bathroom for 24 hours. Magnesium Glycinate is recommended as much more gentle preventative to take on a daily basis and has several other positive benefits.

      As for the Strawberry Fluff recipe, I'm not aware of any ingredients that would have gluten, but since I'm not gluten-free, that's not something I know to watch out for. It just uses cottage cheese, SF jello, strawberries, pistachios, and whipped topping, so as long as you can get GF versions of all of those, it should be.

      I have a video specifically about my hair loss, and since I started implementing those changes last year and my hair loss has improved significantly.
      The MOST important thing is protein intake. I recommend 20-30% of your caloric intake (provided you don't have any medical issues that would prohibit that).

    Hi Mindy have you heard the news today about the lawsuits Novo-Nordisk filed today? How do you find out if your compound is FDA approved? I know that’s not a requirement. I am just curious to see how this all pans out.

    • @mindypweightloss
      @mindypweightloss  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Sandra,
      I haven't heard about the lawsuits... I'll have to look into it. Compounds are not under the purview of the FDA or approved by them. Compound pharmacies are governed by the state, and local pharmacies do have to send their compounds for testing. However, the online peptide distributors I mentioned in the video do not because those Peptides are intended for research purposes (not intended for human use). So I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were being sued by Novo.

    • @mindypweightloss
      @mindypweightloss  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I did a quick Google search... the lawsuit is against weightloss clinics that are selling compounds made with semaglutide sodium or semaglutide acetate, which is NOT the same active ingredient... and they are marketing it as Wegovy or Ozempic. That ingredient is ineffective at helping with weight loss, so it's giving people the impression that they are trying Wegovy or Ozempic and it isn't working.

    • @Sandusko
      @Sandusko ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Regardless, “Novo Nordisk is the sole patent holder of semaglutide and does not sell that ingredient to outside entities. It's unclear what the spas and clinics are actually selling to consumers.” This I was I am referring to.

    • @mindypweightloss
      @mindypweightloss  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is true, but when the FDA declares a shortage, the ingredient is opened up to compounding pharmacies so that people who "need" the drugs are still able to get them. It's one of the many reasons why compounding pharmacies exist. Everything I was able to read said that the only clinics Novo was going after were the ones selling the Semaglutide sodium and marketing it as Wegovy/Ozempic.
